Tried Everything - Boot Camp will NOT work!

Hello everyone, for about the past 7 days, I have tried installing boot camp on my macbook pro late 2011. My MBP Has an hdd in the optical drive bay, and a hybrid drive in the hdd bay. Recently, after the failure to install boot camp the first few times, I bought an enclosure for my optical drive. I have a copy of windows online in iso format, so everything should be working, but, it has not. I have tried using a bootable usb flash drive, with SEVERAL different ones, to no avail. I have made boot camp look as if I had a MBA, to no avail. I have burned a bootable iso to a blank cd, to no avail. NOTHING HAS WORKED. I have waited around 32 hours of work in 7 days to post onto this website, thinking I can do it myself, but  I simply cannot. When I did the bootable usb drive method, I got a please insert the bootable disk, and then press any key. And then when I did the bootable blank dvd with a bootable iso on it, all my mbp would do is blink that cursor thingy on the black screen. EVERY single usb drive was taken out for the computer. The only things plugged in were my charger, and the external optical drive bay. Please help me with any useful info, as it would help me so much.
P.s. I have also used Wine/Crossover. I am ONLY doing this so I can game windows games on Steam. It is the sole and only reason for this venture. Crossover did not have enough support for the games I wanted to play, and would crash often, and Wine will not work with some of the newer games, with very little support/incentive from developers. Please if I have done something wrong by trying to use these, or maybe I'm just not using them right, please tell me.
If anyone has any other solutions to windows games played on a mac through steam, please tell me, It would mean a lot.
This has been a very frustarating adventure, and I really would love to get this resolved. Whoever gives the advice that ends up working, will get best answer. Thanks!

If you had done any google searches for installing Windows on your model Mac computer you might of found out that Windows will ONLY INSTALL from the BUILT IN DVD drive when it is installed INSIDE the system. So since you have replaced that drive with a hard drive there is absolutely NO WAY to install Windows on your Mac. It will not install from a USB key, It will not install from an external DVD drive, it will not install from any other source other than the built in DVD drive when that drive is installed INSIDE the system.

  • Boot Camp will not work after installing recovery disk

I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro 2012. I went ahead and installed dual ssds and used the Mac OS X recovery disk from USB flash drive. I wanted to install WIndows 7 through bootcamp. Bootcamp will not start after selecting continue. I'm not sure if boot camp is corrupted or something I did wrong.

Well you'll need to see if that remote app has an update or if it is compatible with IOS 7.
since you didn't state which remote app your using.

  • Boot Camp Wifi Not Working; Windows Vista 32 Bit

Hey, alright, I got this huge problem. I installed Windows Vista 32-Bit edition on Boot Camp 2.0. I installed the drivers on my Leopard CD. For some reason I can connect to the net on the Leopard side (which I am using right now) and I just can't get a connection on the Windows side. So remember I did install the drivers on the Leopard disc. Also, when I go to device support on Vista, the drivers have yellow triangles beside them. I tried to hook the ethernet cable up and it still won't have an internet connection. I do have the Macbook Pro Aluminum model (newest one) so can someone please help me and tell me what I am doing wrong? Maybe you can tell me a driver I can download to get this working? Thanks!

Boot Camp will not support Vista on newer iMacs, you will need to upgrade to Windows 7. Also as an FYI there is a Boot Camp forum, you can locate it by clicking Apple Support Communities and then in the search field type Boot Camp.
    Best of luck,
    Roger

  • Boot camp will not install windows 7?

I have a 2009 MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo; OS X 10.9.1, 750 Gb HD, Optical Drive: MatshitaDVD-R
    Boot Camp support version 5.1.5640
I can not get Boot Camp to install Windows 7. It will create a partition, but gives me a
“1...2...Select CD-ROM Boot Type“ error and freezes up when attempting to install from Windows install disk in optical drive..
I created a windows7 iso file and installed that on a usb stick, but Boot Camp will not recognize that either.
Is there any way to actually use Boot Camp and Windows on this computer?

Is your Windows 7 cd a full retail version?
You are using the wrong Windows Support software. Look for your computer here: Look for your computer here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634
If your computer came with an optical drive you can not use a usb stick to install Windows.

