Trick for making a iPhoto album "last loaded" in Flickr?

i have a set of albums published to Flickr and I have organized and added descriptions for all of these.
i have one album that I would like Flickr to display as the most recently loaded images on my home screen but unfortunately i don't believe there is a way to do this in Flickr easily AFAIK.
does anyone know if there is a "trick" to get this album to re-load in some way that will get Flickr to display these as last loaded? I'm not exactly sure how this is working in Flickr but I'd be grateful for any suggestions to try and/or how to think about making this work.
TIA

Hi Larry.
I've already spoken with Flickr about this and it is an issue of "last uploaded first displayed".
I am trying to see if anyone has run into this and knows of a good way to resolve this within iPhoto and/or Aperture.
Thanks!

trying to make an ibook and have 800 photos, want format of 8 photos/page, but default is not that- "create" the initial book from iphoto "album" it loads less than 800 pics and then when i change layout i have blanks.
if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.
    many thanks for your help.

Photos are added to book in chronological order.  So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.

  • Is there a maximum number of photos in an album for making an iPhoto book?

is there a maximum number of photos that you can upload into an iPhoto book from an album?
trying to make a book and only some of the photos from my album are there

    No
There is a maximum numb of pages in a book (100 pages) and the larges page I am aware of holds 16 photos so the maximun number of photos you could have in a book would be 1600

  • HELP! I can't see my iPhoto albums in iMovie. What can I do?

iMovie doesn't show my iPhoto picture albums or photos anymore. In the past when I clicked the "camara" icon all of the iPhoto albums would load and I could then drag and drop my photosinto my movie. Now I can't even see my albums. All it reads is " iPhoto images loading" and nothing ever loads.  I have looked through the other forums and discussions which mention similar items & tried different things but nothing has worked. All of my software is up to date.

I'm new to this whole ipod thing, and leaving messages. I coulnd't figure out how to post a new message, but i have a similar prioblem to this, but not exactly the same. basically, i loaded my photos form my computer to my ipod, but now i want to delete some, and i don't know how to do this, and i can't find where the photos section is in my i-tunes. I think i have the latest version of i-tunes because i literally only recieved my ipod last week.
If someone can help me i'd really appreciate this, because apple help pages are not very useful

  • Hi.  How do you save the iPhoto album as you are making it?

How do I save the photo album I making on iphoto as I am making it?

How do I save the photo album I making on iphoto as I am making it?
Saving in what way? iPhoto has a database architecture - all changes you make to library items are immediate - no saving needed. Only do not forget to make regular backups of your iPhoto Library..
Or are you asking, how to create a pdf-copy of your book for future reference?
Then select your book in the source list and use the command "File > Print" to print a copy of your book to PDF - press the "PDF" button in the lower left part of the "Print" panel.

  • Is there a way for AutoVue viewer (JVue/VueBean object) to cancel long lasting loading/rendering operation?

Is there a way for AutoVue viewer (JVue/VueBean object) to cancel long lasting loading/rendering operation? In our integration when we try to switch from a document being loading on another one we can get an error message “Cannot load page” (but the document is shown after that). Or if we try to stop loading document by calling jVue.closeDocument() we can see everlasting progress bar and indicator “Loading…” on the status bar.

    No, it is not possible

You need to use a credit card with a billing address in the same country as the delivery address.  Since there's no Apple Print Store for Costa Rica I assume you're using the United States print store.  Therefore you'll need a credit card with a billing address in the US.

  • RGB or CMYK colour formatting for iPhoto Albums printing.

    Hi.
I'm putting my first iPhoto Album together. Info given from Apple about what colour format to use for your photos, says to use RGB. While this is corrcet for digital monitors and screens. Mass printing uses CMYK. Any images supplied to a printers in RGB will colour shift when printed in CMYK. No matter what a printer tells you, these colour shifts can be very noticable. I'm an Advertsing Art Director and I've seen the shift that happens.
I will be checking/colour correting all photos submitted to the iPhoto Album with Adobe Photoshop. And many will very probably undergo some corrections. Be it through levels, curves, hue/saturation, etc. Nothing to anything near an excessive level, but enough to make obvious improvements.
So I will then be faced with the choice of whether to save the images out in RGB or CMYK.
Can someone with some technique knowledge, from the iPhoto team, tell me/reasure me why RGB has been specified? And if CMYK wouldn't actually be a preferable colour format to supply in, considering you'll be printing them in CMYK.
    Many Thanks, Jim.

