Problem continues after computer restart.

Compact your folders. Deleting a message marks it for deletion and hides it. The disk space is not freed up until folders are compacted.
Using the Compact command under File does all floders. You can right clcik a folder and select Compact to do just that folder.
Compacting is a normal maintenance item and should be donr regularly.

is this an IMAP mail account? If so
Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > server settings and set expunge on exit.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

Hello.. I'm seeing all my emails from all my accounts located in the "spotlight search" feature of my iPad and iPhone4. What's most troubling is, there are emails that have previously been deleted. I have confirmed over and over that all trash folders for accounts are emptied as well as all other folders.. I empty the trash very regularly. When I select an email from the list in the spotlight screen, it will take me to an in box for that email where it may or may not exist.. Often it opens another persons email all together.. The bottom line is that I can not delete these emails and it's very nerve racking... Any help is greatly appreciated. Than you..

Thank Goodness for Time Machine. I was able to restore from a recent back up.
However as a follow up I now have a glitch in that Icloud email will only restore from oldest to newest. My Icloud.com account is fine. All my email are in chronological order from newest to oldest.
With the help of support from this site I was able to confirm that the problem is not resolved by disabling mail and then enabling again or even from deleting the Icloud Email Account and then reloading. It is exactly the same.
The only way I can get yesterday's email on my devices is to load 5000 emails starting back in 2010.
I think I caused a glitch when I was restoring from Time Machine. It was late at night and it was taking a long time so I went to bed thinking it would just continue on. Well i should have taken my computer out of Sleep Mode because my Imac must have powered down somehow causing the glitch.
Although you would think that I would also have a corrupted email account on Icloud.com
who knows....... the reason why i tend to live with problems rather than correct them because i hate it when stuff like this happens when you do................

How do i open Webpageicons.db? I'm trying to delete my favicons. Way back some time ago I think instead of deleting the items inside the favicons file I sent the whole folder to the trash. So now I don't have a file folder, its a document page that Adobe Reader states it can't open. A pop up window reads: Adobe Reader could not open 'WebpageIcons.db' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). First of all I don't know what db is. Is it a document? Is there anyway to change "db" into something that can be opened. I have 10.7mb in Webpageicons.db that need to be deleted. My Imac is loading pages very slowly and I think starting by emptying the favicons it may help. I have a iMac 3.2 Ghz intel Core i3 with 4 gb of memory. It's running OS X 10.6.8. Try putting the file in the trash, but don't empty the trash. Restart your browser and see if web pages load any better. The file is a database file, which may have become corrupt.

Have your husband text the word "stop" to 48369. This should take his number out of the iMessage system.
Go into your settings under messaging and make sure the box to send as an SMS if iMessage is unavailable is checked.
Hopefully this will get your messages sending/receiving to each other.

i have tried this new charset combination specifically for iphone and i m waiting for response from sweden alliance.....i hope this works fine as iso works great for 8-bit characters.

Anyway, as I mentioned, I don't use any sync-able email, just a very plain-jane POP email provider. iSync reports no devices and has nothing in its log, which matches my never having installed anything in need of syncing.
The thing is, if Mail says its sending something when nothing was ever sent, that's a largish bug whether it is actually sending something or isn't, and there isn't really enough info here to know which of those are the case. Maybe Mail just displays "Sending" because an attempt to do something reasonable is timing out, maybe it does an innocuous and normal POP thing using very confusing nomenclature, or maybe it's really trying to send something which has a wrong flag or something. There isn't really enough info to know what is going on, so I was hoping someone could identify the symptoms.

First off, did you check your internet conection? Your network connection might not be very strong. Try powering your device and turning it on again, see if that works.
