Tried everything on here. Any other suggestions?
This is a bit of a strange one. Had my iPod touch (4th generation) for almost four weeks now. The wi-fi worked perfect but not any more. Any suggestions on what to do would be highly appreciated as after trying everything i'm considering taking it back!
It would help us to say what you tried and did not work.

When I go to plug in my iPhone 5 to my PC it will charge my phone but it doesn't show up that it's connected to my computer or in iTunes. I have tried just about everything that I can find in the support discussions but nothing has worked. Any other suggestions?
If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only. -
I have tried connecting my email account to my iPad, had help from my phone company/server tech support. Everything is correct in the advanced settings...but my iPad STILL says my user name & password are incorrect. Any other suggestions?
I interesting note:
MAILBIRD uses port 993 for incoming mail but THUNDERBIRD uses port 143
When uses 143, it kept " checking capabilities...."
then I changed to port 993 (like in MAILBIRD), it said "connected to.....mail," but then "timed out"
Any idea please???? help....extremely frustrated... -
monitor too faint to read. the greays on my monitor are so faint, they're almost impossible to see. especially the numbers of the dates in ical.
i've gone to system preferences and contrast controls. but no luck. any other suggestions? thank youThank you. I didn't know about the universal access adjustment. All the way left is a little better, but still much fainter than on my own imac. I'm not sure why apple uses grey typeface, but it's so faint on this imac monitor that it was difficult to find the "reply" option on this post. Are there any other suggestions? thank you

IPad wifi connection drops - have tried evereything - any other suggestions
Hi all,
I'm experiencing the connectivity issue with my iPad whereby randomly it will stop transmitting data (ie cant go on the Internet). The Wifi symbol is till shown, but there is no data throughput whatsoever. To fix, I have to turn off the wifi on the iPad and turn it on again.
There doesn't seem to be any consistency to when this happens. It isn't related to coming out of sleep or the type of apps I am running. sometimes it will happen in quick succession, other times it won't happen for a few hours or maybe until the next day.
There are two iPhones, a Mac mini and and Vista laptop on the same network and none of them experience this problem. The router is a Sky broadband wireless router. It is set to WPA security.
I have tried:
- upgrading to firmware 3.2.2 and doing a restore
- resetting network settings on iPad
- restarting router
- changing channel of router (have tried 4 different channels so far)
- switching router from mixed (b/g) mode to just g
- forgetting network and reconnecting on iPad
- moving closer to router
- disabling auto-brightness
- setting brightness to maximum
- changing DNS on iPad
I have also tried most tips on this page with no joy:
http://appletoolbox.com/2010/04/special-report-fixing-ipad-wi-fi-issues/
It just seems like nothing is going to work, and I am considering returning this to Apple in the hope of either a replacement or a fix. This problem is really annoying and clearly and issue with the iPad as many other devices have no problems. Even if a replacement router may fix this, clearly the iPad is at fault here.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? If not, what do you think will happen if I take this back to Apple? Perhaps I can get a guarantee that they'll swap it with the next-gen iPad when it comes out?
Looking forward to your advice, thanks for reading.I don't have any real words of help except to say I went through something similar with an iMac. It would drop and pick up the wireless signal repeatedly but often sat there unable to connect. That was solved by something weird, like turning off the "show on screen" option for the airport wireless signal. I don't think you can alter that setting on the iPad though. My point is, if this was a problem out of the box I could see it being the iPad and that maybe getting a replacement unit would work (my wife recently bought a cheap B&N reader that would not access the wireless network, replaced it and everything worked). But if this is a problem that developed over time or just started out of the blue, then maybe it is a corrupted file or something that could be fixed with reinstalling the system. I know when you sync an iPod and iPhone with iTunes you have the option of wiping everything and reinstalling, so I am assuming it's an option for the iPad too. If you haven't tried reinstalling, perhaps that can be a next step.
Good luck!
Good luck!

