Trial Version CS5

I am trying to download the trail version of CS 5.
The Adobe Download Assistanct page comes up. I log in. Then nothing happens.
I have turned my firewall off, and started over; but noghting happens.
Any suggestions?

Trial version CS5--missing stuff?

I am trying out Illustrator CS5. Having watched one of the tutorials, I decided to try the "bristle brush". Unless I am missing something, it is missing from all menus. Are other features missing in the trial version? Before I shell out the $$$ to upgrade, I would like to know if the paid-for version has this as well as any other items that might be missing that I haven't noticed yet. According to Adobe, this is "a fully functional trial version".

I doubt it's missing. You probably just aren't looking in the right place. It's not a menu item. But, hey... way to cast an accusatory finger for no reason.
It's a brush, look in the Brushes panel. Or click the "New Brush" icon at the bottom of the Brushes Panel and select Bristle Brush.

No files will open in PS in CS2 nor trial version CS5

Up to a month ago my PS CS2 was working great. Then one day I found I could not open any files in the program. I tried reloading preferences with no change. I then removed and reloaded the program (Creative Suite CS2), and PS worked great for two days, then went back to the same problem.
I recently downloaded a current verions of CS5 (with all updates) and it has the same problem. I notice in File>Open Recent it shows a record of alll the files I tried to open. I tried using various methods of opening the files, such as through bridge, and explorer. I reloaded Preferences with no change.
I looked for conflicks with my virus program (Vipre) and made PS an approved program, no change. I feel there must be some conflict in my system, but I cannot find what it is. I want to note that I do run a number of video and 3d programs. And all my other Adobe products work great.
I might mention that I did try Fireworks CS5 recently, and it worked great with photos, no problem. The only program that seem affected is PS.
I am running a Dell Latitude (D520) with Windows XP, Professional, Service Pack 3, Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU, T5500 @1.66GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM, Physical Address Extension.
I have searched the web for answers, none worked.
I would appreciate any help.

Now, do you get any error messages? If so, what are they, as accurately, as you
can articulate them. NO. AS I MENTIONED BEFORE WHEN I RELOADED THE CS2 AGAIN A FEW WEEKS AGO, IT DID WORK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, THEN STOPPED. BEFORE IT STOPPED THE FIRST TIME I USED THE PROGRAM FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

Photoshop CS5 trial version has stopped working. Will the Full version do the same?

Once I try to open a file or create a new file in the trial version it stops working and Windows closes the program. I have read on the forum that others had this problem so I tried the solutions without luck. A sales live chat guy tonight told me that the trial version will not allow a lot of the features and I should have no problem with the full version. Does anyone know if this is accurate? That is a lot of money to spend for a full version to stop working when a file begins to open.

Wind.8bf file missing from trial version photoshop cs5?

I am trying to learn a specific text effect and the tutorial uses the "wind" filter in photoshop. I am currently using a trial version of PS cs5, and have been able to use all features so far... has the wind filter been ommitted from the trial version? Also, I downloaded an older version of the Wind.8bf file and located it within the correct /plugin/filters/ folder, but PS still does not recognize it.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Did you look in Filter - Stylize - Wind?
It only works on pixel-based layers. Is the tutorial based on an older version of Photoshop, or have they done something to the text to rasterize it into pixels?
If I recall correctly, the Wind filter is provided in Photoshop CS5 as part of a single plug-in file that provides a whole bunch of filters. I believe they did this to help speed up the startup, as Photoshop doesn't have to enumerate so many plug-ins this way.
Generally speaking, you should not put the separate 8bf file from another version of Photoshop into the folder tree for the current version, and in fact this can break things. Remember to remove the file you put in place.

I'm working with a trial version of Photoshop CS5. I noted a post about the failure of PS Help to return any results when doing a local search. Apparently, there was a bug and a fix, as described here:

Hi all: thanks for your messages here. There was a problem with the local help download package for Using Photoshop. The team has rebuilt the package and confirmed that local search for Photoshop is now working. Please update your local copy of Using Photoshop to update the help package. Here's what to do:
1. Open the Help app
2. Open the Preferences
3. Go to Local Content
4. Highlight/select Using Photoshop
5. Hit the Delete button.
6. Then click Update
The application should automatically download and update the new Help package.
When I get to step 3, Local Content does not produce any result; so I can't implement the fix. Is the "fully functional" trial version not fully functional?
I was searching for a way to set the timing for AutoSave, assuming there is an AutoSave. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

In the help application when you open the preferences instead of local content,
click on Updater settings and click on Manually update local content, then
click manage now.

