Trial Version not working - does it need "My Documents"?

Hi Everyone
I am currently evaluating the trial version with view to
purchase for my workplace (not for profit public health service).
On my computer at home the product installed and runs perfectly.
However I have installed it on two computers at work. Both seemed
to install fine with no error messages however whenever I try to
run Captivate, after choosing to run as a trial and clicking
continue it just stops working.
The only reason I can think of is the "My Documents" folder
at work points to a network drive and I have only read only
permissions to the root of it (full permissions to some subfolders
though). My question is "Does Captivate need full access to the My
Docs folder to install properly?" I tend to recall that there was a
folder called My Captivate or something that it wrote to this
location.

P.S. If not are there any other ideas as to why it won't
work? I have already uninstalled/reinstalled.

The answer is definitely "YES". I had to get the IT
consultants that the company use to create a "My Adobe Captivate
Projects" sub folder in "My Documents" and then it worked fine.
It would be nice if Adobe actually gave the user the option
of where it wants this folder created; it could default to "My
Documents" if they want but could allow a user to designate another
folder if required. Have the same problem with Adobe Bridge which
is really annoying. Thanks aplumb for your time.

  • Trial version not working after closing

    I downloaded Dreamweaver today and have used it for hours,
    then closed it and tried to reopen it and it shows 31 days left on
    a 30-day trial and will not open if I try to open it as the trial
    version.
    I have tried to contact customer support but the web pages
    seem to be taking me in circles!
    Does anyone know of this problem and how to fix it?

    Have you activated the trial?  Go to File > Account and activate the trial.  You will need an internet connection and yo will need to be logged in with the account you used to download the trial.

  • SAP Netweaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version not working

    Hello,
    I am trying to load SAP Netweaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version on VISTA.  I am having two problems.
    1.  When I try to start NSP using SAP Management Console, I am prompted with a pop-up window labeled "WebService Authentication."  The first parameter for User is automatically filled with value Home-PC\RESkater.  It also asks me to enter Password.  I do not know what to enter for password.
    2.  After I installed the SAP Netweaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version, the download instructions says that I can sign on to system via web gui using  http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000.  However, I receive the error message stating "local host is not set up to establish a connection on port 8000 with this computer."
    Can anybody give me any helpful tips that might resolve these issues for me?

    Hi Rae,
    Regarding issue 1, you to startup NSP, you need to remove the Home-PC\ portion of the username.  So your username should only be RESkater.  Then the password should be the same as the password that you use to logon onto the operating system for user RESkater.

    I would highly recommend that you check out Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE), which provides many of the same features of Workshop Studio 3.3 including Web Application tooling, AppXRay Dependency Validation, WebLogic Server integration and much more beyond the Worskhop Studio 3.3 feature set.

  • Project 2013 Trial Version - Not working after a week

    Hello,
    I have downladed the trial version of Poject 2013, it is supossed that it is valid for 60 days and after a week I cannot update the project files, I just can see them, like "Read-Only".
    It would be wonderful if you can help me as I really need using this version.  At the moment I am working on the purchase of the license but meanwhile this is my only option.

  • Trial version not working

    Hello to all!
    We downloaded the trial version of SunONE Identity Server for Windows 2000 from this web site. We installed it with default options (with new directory server). After installation we are unable to log into amconsole. Interner Explorer just repeats login pages (without any error message), Mozilla displays 'URL redirection limit' error message. Has anybody an idea what can be wrong?

  • Fan - Mine not working (do I need to switch it on)

    the perfromance on my MacBook Pro is VERY slow - and I now realize it could be because the Fan is not working - Does it need ot be activated or something?
    This is so frustrating, We have 8 macs in our studio, 6 of which have had to be replaced due to something faulty on them......I hope this isn't mac replacement 7!!

    Fans turn on automatically when the CPU gets to a specific temp. they don't need to be turned on manually.
    When you say your MBP is running slow:
    a) generally or all programs?
    b) how much RAM do you have? And is it OEM or 3rd party?
    c) is it networked?
    Your problem could be a bad fan, bad temp sensor, or could be you are running programs via Rosetta. Give us more info and we could probably isolate the issue better.

    You can upgrade to iPhoto '11 with OS X 10.8.5 by purchasing an iPhoto '11 DVD from Amazon, eBay or other source - or you can upgrade your OS to Mavericks for free if your system meets the requirements and then purchase the upgrade to iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store - in either case backup first in case of problems

    The error code 0xc000007b means INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT in ntstatus.h which indicates that some files were corrupted.

  • Trial version not full functioning?

    To ry out some features, I follwed the tutorial video for using the healing brush to remove objects from a photo - in my case two people from a group photo. I selected "Expert", then the spot healing brush, brush size 20px. Content-Aware was selected. But when I tried to paint the objects to be removed, it did not work. All I got was a + and not the paint brush. Is the trial version not a full functioning program?

    The trial version is the same as the purchased version.
    Have you tried content aware move?
    It's the tool bottom left in the tools pallet in expert mode.

  • Hebrew search in Smartphone versions not working

    I have a PDF created with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. THe document is created from Word 2007. The document is in Hebrew. When searching the document on Windows (VISTA for example), everything is OK.
    When I do the same on Android, WM6.1/6.5 or iPhone, the Hebrew search does not work. I need to enter the Hebrew term in opposite directions (last letter first) in order for search to return the results.
    How to solve this?
