Tried for 2 days to download version 2.1 - error 3259

I have tried and tried to download this update but can't get past 128K before I receive the dreaded 3259 error. I've re-downloaded and installed Itunes8 and rebooted my PC without the firewall and antivirus. No deal. Is the demand for the firmware so great that the servers are that overloaded, or is there something I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! and thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried that because I can't get the update to download from Apple to my computer. I figured if I hadn't even gotten the update file from Apple there was probably no way I'd get a restore to work. I'm worried that if I do start the restore and then can't get it to work that I'll be left with a useless little black paperweight.
What I tried today was completely uninstalling my firewall and antivirus software, uninstalling Itunes and cleaning up all of the leftover directories from those software packages. Then I redownloaded Itunes and reinstalled it. Just hooked up my ipod and started the upgrade again but it's still behaving the same way - just downloading a few bits at a time and will probably timeout any second now. It's been running for about 5 minutes and only downloaded 1.4MB. Yep, it just timed out.
I've also tried to do the update on another Vista laptop and an XP laptop, both with no luck. I'm on broadband and normally a file of that size only takes on the order of minutes to download. I'm really at wits end trying to figure out why other downloads take no time at all but this one just won't work.
Any other thoughts?

Your issue is completely different. You are running Snow Leopard. There is no download for Windows Support software for Snow Leopard, hence the error you see. Snow Leopard Windows Support software is on the Snow Leopard installation disk.
You need the Snow Leopard installation disk or a replacement for it.

Take it somewhere that has better broadband. The best you can do sometimes is invest in new modem that works with your system instead of the rental etc in most cases.
Do a Safe Boot.
Make sure your firewall is set properly. Don't use 3rd party. AV software can get in the way.
Make sure you are getting the service and a clean strong modem signal - slow is one thing but if it drops off and can't maintain a connection you have hardware issues, not software - and upgrade to a new OS doesn't tend to improve, it may even not work with older networking equipment once you do get it.
I agree and think electronic only goes too far. And when you do get it: burn the package and manually set it aside first before running the intaller! make a flash memory installer, put it on DVDs too.

I have trying for days to download Firefox 4.1. It goes through all the motions, but when it gets to the final step, it can't connect with the download server. What should I do? It keeps telling me this download is strongly recommended.

When Downloading OS4, I get error 3259

So I just got a new computer after not having a computer for about a year or so. The last update that I have for my 16 GB 3rd Generation iPod Touch is update 2.2.1.I'm trying to update my iPod to the newest software, and when I try to update it, I get this message: "There was a problem downloading the software for the ipod 'XXXXXXX's iPod'. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
When I look in the downloads section, it's error 3259. I tried removing my firewalls and everything, and the support articles at apple don't help. Please help me!

Trying for Days Just to Create a Project - How?

I've been reading the help files and experimenting for days and simply cannot get through the very first step of creating a project in iMove. When I click the "New" button and I then click "Movie" it comes to Themes.
So I pick the "Modern" theme. When I click on create it keeps bringing up this screen that is impossible to fill out with two entries:
Name
Event
I can fill in a name but it keeps showing "Events" (whatever they are...no explanation) that have absolutely nothing to do with the movie I'm trying to create. Is there some way to get rid of this "Event" option?   There is nothing in there with any of the photos or videos I want to use in my movie. Where is it coming from? What does it mean?
I cannot find an explanation of what an "Event" is. I just want to create a darn movie project with my clips.    Who cares about events?

I would like to be able to add some movie clips and photos to a very short movie.   I tried dragging some movie clips from the Finder to anywhere on the left hand side but nothing can be dropped there. Every attempt is rejected.   Are movie clips "Events"?

I wonder, if you may want to clean up your system first. You could try to scan and repair permissions on that machine, make sure no disc errors, and also do a final pram reset. Then try to re-install again.
If the install still halts, then re-download the installer.

Downloading podcasts I get error = 3259

Recently I updated iTunes to version 7.5.0.20 and have had nothing but problems. Most recently when I try to download anything (music purchase, audio book, tv shows, audio/video podcasts) I'll get an error message that looks like this: stopped (err = 3259). An iTunes pop up window then tells me that the network connection has timed out.
If I repeatedly try to download something eventually I will get it, but I should not have to do that.
I have reinstalled iTunes more times than I can remember (upwards of 15 times)and that does not appear to be helping at all. Any thoughts on what is going on here?

THis just started happening for me after i moved to leopard, i keep getting the 3259 error, but the worst part is that i knocks out my router, and i have to restart it every time. i only use itunes for podcast, and some aren't even that big and it still happens. i went back to the previous version of itunes to see if that helped, but no luck there either. i also tried unchecked allow simultaneous downloads, it worked a for a little bit but then it started happening again.
i just cant figure out why it knocks out my router, i wouldn't be as ****, if it didn't do that.

Every time i purchase a song it says for example: There was a problem downloading “It's Not My Time / It's Not My Time - Single / 3 Doors Down”.

several issues were related to poor band width. Even though my cable dsl was considered high speed, I needed to upgrade to the next level up of high speed internet with my ISP to get full band width. As soon as this change took place, all my downloading issues were resolved. It had nothing to do with the itunes software.