Photoshop doesn't have an auto save function, but there are some plugins for autosaving in
photoshop. (there is a recent post on the forum about this)

App Conflicts downloading the newer Dreamweaver CC against exisiting CS5.5 Trial Version

Good afternoon,
I am currently using a Mac Book Pro OS 10.10.1 with Intel Core 2 Duo. If I upgrade to Dreamweaver CC, will there be any conflicts. Also, in the past I have downloaded a Dreamwever trial for CS5.5. Again, will I have any problems if I decide to install the newer version.

Help with importing PDF to Indesign CS5 trial version

Hello: I am in a bit of a quandry. I have numerous PDF's that I want to convert to Epub. I called Adobe and asked them what program I would need to do this and they said InDesign CS5 so I downloaded the trial version to check it out. The problem is, that in the trial version there is no "place" command, which is how I would import the PDF. So I am left unable to run a test with this software and don't want to buy a program that I can't confirm. Any ideas or work arounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The trial version of InDesign certainly does not have any features disabled. You should be able to place pages from a PDF file into an InDesign document.
File=>Place or Ctrl-D should yield a file dialog for you to select a file to place. Of course, you must already have opened an existing file or created a new file.

CS5 Premiere Pro Trial Version

How am I supposed to evaluate AVCHD editing, rendering, etc. performance if the trial version does not support it? Is there a way to work around this? My camera is the Canon HF100 using the .MTS or .M2TS formats.

Color shift going from trial version to full version CS5

Hi guys, I have just gone from trial version of CS5 master collection to a full version of master collection CS5 on my PC.
My trial expired so I uninstalled it completely, then reinstalled fresh from the CS5 DVD. I also updated all of the programs straight after the install. (something which I don't think I did with the trial version).
My problem now is though I am experiencing quite a big color shift from what the trial version was showing me to what my full version is showing me. (Yes I have checked the color settings, they are all pretty much default North American General Purpose 2)
In the trial version the colors were correct, but now my file I am working on my "mouve blue have moved into almost a purple appearance."
Also if I go into acrobat and open the PDF version of the file I was previously working on the colors are also displaying incorrectly when opening the PDF that was created in the trial (which was displaying correct when using the trial). So I guess its not just PS related.
I have a laptop which is also running a trial version of master collection, and when I copy my file to this machine and open the colors are spot on how they should be (just like they were prior to me going full version) which tells me something has definatley changed in this installed full version of CS5 for me.
Not sure what I should do, unstall the software and reinstall it without doing the updates?
PS. Under color managment / advanced, windows color system defaults, my Device profile is: System Default (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
Viewing conditions profile: System default (WCS profile for sRGB viewing conditions)
I havent changed anything there anyway in any install.

Some key points to help understand why you might be seeing what you are:
When color-management is set up properly with a wide gamut monitor, sRGB images can seem dull and lifeless compared to wider gamut images such as those expressed in Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB.
Not all apps are color-managed, so with e.g. a wide gamut monitor you'll see a significant visual difference between the same image displayed via a color-managed app such as Photoshop and a non-color-managed app such as Internet Explorer 8 and earlier. Even though the color-managed applications may be displaying accurate color, many folks feel the inconsistency is "wrong" as compared to when more different apps display the same colors, which will happen with sRGB as the monitor profile (which is the Windows default).
People often consider more vibrant, saturated color "better".
Color management often does not actually work properly. Not all profiles are created equal, even properly formatted monitor profiles may not accurately express the monitor's capabilities, and not all color management in applications is done properly. You're not the first to report problems with a canned Dell monitor profile.

Transition from Dreamweaver CS5 Trial version to paid version

I've spent weeks working on my site with a trial version of Dreamweaver CS5 (actually it's part of the entire Adobe Web Premium CS5) and have two days left. Then I will have to uninstall the entire package and the trial Dreamweaver with it. I have a paid version ready to install then. I notice the trial version has generated an ".ste" file apparently automatically. Will the paid version of Dreamweaver CS5 "find" the .ste file or do I need to do some kind of import procedure? For that matter, do I need to make sure everything is up to date in the existing .ste file before making this transition? Thanks.

What exactly have you purchased as a paid version?
Is it the standalone version of Dreamweaver on its own or have you purchased Web Premium CS5?
If you've purchased Web Premium CS5, you can just enter the serial number and "convert" it to a permanent version - no reinstall required.
If you've purchased the standalone version of DW then you'll have to uninstall Web Premium CS5 Trial first.
Normally any new version of DW will find your site settings and migrate them but this does not always work.
To manually export the site settings, in DW click Site > Manage Sites > Export and you can save the .ste file anywhere you wish on your hard drive.
When you've installed the new version, you can then click Site > Manage Sites > Import and point DW to the saved .ste file.

