Tried downloading iOS 6.0.1

Tried downloading iOS 6.0.1, when the iPod Touch Gen 4 froze; Tried restoring it through iTunes; Then tried turning it off, wouldn't show the red slide bar; Then tried pressing the on/off button and the home button, this gave the Apple icon for a short period of time and then the iPod went to a blank blue screen.
The iPod isn't being recognised as attached to the PC (Windows 7), isn't being recognised with iTunes (have just updated to 10.7.0.21).
What else can I do? I seem to have exhausted all the 'helpful' hints that I can find!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I was able to restore my phone!!!
I called Apple and they said there was nothing more I could do. I called my carrier Verizon and was able to get my computer to recognize my device after trying this-
Solution:
After trying EVERYTHING this is the ONLY thing that worked-
I took the USB connector cable out of the USB port it was in, and tried another one on the otherside of my laptop and iTunes was able to discover my phone in recovery mode. My phone was reset and everything is fine ( thank gosh for backup copies!)

I'm havign the same issue here on two iPhone 5's running iOS 7. I swear, though, that while running the iOS 7 GM on one of these smae phones just two weeks ago, the "plug" icon showed up when the device was fully charged. I can't pinpoint exactly when this stopped happening, but it's annoying that a behavior that users have come to expect since the very first iOS (ie when the icon changes it means the phone is charged. Period) changes for no reason ... and makes many of us scramble to the net trying to find out whether it's a problem.
It's like having a coffee maker who's 'brewing' light never turns off ... leaves you always wondering if that extra drop is coming out.

I went in again, chosing restore, itunes is currently downloading again! this time it says 44 minutes remaining. If my computer goes into hibernation, I have to restart and then download says 4 to 35 hours?? Trying to recover the ios6 is frustrating. If you want to go to the first set-up screen of iPhone, like after a restore, then on iPhone tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If you want to have your iPhone basically Restore itself, then tap Settings App > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

Unable to download iOS updates

I'm having issues with downloading iOS updates through iTunes. I tried downloading iOS 4.3 and recently 4.3.1 but no luck with either. Every single time I download an update through iTunes I get an error once the file has reached 100%. The error that I get is:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. The network connection timed out."
I also get an error code beside the update in iTunes. The error code is 3259.
I spent a lot of time on Google trying to find a solution but nothing. It seems like the common issue is that a virus scanner or firewall is preventing the file from being properly processed. I don't have a firewall or anti-virus enabled, so I know this isn't the issue.
I'm on OS X 10.6.7 with iTunes 10.2.1 (latest versions for both).
To me this issue doesn't have anything to do with my iPhone. It has something to do with iTunes or a setting on my computer. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I suspect something wrong with your iTunes installation. After you update your phone, follow these instructions to completely remove iTunes & reinstall it. Things must be done in a certain order:

Siri can definitely be turned off. I found the instructions here:

Page 39 says this:
Setting options for Siri
Turn Siri on or off: Go to Settings > General > Siri.
Note: Turning Siri off resets Siri, and Siri forgets what it’s learned about your voice.

I am getting error 3259 when I try download iOS 5 on iTunes? I have used 3 different computers as well.

In the past 4 days I have tried downloading iOS 5 and keep getting this error. I have even tried it on 3 different computers. I have the latest iTunes 10.6.3.25 and it starts downloading, when it comes to about 200mb it bombs out and gives me the error. What a waste of 200mb of cap!!!!

Tried to download from website off Safari and message it is no longer sold in the US. Please help. Apple owes me for the cost of this app. Plus Google Maps is infinitely better and that the download kicking it off makes me want to buy an android. What iOS are you currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Hello. Today iOS 7.1 came out and I want to get it. I currently do not have 2.5GB of free storage on my iPhone 5s so I wanted to use iTunes to download and install iOS 7.1. The problem is that every time I try to download iOS 7.1 I get a "Network Error" message (screenshot provided). The alternative I tried to use is downloading the IPSW file directly from the internet but I also get a network error (screenshot provided). I was able to download anything and everything else I wanted to download today but only get this error when downloading an Apple IPSW file. I downloaded iOS 7.0.6 less than a week ago through iTunes and didn't have an error but with iOS 7.1 I am having many difficulties. I disconnected my internet and tried again but still no success. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem? Any input will help! Thanks so much!
