Tried to delete iCloud account from my iPad but won't delete

I have an old iCloud account - apple id [email protected] (can't access, can't delete from iPad).  Don't know password, associated email or answer to secret question.  It is making my iPad very difficult to use by constantly asking for iCloud password.  Followed the steps to delete iCloud account and it asks for a password which I no longer have.

Hi, danfdent.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • How to delete iCloud account from your iPad Mini with iOS 7. It's previous owner, and I do not know the password.

    Please help me

You can't. You'll have to contact the previous owner to have them do it or give you their credentials. If you cannot contact them or they are unwilling to provide you with that info, then you are out of luck.

What will happen if I delete my husband's iCloud account from my iPad?

You can delete the iCloud Account from your device but that doesn’t delete your account on iCloud.com. You can still use the user name and password you selected when signing up for iCloud to log in on the iCloud website.

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must use the previous owner's password to get permission to use the device. If you cannot get the password your father put on the iPad you will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • I can't delete my icloud account from my ipad.

I can't delete my icloud account from my ipad. It keeps saying "Cannot delete icloud account" "there was a problem deregister isn't this ipad with icloud. Try deleting your account again." I've updated to the latest software update and done a network reset on my ipad. But nothing seems to work. Also my ipad doesn't  allow me to update any applications. i think there might be something wrong with my account.

    Hello Cheryl,
If you are stuck trying to remove your iCloud account, then try restoring your iPad. Start with turning off Find My iPad and then use iTunes to restore it. Check out the article below for the steps on how to do that.

You will need the password. If you can't get it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com (if you remember the answers to the account's security questions then you should be able to reset it via them) then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset it.

  • How do i delete my iCloud account from my iPad with an updated Apple ID?

How do i delete my iCloud account from my iPad with an updated Apple ID?
It requires i log into FindMyiPad to delete the iCloud account however the Apple ID has changed therefore the username/password no longer exists.
This is just sending me in circles to log into to a non-existant apple id with no password to delete my iCloud so i can log in with my updated apple ID.

Settings/iTunes and App Store log out then log in with new ID.  you might want to change ID in iMessage, FaceTime and Siri and delete the cloud account and create one with new ID.  remember apps are forever linked to the ID used to download them and can only be updated with that ID

How do I delete my iCloud account from my iPad 2 when I don't know the password to that account?

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • If I delete iCloud account from iPad will it still keep account to LATER be used on another IOS device?

my son has given his old iPad to my wife. if I delete his iCloud account from her iPad. Can he later, in a month, use that account on a new iPad. Or does the data in the cloud disappear if it is not linked/synced with a device?

Deleting the account from a device does not delete the account or its contents. He will be able to use it later.

If the iCloud account you are trying to delete is old ID that was later updated to change it to your current ID, you can go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. • How do I remove an iCloud account from an iPad?

My aunt set up my grandmother's iPad and used her iTunes/iCloud information.  My grandmother wanted to be able to buy things from the store so I created an account for her with iTunes, but I can't figure out how to remove my aunt's Apple ID from the iPad.
I need to back up her information to the iCloud so she doesn't loose the information and apps before I can reset her iPad, but right now I can only back it up to my aunt's account which would put me right back where I am now.
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Thank you so much for your fast response! We were worried that deleted my aunt's iCloud account from the iPad would delete it everywhere and she would loose her information.
I don't have an iPad so I was flying blind.

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:
                     GarageBand 6.0.5
GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system.  But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio.  Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.