Can't unistall trial version of Photoshop CS5 extended in Windows 7

My trial version of photoshop cs5 extended has expired. I would like to unistall it. When I go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, both photoshop and bridge do not appear in the window. How do I unistall these programs?

I did go to programs and features, it is not appearing in add/remove
programs. I do have registry booster and it runs about once a month.

Running a trial version of CS5.5 on top of installed CS4

Hi. I have Adobe Master Suite CS4, and I'm on a 64 bit windows 7 system with 24GB RAM.
I have a complex After Effects Scene that I'd been Dynamically linking with Premiere Pro. I can no longer successfully export media from Premiere Pro and get anything to show up, however.
Tried exporting both as png and jpg sequence (as well as flv) directly from AFX render queue, but rendering shuts down with errors after 100-300 images (out of a few thousand).
Using Windows Task manager, I see AFX using roughly 3GB of memory - so not sure if that's causing the problem.
If there are any other likely culprits that occur to someone please let me know.
Otherwise, wanted to know if I could download and install the trial versions of After Effects and Premiere CS5.5 on top of my CS4 Master Suite installation to see if working with 64 bit programs would fix the problem.
From what I've seen in other threads I don't expect that to cause any problems with my CS4 stuff, but just wanted to verify that here before I started.

Mylenium - thanks for the response - and for pointing out that Dynamic Link only works on a suite installation - I'd probably known that at one point but had completely forgotten.
At this point, I'd be satisfied with simply rendering out my After Effects project as either an FLV or an image sequence (jpg or png) which I could then bring into Adobe Premiere CS4 (without a dynamic link) to add titles and audio.
So my main question becomes:
1) Can I install the trial versions of After Effects CS 5.5 without messing up my current Adobe Installation of MasterSuite CS4? (I'll make backup copies of files before bringing anything into AFX 5.5 so backward compatability doesn't become an issue for future use)
2) Any tricks I should be aware of to help my After Effects render go all the way through - i tried several times and kept running into problems within the first 300 images/frames out of a required several thousand.
NOTE - Looks like I can render an AVI from After Effects without things crashing.
I did get the following error message right away -- There is an error in background rendering so switching to foreground rendering after 1 frames completed out of total 1799 frames. (26 :: 142) -- but AFX went on to render this composition (which was the first quarter of my video) properly.
Just did a new file with the remaining 3/4ers - got the same error message -- There is an error in background rendering so switching to foreground rendering after 1 frames completed out of total 7406 frames. (26 :: 142) -- then went on to render properly.
Don't know if that helps narrow what my problem was (why AFX couldn't render in the background) -
I noticed that 'Use OpenGL" was listed as Off under the Render Settings print out in my log file.
This problem (inability to render was also happening with Premiere closed and no dynamic link activated), and no other resource hungry programs running in the background. My Log had been set to Errors only, which didn't seem to generate any Log files during yesterday's renders. Right now I'm rendering as an FLV, and it seems to be proceeding okay - RAM usage listed as 34-35% of 4GB, 3300 frames of 7500ish rendered.
I'd like to understand what went wrong so I can avoid the problem in the future. So please let me know if this info suggests anything specific to you.
(And also, just for my knowledge, can I safely install trial of AFX CS5.5 without interfering with my current CS4 installation?)

Can not access trial version of indesign cs5

hello everyone.
i currently own a version of indesign cs3, and downloaded the cs5 trial version...
when i install, it asks "would you like to install as trial?"
i say "yes"
it then installs, but when I try to launch, its picking up some serial number somewhere and telling me that i need to deactivate the products on other machines before i can proceed.
i own photoshop cs5,   and dreamweaver from that same suite,, but thats it..
how can i activate my trial of indesign CS5? i tried a complete uninstall and reinstall.. but it keeps picking up that phantom serial number that i dont recognize.
very frustrating..
btw, i am mac...   intell   os 10.65

so i did a complete uninstall again from the application manager,   downloaded the correct trial version from the adobe site, and did a complete reinstall,
and i keep getting the same message when i try to launch. its seeing some serial number that i dont own.... and does not give me the option to run as a trial..
super frustrating,   i run a photoshop retouching company and own 20 or so photoshops,, and i just need this stupid indesign for an FPO.....
i have a thousand versions of indesign cs3.. but dont want to pop for the new version over one job....

i guess i am going to have to call the client and ask them to resave as a pdf or something..sort of embarrassing..
