Tried everything... still no luck!
I know this has probably been posted nearly 500 times but I haven't found the answer yet! My last iPod's hard drive crashed so I got a new replacement last month or so. I've been trying ever since got it to get iTunes to display it as a source but it will not do so. I've tried everything mentioned (reset iPod, restored, reinstalled iTunes and iPod, and rebooted). I lost my software CD because I didn't receive a new one when I got my replacement iPod, so it is long gone, but I downloaded the software on this website. (I don't know if this has anything to do with my iPod not working correctly)Anyway, like I said, I've tried everything. I can't switch to Firewire because my computer only has USB ports, so that is the only thing I haven't tried. HELP!!

You can always switch to firewire -- buying the Adaptec 4300 firewire card (for a desktop) will do it. It would be worth a good try here.

Tried everything, still doens't work
So I had a original silver shuffle which was stolen. I loved it, so I bought another one. This one is green.
My original original memory stick style iPod Shuffle never had a single issue beyond moisture... these new iPod Shuffle are just pieces of junk? Or is it just me?
My original Silver Shuffle took me hours to setup and get it to function correctly. I posted for help on the boards here, and got a little. Finally found a post about shutting down iPod service, using the Reset tool, and then a sneaky Enable Disk Use fix. After 3 tries that finally worked for the Silver iPod.
My new Green iPod does not work at all. I've tried all the tricks I can find here on Apple's website and nothing helps.
My Green iPod is recognized by both iTunes and Windows when I plug it in. A window opens up to show me disk contents, which is empty. This is strange as the iPod has NOT been set for Disk use yet, and my iPod Service is running. iTunes sees the iPod and lists it in the sidebar. Any attempt to update, load songs to, change settings on the iPod results in an almost total lockup of iTunes. It freezes for 1 to 2 minutes, and then comes back and reports all is well.
When I then try to copy songs, it tells me the disk can't be found. At this point the iPod is gone from My Computer, but the USB safe eject still shows the device as needing to be ejected, and iTunes still shows the iPod attached.
Anyone out there with a suggestion on how to get this working? I've tried it on a Macbook also... still no luck. I was able to get one song on it once... the song played and all seemed well but further transfer of tunes to the Shuffle crashed it out again.
Help!I tried the iTunes reset, tried the stand alone reset as well... Neither worked. I did SOMEthing later on and got it to work, wish I could have figured out exactly what it was! The silver one was stolen, so sad. Love my greenie though!

Tried everything - Still Lost. Open NAT but can't connect to certain people on Xbox Live.
Title really says it all, really.
Odd thing is that this happened out of nowhere. In November/December of last year we were all playing fine. In January my NAT went from open to strict, so I opened it back up promptly. Out of the blue I can't seem to connect with the two people I actually want to play with, and I am the only one they cannot connect with either, so this has to be on my end, I'd assume. We can play together if there is someone else in our lobby and/or party, and we both join them.
I've tried everything under the sun that I could find, DMZ, disable SPI, Portforward, etc., and none have fixed that little issue, though my NAT remains open.
Things I've found peculiar:
Port Forwarding, in any of the three manners yields no results, with UPNP on or off, though off sets me back to Strict.
Giving my Xbox a Static IP gives it strict, however the automatic assign setting yields open continually.
My ports are never truly open upon testing.
Things I HAVE set already:
Reserved the Xbox's IP which now auto-assigns itself to the last manual IP I attempted, and keeps it at open, along with the MAC address in the DHCP.
I attempted following portforward.com and set my computer to a static IP, and then set my ports. All of them still list as closed on port checker sites, as well as portforward's software.
The set up:
Xbox (Reserved IP, Automatic Assigned by Xbox) > WGA600N Wireless Gaming Adapter > E3000 Router (Firmware Up to date as far as I can tell from the site)
Hopefully someone can come up with a solution here, because I am thoroughly stumped. I know there are many topics akin to this but it seems everyone's is a custom case and not all answers solve one another's problems. Thank you all for any insight you can provide.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
Tried Everything, still cant get rollovers and actions to work

working in GoLive CS2. I am still in the learning stages, but think that this should have been fixed a long time ago.
I know its the Generated Items (CSScriptLib) but cant seem to figure out exactly how. I have made sure everything is linked to its appropriate file on the server. I have encoded into page and vice versa. I have flattened the CSScriptLib. and made sure that it (GenItems Folder) is on the server as well and in the same row as the index4 page. And Synched. Everything that I can rake up to try.
I know that Im missing something stupid. But I just cant seem to get it after looking through everyone else's similar problems.
By the way, the entire thing was working (online) at one point, until I was messing with the stinkin TimeLine Editor for 2 seconds, and then everything went haywire.

