Trick to temporarily disable clip connections?

i was reading about this trick recently but i cant seem to figure out wehre i read it or replicate it on my own. its some key or combo that puts a little no symbol over the regular cursors (at least i think thats what it looks like). If anyone knows that trick i would be ever so thankful also i give points

yes......the grave key....
if its NOT programmed into your key commands... Open Key Commands and type "override" without the quotes.
You'll find "override connections: and you can then assign a key to it...
So in the timeline... You'll hit that key while dragging, trimming a clip and the connected clips will stay put

  • Snow Leopard and Juniper Network Connect/How to temporarily disable Bonjour

    Hi All,
I have encountered a problem with Juniper Network Connect running on my MacBook Air. I can connect successfully to my company's VPN but on my MacBook Air Junipers Network Connect started to dis- and reconnect in changing time intervals.
After some googling I am pretty sure that it has something to do with the Bonjour service changing the routing tables. I wanted to confirm this and activated "Back to my mac" on my MacBook Pro which up to now did not had any problems connecting to my company's VPN. Now it has the same issues.
My question is whether there is any way to temporarily disable Bonjour, ideally via Apple script. Up to now the only solutions I found were to either
    - disable mDNSResponder which would also prevent accessing any websites or
    - disable multicast advertisements (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US)
The latter approach includes editing a properties file and restarting the mac, thus would be less than ideal for just quickly dis- and enabling bonjour. Furthermore I am not quite sure whether this really solves the problem of updating the routing table.
    Any advise is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    equinox

If you are using an Airport or Airport Express base station: go to Utilities>Airport Utility. When it's found the Airport, click on 'Manual Setup'. In the next pane, click on the 'Wireless' tab; when that pane opens click on 'Wireless Network Options...'. Check 'Create a closed network'.
If you are using another manufacturer's wireless router you will need to look at their instructions, but the principle is the same - it may say something like 'Hide SSD'.

  • Lost ipod and not sure where, can an ipod be temporarily disabled ?

lost ipod but maybe at home somewhere, not sure where its been lost. can it be temporarily disabled ?, just in case it turns up

I do not know what yo mean by disabled and what model iPod y ohave:
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Temporarily disable scanning?

    Hello, all--
As we all know, there's a checkbox in Server Admin called Scan email for junk mail and another one called Scan email for viruses. Rather than unchecking these boxes in Server Admin, how else can I go about temporarily disabling scanning?
Do I simply uncomment @bypassvirus_checksacl = qw( . ); and @bypassspam_checksacl = qw( . ); in amavisd.conf? Or are there some other lines in amavisd.conf or spamassassin/local.cf which are 'connected' to these Server Admin checkboxes?
And I assume mail service must be OFF when I make these changes, correct?
    Many thanks--

Got the answer, thanks to pterobyte. If anyone else is interested, the answer is to comment out content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10024 in main.cf.

  • Lens corrections temporarily disabling other adjustments

I have recently noticed something strange with Lightroom. Normally, I work my way down the Develop module making basic adjustments, using the various tools, and so on; the last thing I do is Upright or Manual lens corrections. However, I apply Lens profiles at the very beginning (because it makes a difference). Recently I noticed that when I apply Upright or Manual Lens corrections, Lightroom seems to temporarily disable any other corrections, apply the lens correction (which always seems to take forever), and reapplies the other corrections. I found this out after noticing minor black and white clipping areas temporarily reappear on a photo I had corrected with an adjustment brush while applying a Manual Lens correction.
I find this behaviour odd and do not know if it has any impact on any other corrections like adjustment brush correction (in this case I started wondering if Lightroom readjusts the adjustment brush area or not).

  • Able to temporarily disable filters?

Does FCP have some way to temporarily disable all video filters in one move?
And if not, what are people's workflows for editing a piece where you need to apply filters to all clips in order to make outputted video look right for approval, then subsequently need to go back in to make many changes, but don't want to have to re-render or work in Unlimited RT which is too slow. Then have to output new version with filters applied again, etc.
This seems to me to be a common issue but I can't figure out the best method for this. You can remove all filters, and you can individually turn filters off on clips, but that wont solve my problem.
Thanks for any ideas on this.
    Patrick

Instead of applying broadcast safe or other similar filters to every clip in a sequence, I always create a nested sequence for layoff and apply my broadcast safe filter to it. If I have any last minute changes, they're made to my normal sequence and the only thing that needs to be re-rendered is the affected area in the nested sequence - not the entire sequence.

