For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I updated the latest version of iOS software on my Macbook Pro and now when I try to open up iPhoto it says that I need to update the latest version. But when I go to update on iTunes, it says the latest version is unavailable to the U.S. I wouldn't mind leaving it be but I can't access any of my photos. What do I do?

iOS is on iPhones and iPads.
Are you using an iPhone or iPad? -
"Some of the required files are missing" in iTunes 10.3.1.
Hi there:
Apple Software Update recently updated my version of iTunes to 10.3.1, but I can no longer open the program. I receive the error message "Cannot open iTunes. Some of the required files are missing."
I've reinstalled iTunes twice, to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7 Premium 32-bit.
Thanks!
JonHi! The repair install didn't work, but rather than trying to install iTunes on top, I uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime and reinstalled them, and iTunes runs again. I'm glad it didn't erase my library!
Thanks for your help. -

I have an iphone6 16gb and the device storage is showing more than what i have installed in it. A few days ago suddenly i got a popup window of my device storage getting full though i hardly had 4-5 apps and 500mb of photos. I tried restoring the phone and using it again as a new phone, i got my 10gb of storage but it still holds around 900 mb of storage which is not accounted. When i connect my phone to itunes, around 868mb is shown in the others section. I have no backed up data except for the contacts which are there in the icloud account. i dont understand what is that 868 mb of data.
This space is taken up by iOS 8.

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.' Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times. Now what?
I figured it out. A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help. So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean. And it worked. I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked! And I lost nothing from my account.
Maybe this info will help others. -
I have Windows XP & until recently i-Tunes was working fine. Now when I try to open I get this message "i-Tunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall i-Tunes. So I did. Midway thru ,installation stops & same message is repeated. So I uninstalled i-Tunes, Downloaded new one, went thru installation process for the same result & same message. Have tried procedure 4 times, resulting in same result each time. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did try to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my computer. I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup. This was not helpful at all. I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all. Geeze.......

I have a macbook pro 17" 1,1 model (early 2006), but I do not have installation discs.
If I order a replacement, what version is it?
Can I install the latest version 10.8.4 in 1,1 model?
If it is possible, what I have to do to get it done? And the price?
ThanksMacBookPro1,1 can only run Mac OS X 10.6.8, as it has got a 32-bit processor.
If you order replacement DVDs, Apple will send you DVDs with the original Mac OS X version that came with your Mac, in this case, Mac OS X 10.4.5.
If you decide to get replacement DVDs, Apple will only charge you for the delivery -
iTunes will not open because a dialog box pops up with "Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.". I have done so a few times to no avail. Any solutions for this problem?
No you will not lose your content reinstalling iTunes.
Do this:
1: Download and run the Registry Cleaner of the free Ccleaner.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
2: Next follow this Apple document to un-install iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
3: Just for good measure, run Ccleaner again
4: Reinstall iTunes.
5: Come back here and click my "Correct answer" button. -
Itunes cannot run because some of the required files are missing?
This morning when I turned on my computer my itunes was suddenly not working. When I double click the desktop icon to open it up, I get an error message that reads:
iTunes cannot run because some of the required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.
I searched the FAQ archive and still cannot find an answer to my problem.
THe last part of the error message says to reinstall itunes, but I cannot even get the corrupt version off. Is there anyway to save the music I have on here? Another user and I have separate iTUnes music, so a great deal of music will be lost, including things recently purchased.Thank you so very much. I don't know why I didn't think of that but it is up and running fine now

I am constantly getting a message which says "iTunes cannot run because some of it's required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes." I've reinstalled a number of times and re-booted but it only seems to last a short time. How do I fix it?
HI daddio,
Ok some things first I need to know...Did you use Microsoft cleanup utility to clean up all those uninstalls you have done?
I hate Norton and anyone who reads my posts will know that. I have seen way too many infected PC's by Norton users. Did you try the EWIDO and AdAware scan? I see you said you read lots of posts. That is helping folks remove the malware in order to get iTunes and quicktime back to health. -
I have the Mac OS 10.9.4 I am unable to read PDF's, so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader. It will not install. Is it comparable with my Mac OS?
More information would be good.
What do you mean by "unable to read PDF's". How are you trying to read them and what exactly happens when you try?
so thought I would download the latest version of Adobe Reader. It will not install.
Again, what exactly is happening?
And yes, the latest version should be compatible with your OS. -