EricOkay, so I even tried the Rebuild Script Library Option in the site setting area of my site window tool bar..but nothing. Soooo, I've started over from scratch and everything is going great,....thanks for asking....but now my problem is one ive had before with hidden layers that ive applied time editorness to, and that is that the image with an action to play scene is having that particular scene play in the upper left corner of its own layer box. aldfjlghdgh. So, i would move it in the editor and it would be okay. (that i know of) but this doesn't have a time editor "shadow layer" adfkjaljflaf. that makes no sense does it. forgive me. but anyhoo. this makeshift button doesn't wana show/hide the layer in the spot it's supposed to be in because it's unruly like my kids. It instead puts it into the top left corner of itself when activated. weird huh? haha. im sure this happens all the time to inexperienced fools like myself.

It's set up this way to make some of the fields user definable. Therefore, VisitType is defined by the user and isn't set in stone.

Cell Spacing! Ive tried everything with no luck! Help please!
Hi everyone, Ive read through the forum and see that many other ppl have had the same problems as me when it comes to opening the preview mode and seeing spaces between cells. My cell spacing-padding is 0 so other than that, I understand the best bet is to post the copy of my code and have one of you guzys more experienced in dreamweaver take a look at it. I appreciate any help or input you guys can give me! Regretfully I dont have the site up n running yet so I have to post the looong boring code here in the post. I know its annoying but I have no other choice atm. Thanks again!
P.S. I understand cell layouts are outdated but until Im motivated to really learn CSS, its all I can use =)

It's because other people use the same bad technique that you have used ----> <!--DWLayoutTable-->. Luckily, this horrible operational mode has been removed entirely from DW CS4.
In my opinion, there are three serious problems with Layout Mode -
1. Perhaps most importantly, it sits between you and *real* HTML tables,
and fools you into believing that concepts like "layout cell" and
"autostretch" really mean something. They do not. As long as you use
Layout Mode, you'll never learn one of the most important things for new web
developers - how to build solid and reliable tables.
2. Actually, #1 wouldn't be *so* bad, except that the code that is written
by Layout Mode is really poor code. For example, a layout table contains
MANY empty rows of cells. This can contribute to a table's instability.
In addition, if your initial positioning of the table's cells is a bit complex,
Layout Mode will throw in col- and rowspans aplenty as it merges and splits
cells willy-nillly to achieve the pixel-perfect layout you have specified. Again,
this is an extremely poor method for building stable tables, because it allows
changes in one tiny cell's shape (i.e, dimensions) to ripple through the rest
of the table, usually with unexpected and sometimes disastrous consequences.

3. The UI for Layout Mode is beyond confusing - many options that you might
want to use are inaccessible, e.g., inserting another table, or layer onto the page.
I can understand the new user's desire to use this tool to make their life easier,
but the cost is just too heavy in my opinion.
To make good tables, keep it simple. Put a table on the page, and begin to
load your content. If you would want a different table layout, instead of
merging or splitting cells, consider stacking tables or nesting simple
tables instead, respectively.
And above all, do not try to build the whole page with a single table!
Luckily, Adobe understands the problems created for the unsuspecting user who falls into this trap, and has removed this feature altogether from the current version of DW. The time is right for you to begin working with tables properly!

I am trying to set up my new iPad 2 and to begin I installed iTunes on my laptop and connected the iPad to the USB port. Neither Windows or iTunes recognizes the device. I did everything this site told me to try and still no luck. Help!
You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network. -
I've tried everything but can't access iTunes store from my ipad. Apple ID is fine and logged in to iTunes on pc. Still no luck. Anyone any other alternatives? Thx.
You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

hello I have tried everything to get rid of files that I no longer need in word, when I am finished with them it asks do i want to save them i say no ,but when i open word again the files are still in word ,I have tried to grag them to the trash can no luck, also went to finder to try there but no luck so what am I doing wrong it is very frustrating , as I no longer want these files kept in word ????

HT201407 iPhone 4 activation and restore errors. Tried everything and the phone still won't work
Woke up this morning and looked at my phone. Found an error message saying "iPhone cannot make or recieve calls, please restore through iTunes". So before restoring it I checked the support website to see if there was anything else I could do before I had no other choice than to restore the phone. Followed everything, found the phone still wouldn't work or recieve signal. I restored the phone and now it wouldn't activate, so called Apple and explained to them. Tried everything I was told, (Call my network, original network provider of phone, restore again, try recovery mode, activating with a different SIM card, absolutely everything) and still the phone wont activate. Apple have bent over backwards for me to try solve this but have had no luck, so if anyone else has experienced this and had any luck fixing it can you please share any info with me as I'm now effectively stuck in a contract without a phone or an option to renew the phone or one to put my SIM card into. iTunes also thinks 6.1.3 is the latest software but I have seen users with 6.1.4
The phone is an iPhone 4 16GB originally locked to Orange UK but has been working fine with a T-mobile UK SIM.
I've spent a couple of hours looking on the Internet and had no luck at all so any replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.Are there any other errors that you are receiving? The exact error helps. You say it was locked to Orange, did they unlock the device? Or did you do something else to make the device work with the other SIM. There are a number of issues regarding activation, and many deal with trying to activate a device that has been locked to a carrier, hacked to work with another and then locked back when the device is updated. Would any of this pertain to you?