  • Boot camp will not open EXC_CRASH (Code Signature Invalid)any idears

boot camp will not open says bootcamp has quit unexpectedly any help

Is this on OSX or Wndows Control Panel?
If you modified BCA info.plist by hand, and did not codesign it properly (see man codesign and the --deep qualifier), you will see this error.
Changing this file to allow USB creation is not very beneficial on Macs which originally came with a built-in Optical drive.

  • I have the macBookPro and the problem is the mouse pad does not work I tried everything but still does not work what should i do ?

I have the macBookPro and the problem is the mouse pad does not work I tried everything but still does not work what should i do ?
so i'm using the usb mouse

I want to clarify the issue.
The issue is with the MBP trackpad, and it works fine with an attached USB mouse.
With some ingenuity, you might be able to fix this yourself, but I suggest visiting your local Apple Store/Genius Bar. Some have fixed this issue and have posted their results online, but the Apple Store should be your first destination.
    Post here with your results!!

  • Boot camp will not recognize wireless keyboard/mouse - will they work with a 32bit version of Windows?

I have a new iMac 21.5" - 4GB ram, 3.60 GZ processor.  Installed bootcamp partition with Win 7 Pro 64 bit - it was sealed box.  Could not get it to recognize the bluetooth keyboard/mouse that came with the unit last Thursday.
From page 5 of the instructions, "What You Need" - The Keyboard and mouse or trackpad that came with your computer. (if they are not available use a USB keyboard and mouse.)
I did follow all the instructions for getting the drivers installed.  Went to all sources of info on the subject from Apple support, internet discussions and forums.  It seems that it is a common and seemingly unsolveable problem that Apple does not yet have a solution for.
The question - will the 32 bit Windows 7 Pro have the same problem?

You need 3.1 or better yet the drivers from Lion and Boot Camp 4.0
BC 2.x was only for Vista and XP
You don't actually "run" Boot Camp 2.x as much as partition with the Assistant, and install motherboard support drivers to Windows.
"I am USING Boot Camp 2.x"
    You're running Windows -- natively.

  • Boot Camp will not let me install Windows via external hard drive

    Hi,
I'm having problems installing Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I have the iso file on my external hard dirve and have went to Boot Camp but the following message comes up:
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
At one point i just clicked OK and let Boot Camp install the selected tasks, which formated the disk, copied the Windows files and downloaded the Windows support software but another message came up:
"Install this Windows support software after installing Windows"
It then only gives me an option to Quit...
I would like to add that i tried to install Windows a few days ago and everything was working well up until instead of clicking on "customize" to continue the installation i clicked on "upgrade" then it asked me to remove disk and reboot the computer, i did that and it didn't work. Luckily i got that sorted but wanted to try and install Windows again as it didn't end up getting it installed and this is what is happening now...
Can someone suggest to me what might be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

My other post has been deleted. I will reply to you on this post instead.
I dragged down the Macintosh HD partition via the small triangle at the bottom right hand side of it. It now looks like this:
Is it back to normal now? Can i install Windows now or do i need to do anything else?
Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Tried "everything" LR4.4 will not extract

I know this is a common issue, but I have tried everything I can think of to get Lightroom 4.4 to extract/install. I'm getting the same error that others get "A problem occurred while extracting your files. Check available space, write priviledges, blah blah blah."
I have the same issue trying to install Lightroom 4, Production Premium CS6. Other non-adobe programs install just fine. I have a feeling that when I get one to work, the other one will as well.
This is brand new, fully updated windows 8 64bit laptop.  Plenty of storage space. Admin user.
There are no pre existing installations of any Adobe products except AIR.
I'm not extracting to "Program Files."
I've tried changing the download location, and extraction destinations (user/downloads, user/desktop, root, USB drive)
I only have windows firewall/antivirus and have disabled it.I've tried disabling UAC.
I've downloaded using IE, Firefox, Chrome, and the Adobe download manager (for PP-CS6).
I've tried both wired and wireless network connections.
I've tried "unblocking" but that option only even shows up ocassionally.
    I've tried extracting with 7zip.
I've tried creating new user accounts.
I've tried using another computer. (Same errors ocurring on the other machine)
I've tried running a scan disk.
I've tried turning off all startup services (except MS services).
I've tried downloading/installing an older version (LR4.3). Same issue.
For kicks, tried downloading Photoshop CS6. Used ADA. Same issue.
I had an Adobe tech support person try several things I gave up after 2 hours. For the benefit of any Adobe personnel that may offer assistance, my Case number is 0184225223.
I can't even think of anything else to try. Please. Someone. Help.