I tried all suggestions fo a grayed out wifi toggle and nothing seems to be working. Any other suggestions?
I had this problem last month. I ended up having to get a new iPhone 4S. It's a very, very common problem and in my opinion it should be covered by Apple for free since it is so popular and is an obvious hardware defect especially in the iPhone 4S.
So I suggest you order a new iPhone ($230 with no warranty) ($50 with Apple Care+). And while you wait for your new iPhone to come you could back up your iPhone and try some of the YouTube fixs. I put mine in a plastic bag (off with no air in the bag) in the freezer for 30 minutes, pulled it out, turned it back on, let the iPhone thaw out in the bag, and it then worked again for over a week before it died again. But I would only try that if you knew you had a new iPhone on the way. My cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth all went out so I had nothing to lose. -
I m trying to manage space in my iPhone but what I find is I m not able to delete document data alone of an application without deleting the entire application ... Any other suggestions or methods to accompanish this? Any pointers welcome... Is this a bug
You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside? I'd recommend against it. Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money. You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider? Did I understand that correctly? -
Ipad calendar won't save dates. I've tried all resets as well as sync options and it will still not work. Any other suggestions?
What do you mean it won't save date? What exactly are you pressing and what happens or doesn't happen?
Try this:
Open the Calendar App and Tap Calendar at the bottom of the screen. Make sure all calendars have checkmarks, then Tap Done. Do your events show up now? -

After updating my iPad 2 to iOS 6, I cannot connect to my router. I have turned the router off, left off for a considerable time, turned the iPad off and on, reset the network settings, nothing works. Any other suggestions? It is obvious many others are having similar problems, so the iOS 6 looks like a loser.
I have just upgraded from a 3 to a 4S and now I can't connect to my wifi. I've tried everything, resetting network settings, switching to boot, renewing lease, rebooting, turning off cellular data etc etc. nothing works!! Very frustrating!

I can't enable the ownership of my back-up volume via get info. Any other suggestions?
Hi people, My external hard drive is not working well. When I try to make a time-machine back up a window pops up: ‘Mac-OSX can’t repair the disk. You can still open or copy files on the disk, but you can’t save changes to files on the disk. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can’. So now I am trying to copy my back-up files to another disk so I can reformat it. But when I try to do that, the following text appears: The backup files can’t be copied because the backup volume doesn’t have ownership enabled. The problem is that I can’t enable the ownership of the back-up volume.
ALF316 wrote:
Yes its my Time Machine disk that’s damaged. What can I do now? Format the disk and loose all my back-ups?
You may be able to restore individual items, or even an entire backup, as long as you don't happen to hit the damaged area(s). But yes, your only real option is to erase the disk and start over. When you do that, you might want to take the time to have Disk Utility write zeros to the entire disk (see section (b) in the blue box of #1 in Using Disk Utility if you're not sure how to do that) -- if that fails, you know the disk itself is failing and must be replaced. If it succeeds, the drive may be ok.
And how can I prevent this in the future. I know at least I had to have a second back up disk but I never did that.
You probably don't know yet what caused it. If it's the disk failing, obviously you need a new one. Other things that can cause disk corruption are power blips, being disconnected improperly, or your Mac crashing or losing power while the disk is connected, especially during a backup.
For power problems, the best solution is a U.P.S. (battery backup) system. A good surge protector will protect against power spikes, but not dips or sudden loss of power.
I allready tried several times to change ownership with Get Info but I can’t. I don’t see a checkmark and the
section isn’t clickable either. Any other suggestions?
The screenshot is of your TM drive. The message is about the drive you're trying to copy to, such as: -

I need to access (Ultra) scsi-2 68 pin drives but the card is dead. Is there an adapter/converter out there somewhere like my IDE to USB for this? Any other suggestions appreciated.
Might be hard to find, but long ago there were a couple of Firewire<->SCSI adapters, if you have USB2 those might be available also...

I think Belkin made one also.
Might be far cheaper to buy an old Mac or even PC with SCSI. -