You're absolutely correct. I was referring to notes make a number of years ago in regards to iPhoto 5  and that RGB was recommended for both books and prints.
I was confusing CMYK with Grayscale with Dot Gain 20% profile when stating iPhoto didn't support it which it didn't fully support until iPhoto 9.
In fact I just ran a test with iPhoto 6, 7 and 8 with a CMYK AND GrayScale files with the following results:
iPhoto 6 (06): wouldn't import CMYK but did GrayScale.  The grayscale file would only display as a black thumbnail and negative full image.  If the DotGain 20% profile was stipped from it the iamge would dispaly normally.
iPhoto 7 (08): wouldn't import CMYK but did GrayScale.  The grayscale file would only display as a black thumbnail and negative full image.  If the DotGain 20% profile was stipped from it the iamge would dispaly normally.
iPhoto 8 (09): neither file would import which is surprising:
iPhoto 9.2.3 (11):  both imported and viewed normally.
iPhoto 9.4 (11):  both imported and viewed normally.
In Oct, 2007 I got an email from Apple support with the following:
Also as iphoto makes a pdf of the book and then uploads it to keep the size down, it doesn't matter if the pics are RGB or CMYK as a pdf is a closed file. But since it is going through prinergy it has an RGB checker so this most be switched off. It is how the software in prinergy handle's it that causes the washed out affect as it takes the Red Green Blue colours and tries to convert to Cyan Magenta Yellow Black. Now the colour spectrum in printing between rgb and cmyk is quite different looking at a colour wheel will show you. The best way i can describe it is if you have a pantone book which has spot on one side and process on the other you can see a colour difference. Or if you use quark open up the colours and again switch between process and spot.
BUT ONLY CONVERT PICS TO CMYK IF YOU ONLY INTEND TO ORDER BOOKS. IF YOU INTEND TO ORDER PRINTS IT WILL NEED TO BE RGB.
    Here's how i see it:
    1. Apple doesn't want 2 different versions of the pics floating about as running CMYK through a photomachine (as prints you would order in the high street) will not print correctly.
    2. RGb's going through a CMYK press using prinergy will attempt to convert and produce the washed out effect, or yellowing effect BUT will still print.
So it will use the 2nd option as it will still produce prints normally and books with a slightly washed out effect. Now to most people in the high street, who will notice a difference?
I have just received my latest book saved as CMYK pics in tiff format and no washed out effect. What i will say is The quality if still not as good as a print. Now we use a docucolour 5252 at work and the colour quality is better. I wonder how often the machine is calibrated and what colour curve it is set to?
However, I am unable to import a CMYK file in any iPhoto version until iPhoto 9. Go figure.
Thanks for the feedback.  Hadn't addressed this particular subject in quite a long time.

  • Hello, is there a way for making a photo transparent with iPhoto are another software?

Hello, is there a way for making a photo transparent with iPhoto are another software?

Not with iPhoto, but different apps have different capabilities.
There are a couple of considerations: How is this transparent image to be used? In a Deskop Publishing environment something like Pages' Instant Alpha might be useful. Or if you're trying to overlay one image on another on a photograph then some editor that supports layers would be required.
Further, Jpegs as a format doesn't support transparency so you'll need to work ina  file format that does.
But if you can explain what you're hoping to do we might be able to point you in a more useful direction.
In order of price here are some suggestions for editors:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • IPhone not making its own album for downloaded photos

    Why iphone dont do this?
I always download lots of photo from different apps and why they all go to "Camera roll" instead of making a new album for the photos?
example. i downloaded a photo from viber, iphone should create an album named "Viber" on the Photo because the photo is from there and if its from facebook its named "Facebook" or from the internet "Download". If you guys know what i mean, because its like a trash can 1 basket with different things.
and what im asking is album of photos for each apps.
Is there a way or something that can do that?
Android does this.. Im not comparing them, just saying..

    Dear ecarlivan,
I agree with you absolutely, I have the same problem and dont be sorry to compare with android, because Apple in his great wish to be very original loosing some quality on functional side. I become Iphone 5s user two weeks ago and day by day I notice more and more things that they are not right. And even here i dont see any wish from apple people to change something.
Sorry to say but I am very disappointed.
    Only good appearance.

  • Needed: Script for exporting iPhoto albums into a file structure

Hello all! I have no experience with AppleScript, but I heard it should be possible to write a script which helps to copy/export a iPhoto album structure into an according directory structure. Does anybody already have such a script?
Thx for any information on that!