  • E71 disable data connections on roaming

is there a system setting or recommended application to disable data connections in roaming?
on my other phone running android there is a switch on the menu and on top of that there is a switch app which disconnects connections and changes apn to prevent reconnecting.
I'm looking for similar solution for nokia e71... thanks!

i know about that but I do not want to be going to every application and making sure that it is configured not to use data...
I want global system setting which cuts out internet connection.
On android there is a nice program called apndroid which changes apn url temporarily and reverts back to original when you run it again.
I'm not familiar with programming on symbian but is there API access to apn settings so it could be changed by a script or software?

  • Disable webex connect

    Hi.
I set up Jabber for connection to Unified Presence server, but when Jabber starts, tries to open go.webex.com/...(I see it on Wireshark and on proxy firewall) Therefore it always displays a window with request of login and password for our proxy server.
Can someone advise how to disable webex connect in Jabber?

Are you sure you have installed Jabber and not the webex connect client (which will automatically connect to webex connect cloud services).
In Jabber, before you sign in, you have the choice to choose between server types:

Your MacBook Air is an Intel-based system. To download the current version (11.2.202.228),  go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download it from there.
If there is still a Flash issue, you can try the Google Chrome browser, which has the current Flash built into it, to see if it works any differently with the videos. It's available from https://www.google.com/chrome

    Possible Cause
When a database is being restructured or any application/database on the server is being copied, you can get this message.
    or
When a cube is being restructured, commands are restricted because the integrity of the cube has to be stable and no one is allowed to access it.
    or
Copying an application requires that the Essbase security file be in read/write mode and therefore other applications are not accessible until the process is completed.
    Possible Solution
In Application Settings, verify that the Allow Commands or Allow Updates options are not selected.
If not selected select those..and try

  • My daughter forgot her passcode, so "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes." But iTunes refuses to connect without passcode. Now what?

My daughter forgot her passcode and tried too many times to remember it, so now her iPod is locked with the message "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes." I tried connecting it to iTunes, but iTunes says it could not connect "because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can be used with iTunes."
Question 1: What are we doing wrong? Why does the iPod say to connect to iTunes if it CAN'T be connected to iTunes?
Some other threads suggest that the only option is to wipe/restore it. The problem is that she has a lot of photos she would like to rescue before erasing it. The Photostream had not been enabled on her computer, so I enabled it. Shortly thereafter, six photos appeared on her computer. But she says there are many, many more and she really wants them. We have waited weeks for more photos to appear, but no more have shown up after the first six. Why not?
Question 2: Is there anything we can do to coax the iPod to finish sharing the rest of the photos in her Photostream?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. You can't get info off the iPod in its present state

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
All you can to to get the photos is:
    Photos
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

  • Disable Internet Connection on LAN computers on Linksys E2500

    Hi,
I am new here, and going to setting up my router in my small office.
I have a Linksys E2500, and going to disable internet connection on computers that connected via LAN cable.
So, this is how I am going to set my office.
                                                                          Internet
                                                                                 |
                                                                          modem
                                                                                 |
                                                                   Linksys E2500
                                                                    (192.168.1.1)
                              |                                                                                                   |
                       Hub A                                                                                            Hub B
         PC 1                     PC 2                                                                PC 3                        PC 4
Hub A and Hub B are in different floor.
Do these Hub A and Hub B still give the same range of IP Address from linksys (192.168.1.x) to the PCs below them, like PC 1 got 192.168.1.2, PC 2 got 192.168.1.3 and go on? Can I reserve an static IP Address to each PCs, and disable internet only on PCs below Hub B (PC 3 and PC 4)? I cannot find any controls for disabling internet connection on LAN interface from the E2500 Setup Interface. There are only Wireless MAC Filtering and no LAN MAC Filtering.
If this thing sounds stupid, I am sorry but I have no experience in setting network here. I hope someone can help me out.
    Thanks a lot.

I agree with FurryNutz. You will need an IP-enabled device for the router block it via Parental Controls. If you have wireless bridge or a manageable switch, you can block that and all the devices connected to it should also be blocked from internet access.
I think you can set Static DNS on the computers under Hub B to 0.0.0.0 which will not allow them to access the internet but are still within the router's local network.

It appears like there is maintenance or something affecting the iTunes server today.  I recommend giving it a few hours and trying again.  It shouldn't take that long to restore but from what I hear, there is definitely something going on with the iTunes server today.
