I read there was an firmware update for the HD 2400 XT graphic card, from Apple see below

This update is for iMac computers with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card installed, running Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later.

Understand what your saying but in this case I don't think you're right. The installer log gives the following message:
Installer[1299]: Package Authoring Warning: Package reference does not include required hash for package id auto.
Also I have yet to hear of anyone being able to install this update. Seems to me that if they are going to post it there probably ought to be some computers out there that actually need it.

Launch the Terminal app, copy & paste this command into the window that pops up, and hit the return key. At the Password: prompt, carefully enter your admin password, since nothing shows up on the screen, and hit the return key.
sudo chflags 0 /Volumes/
Then, copy & paste these next two, one at time, into the window and hit the return key after each:
sudo chmod a+rx /Volumes/*
killall Finder
Quit the Terminal app and try installing again. -

In first logout ur apple id in iphone or ipod and then Open iTunes in computer and with apple Id download facebook and withsame id open login in ur iPhone then it will download automatically

I am running OSX 10.6.8 Snow lepard I am trying to install windows on my intel imac 20in late 2006 via bootcamp, and it says I need to download Windows Support Software. I tried, but it says "Download can not continue. The Windows Support Software is not available. I bought the Imac secend hand and did not get the install dvd's with it What can I do?
You don't need to download the Windows support software, because in Snow Leopard, they are only available as a download for the Late 2010 MacBook Air.
Instead, you have to buy Mac OS X Snow Leopard. The Snow Leopard disc contains the Windows drivers for your Mac, so you have to install them after finishing the Windows installation -
Is anyone else having this issue? I would very much like to download the update because it address the issues I have been having with my iMac.
Don't shoot the messenger . From what I've seen on various forums you're not alone, so hopefully it will be addressed, hopefully sooner rather than later.
When I got my iMac at the end of 2009 I was affected by the dreaded flickering screen issue - took two firmware updates before it was finally sorted for the majority. -

Given the state your device is in you have already erased your old stuff. You have an image on the screen that says, "Connect to iTunes." That's what the image means. So you will need iTunes on your computer.

I was trying to installed new ios update and suddenly my WIFI connection got desconnect. now I am trying to restore my Ipad2 but getting error saying "the Ipad could not restored, An unknown error accured (3194)". so please help me out to resolve the same.
When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

i just tried to install the 11.4 update (or whichever one is the most recent update as of 1/26/2014) and when it failed i tried to install manually and now whenever i try to use it, i get the following error: "The application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Right after i click ok i then get this error: "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)." I tried to uninstall Itunes and then reinstall the 11.03 version but that didnt work either. I want to know if i copy all of the music in my itunes folder to an external without consolidating can i still transfer all my itunes music from my current windows xp pc to a brand new one and have my current itunes library in my new pc? Basically i just want to know 3 things: What exactly does consolidating the itunes library do? Can i copy, paste, and transfer my itunes library to an external and from there to a new pc? Will i be able to transfer my itunes library without consolidating the files?
I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). My nokia Lumia 620 is stuck at "pending" when I try to install new apps or update existing apps on my phone from the store. I even tried unistalling and reinstalling but still was stuck at pending. That's it no error message, no crashes. it just waits for ever and it never starts downloading

if the battery is completely dead, just keep the phone connected to the charger, and wait about 30 mins before trying to turn it on
and fyi, if the charger is not powerful enough, lumia phones can drain the battery even if it's connected to the charger

Flashbuilder stalls when trying to install new software
hey all, for some reason Flashbuilder does not want to install new software. It just sits there forever calculating. Has anyone else seen this before? It used to work fine. Not sure what's changed.

Storeagent is trying to install new software?
I was using my Mac tonight and suddenly this dialog box I had never gotten before popped up. It said:
storeagent is trying to install new software.
Type your password to allow this.
...with fields to enter the data and a "Cancel" and "Install Software" button. In addition, there was a help (?) button that when clicked on called up Mac Help Center with the section on "If you forget your login password" but no data on what this storeagent is.
The dialog seemed to have been provided by Mac OS, since it floated above all windows.
Normally, when I get an unfamiliar message, I type a phrase from it (in quotes) into Google and this pulls up plenty of cases where people have inquired about the same issue before me, but this time when I entered the phrase used in the dialog and the title of this post, I got nothing. Surely I am not the first one who has encountered this dialog before?
I clicked Cancel, since you hear so much about viruses these days attempting to install malignent software. When I did so, I got a dialog with the icon of the Mac App Store, saying the app update had been cancelled.
Maybe this dialog is legit? Advice appreciated.Okay, I've thought of a couple of things you can try if you don't want storeagent to run when MAS is not open:
1. Go to Applications > Utilities and launch Activity Monitor. Processes are arranged alphabetically. scroll down to storeagent and, if it is running, highlight it. Then go to the top left of the window and click on "quit process". That is a manual way to stop something from running. Test: leave Activity Monitor open and launch MAS - check to see if storeagent launched itself right after that. If so, quit MAS and see if it quits - if not, quit the process manually.
2. What settings do you have set in System Preferences > Software Update? I prefer not to have things done automatically so I have everything unchecked:

Trying to install Itunes 10.5 update onto my netbook running windows xp and it keeps telling me it can't continue the update due to missing something from the windows installer package. My installer package is the latest I can find which is 4.5 from microsoft site. Help.

So I just bought a used MacBook from Amazon with OSX 10.5.8. I am trying to install new software and operating system, but I don't have the passwords to the Users set up in the computer. What do I do?
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart.