    Thomas,
I have created an AppleScript along with the TextCommands OSAX that duplicates all of the albums in iPhoto to a folder called "Albums" on the desktop. It is quite slow because of the need to open an Info window in Finder to get the path to the original photo but gets the job done.
If you wish it could be modified to provide an ability to select individual albums for duplication. Let me know if you are interested in the latter. I am also seeing whether the album structure can be created directly in a burn folder so that CDs/DVDs can be rapidly burned.
TextCommands is donationware and available at the following location:
    http://osaxen.com/files/textcommands1.0.1.html
and should be placed in the following location for the AppleScript to see it:
    ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions/
click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">property PathToDesktop : path to desktop as string

  • IMac or Mac Pro for iPhoto albums and home movie editing?

I have a Mac Pro OS X 10.6.8 with iPhoto 7.1.5. This system is now obsolete for ordering iPhoto albums. I need to upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 to buy a Mac produced photo album. To upgrade iPhoto I need to buy a new Mac as my 2004 Mac Pro with 2008 Snow Leopard can't be upgraded. I will use the new Mac for email, web surfing, iPhoto, and weekend video editing. I use Final Cut Express on my current Mac Pro. I will also need to transfer videos and about 20,000 photos from my current Mac to a new one.
So, here's the question: For my needs (listed above) which is better,
    (1) iMac 27" or (2) new Mac Pro? Then, with the one chosen, how should it be configured to do my basic video editing? I have 100 hours of family video on Hi8 and VCR tapes and will edit these on Final Cut and burn them to DVD's. (I understand both iMac or Mac Pro now require an external DVD set-up.) So, which computer and how should it be configured. Looking to pay between $2500-$3500. Thanks for your help!

What video formats are you talking about? DV, HDV, etc?
Mac Pro is a better solution, regardless. Here's why: Simply upgrading an iMac HD is not enough. You do not want to capture your video to the boot drive. It's too much to ask the drive to manage the OS, your editing software, AND your media. This scenario might work - but is certainly prone to dropping frames. Ideally, you want one drive for OS + editing software & a separate drive to capture media to.
Now, since you can only have a single HD in the iMac, you're demoted to using external capture drives. So let's say you get yourself a FW800 drive for capture and then hook up your camera/deck to an available FW400 port. You'd think you're safe - and again, you may be. But the problem now is that the iMac has ONE and only ONE FireWire bus. So in theory these 2 devices: HD & Camera are battling for the same bandwidth. So you've still got a bottleneck happening.
So DV only would probably work. But it may have issues that the expandability of the Mac Pro can conquer. Hope this helps.

  • Use iPhoto album for screensaver

Using Yosemite 10.10.2 and iPhoto 9.6.1.  I want to use an iPhoto Album as the Screensaver; I have been doing this for years with all previous OS and iPhoto versions.  Now, the "Source" in the System Preferences: Screensaver Pane: My Pictures has a limited set of options.  1. Under Photo Library, I can pick one or many individual photos, but Albums are not listed.  2. Under "Choose Folder, I can choose "Picture", but iPhoto Library is gray (not selectable).

    Howdy wjfeeh,
Rebuilding your iPhoto Library may help get your albums to appear in the list of options for your screensaver.

  • IPhoto won't load albums or import

When I open iPhoto it says loading pictures but they never load. It just continues. I've moved all the images to the desktop and tried importing them but it keeps giving me a message saying that is can't recognise some of the data even though the images were working for months.
Pictures won't import from my camera either and it never had a problem previously (it's a Concord 4060AF)

First here are two Apple KB documents that you should be aware of, particularly the second one:
    iPhoto Library Description
Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder
How did you move those files to the desktop? Did you move the entire iPhoto library folder to the desktop, relaunch iPhoto and then drag that old library folder into the open iPhoto window? If that's what you did, you're getting all of the original files, edited files and thumbnail files imported as normal files and the files that you're getting the message about are non image files.
What you want to do is
1 - move any iPhoto library folder out of the pictures folder. If your original iPhoto Library folder is on the desktop then trash the one currently in the Pictures folder.
2 - launch iPhoto and create a new library.
3 - using the File->Add to Library menu option, select your original iPhoto Library folder and start the import process that way.
You should now get only the original files and the edited files, no thumbnail files. Also you may retain some roll organization. When you're satisfied that you have all your photos in the new library you can trash the old one.
For the record, did you do any moving of files within your original library folder before this happen or run any software updates just before?

In the subject, I believe I specify exactly my problem. I am using iPhoto but am a beginner. So lots of new things to learn.
I thus would like to eliminate the post stamps which appear on almost every single page of my photo album.
    Can anyone help me?
    Many thanks

Hi Terrence,  you are quite right - looking further into the file, I notice now that I choose the wrong theme, one which has stamps on every single page. Thanks a lot for your help. I am now able to improve my work on my present iPhoto album. Regards - Claire