I GOT IT! It took creating a forum post to actually list out all the things I tried. Once I did that I realized it just HAD to be something that was not about the computer since I experienced the same issue on multiple coomputers on the same network. I changed up the newtork. I circumvented my Netgear WNDRMAC Router and plugged directly into my Motorola SURFboard. Downloaded and installed Lightroom without a hitch.  Now to see if I can do the same with Production Premium!

  • Boot camp assistant not working correctly...

I'm trying to install Windows 7 using boot camp and everything goes fine and dandy, it partitions and then shuts down and restarts and goes to the installing windows screen and freezes about a tenth of the way through. I'm wondering if it's the drive I'm using or if anyone has any suggestions? Being that I'm running on a Macbook Air, I just bought an LG GP10 external CD/DVD drive. I've tried plugging it in a number of different ways and so far no luck. By that I mean it's one of those drives that needs external power, but it gets the power from two USB drives. When I'm running on my Mac it works fine taking the power from one USB, but for some reason it starts to get weird when it goes to try and install Windows. I don't have two USB ports next to each other and the Y cable it comes with is very short, meant for two USBs next to each other. I also have a Belkin USB hub that I tried using a number of different ways but so far nothing is working... it's very frustrating and I'm just looking for any suggestions anyone might be able to offer. Is it possible power management is the problem? If you need more information or my description wasn't sufficient (I know it's confusing!) just ask, I'll be stalking this forum until I figure this out.

With the BCA 3.0 the Driver Download never worked except for MacBook Airs.
The Boot Driver version 3.0 are located on your OSX Snow Leopard Install DVD.
Boot into Windoes and insert that DVD. Usually the Driver Setup starts automatically.
After that you can use the downloaded Driver Packages 3.1 and 3.2 and install them while in Windows (these are .exe files - only executable in Windows).
    Hope it helps

  • Boot camp will not recognize windows 7 dvd

I have a brand new out of the box version of Windows 7 that I am trying to install on my MacBook Pro via bootcamp.  It took me quite a while to get the HD partitioned but that is now done.  I insert the DVD to install windows and it seems the drive never recognizes it.  I get the following error:
The installer disc could not be found. Insert your windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized.
I have tried to insert the DVD at different times to see if it will be recognized, to no avail.  I have tried to hold the option button during boot up to see if I could install it that way, but it does not show the partitioned drive when I do that.
This is not a burned .iso dvd, this is an original Microsoft DVD.  I have tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit with the same results.  between trying to get the HD partitioned and this I have spent a full 24hrs trying to accomplish this task without success.
    Im running 10.5.8
    2.4 Ghz Dual Core
    8GB DDR3
Over 100 gigs of free space
I partitioned the HD with 35 gigs of free space.

You need 3.1 or better yet the drivers from Lion and Boot Camp 4.0
BC 2.x was only for Vista and XP

  • Boot Camp Assistant Not Working - Mountain Lion, Windows 8

Ok, so I'm trying to dual boot my computer with Mountain Lion and Windows 8. I already have Mountain Lion downloaded, and I have the ISO file for Windows 8 (because I'm a collge student, and our college has a partnership with Microsoft). The problem I'm having is when I lanch Boot Camp Assistant, it takes me through a page or 2. Then it has 2 boxes as options to check ( 1. Download the latest Windows support software from Apple; 2. Install or remove Windows 7), but I can't select the 2nd option... When I select the first, I download the support software, and then it tells me to quit boot camp. So I do, and when I open it back up, it attempts to repeat the same actions.
    What is going on?!?!?!?!

The ISO is on your hard drives.
download a free iso burning program for Mac (we used SimplyBurns Mac). That program runs you through the necessary steps to properly burn the iso file you need. After doing so, Bootcamp recognized the installation file and everything worked as it should.
