Tried to downgrade to xorg 1.6

Hey!
I have an Ati X700 Mobility and my laptop crashes every few minutes with xorg 1.7. First I worked with it and I thought with the first patches of xorg the problems will be erased. But now with Version 1.7.3.901.1 I also have the same problems and I can't work with this machine, but I have to. KMS also doesnt work with it. So I tried to downgrade to xorg 1.6 with this repo (http://doorknob60.is-a-geek.org/xorg-old/i686), but I have this error:
pacman -S xorg-server
Warnung: Downgrade des Paketes xorg-server (1.7.3.901-1 => 1.6.3.901-1)

Fehler: Nicht lösbare Paketkonflikte gefunden

:: xorg-server: steht im Konflikt mit xf86-input-evdev
So how can I downgrade my xorg to 1.6?
Best regards!

Ok, here is my everything.log . At this time, my xorg crashed 3-4 times. One time I opened kate, the other one I click with the right mouse button on the desktop and the other one I opened firefox.

I'm trying to downgrade my icloud storage; however, my MAC book will not upgrade pass 10.6.8 and I don't have my iphone anymore.  If there another way for me to do this?  I've tried everything I can find online and of course my coverage has expired and can't call the support team.

    Hello Lara,
have you already called Apple and explained your current situation, because I don't see a way to downgrade your storage plan with a Mac only running Snow Leopard and without a iOS device running at least iOS 5.
    Best regards.

  • Need help in the process of trying to downgrade back to iPhoto '09...

I want to see all the exif info for my photos as I am getting into DSLR photography.  This is one of the reasons I am trying to downgrade back to iPhoto '09 from '11 amongst other reasons; one being I just preferred it (and I have been using '11 since January and still want to downgrade).  Anyway, this is what I have done so far:
Reinstalled iPhoto '09 from an old time machine backup in December '13 from before I upgraded late December.  Then with the help of a youtube video I found I created a new iPhoto Library for '09 and was in the process of importing all my pics when 3/4 of the way through, my hard drive reached capacity and the importing quit.  When I go into iPhoto '09 now, there are no pics.  So I spent yesterday buying a large external hard drive and the past 18 or so hours formatting it for mac and moving files so now I have a bit more room on my internal 1tb hard drive.
So I am guessing I should next go to the newly created iPhoto library on my internal hard drive and delete all (not to mention this will free up more room on it).  Then what I want to do is create a new library for iPhoto '09 on my new 3TB external hard drive and then import all the pics there.  Can I create the iPhoto Library on an external drive?
If I am able to do the above and import all my pics and iPhoto '09 seems to be working properly, can I then go in and delete the iPhoto '11 app without causing problems?  Am I right to believe that all my pictures, even the ones I imported to iPhoto '11 directly from a mail attachment, will not be deleted if I delete the iPhoto '11 app?
I don't want to find myself with 2 iPhoto programs, neither of which function.  Thanks in advance!

You need the version of iPhoto that you wan tot use installed and then follow the IPLM directions
    http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/Help/downgrading%20a%20library%20to%20an%20ea rlier%20version%20of%20iphoto.html
Downgrading a library to an earlier version of iPhoto
If you have a library from a newer version of iPhoto that you simply want "downgrade" to an older version of iPhoto, the easiest way to do that is with the "Rebuild Library" command. You will want to be running iPhoto Library Manager on the machine that has the older version of iPhoto you want to convert the library to. This will create a new library and import the entire contents of the original library into the new one using the older version of iPhoto. As with any rebuild, there are some items that will not be included (most notably, hidden photos, books, calendars, and slideshows), but if you have none of these items or don't mind losing them in the downgrading process, then this is a decent option for converting a library to an older version.

I'm trying to downgrade my storage on my ipod but when I chose my new storage i'm not able to complete the choice because the 'done' button doesn't do anything. can someone please give me some advice?

Are you choosing a different plan before tapping Done?
To downgrade, you should be doing the following:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Tap Change Storage Plan.
Tap Downgrade Options and enter your Apple ID password.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
    Tap Done.

Downgrading to an earlier iOS version is not supported by Apple. You will get no help with this direct from Apple or here.

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

  • (Solved) package-query trying to downgrade pacman

i want to install yaourt on my system. one of its dependencies package-query (also AUR) depends upon pacman <= 3.6 for installing, while i have pacman 4.0.0rc1-1 on my system. so when i try to install it, it tries to downgrade my pacman to 3.5.4-4.
is there a way around it? any suggestions would be welcome, even if its very unlikely (i would love to tinker)

help!!  i am trying to downgrade my ipod but it won't let me it keeps saying that there is an error.

That is because Apple does not support downgrading the iOS.

  • Trying to downgrade to Leopard OS - no time machine backup

    Hi,
I am trying to downgrade to Leopard 10.5 (the boot disk when I purchased my macbook) from Snow Leopard and I am having difficulties.
I noticed the 'Previous Systems' folder under the hard drive folder, and that is taking up all of the hard drive space. Can I reinstall my applications and preferences etc that way?

Well.... I have found my answer...
    http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20070507084548849
"Prepare to migrate your stuff You are now in a completely vanilla Mac OS X world. All old stuff appears to be missing, but it isn't; it is all in a top level directory called Previous Systems, probably in a subdirectory called Previous System 1. Here you'll find your old Applications folder, for example, and in the Users directory you'll find the home directories of all previous users, complete with all their data.
*The idea now is to copy those applications and that data from their place in the Previous Systems directory into the corresponding place in the newly installed, clean system**. You may encounter permissions restrictions that prevent you from doing this easily in the Finder. If so, there are two simple solutions:"

  • My iPod touch 4G will not work after I tried to Downgrade it from iOS 5 to iOS 6

My iPod touch 4G will not work after I tried to Downgrade it from iOS 5 to iOS 6. The screen is black and it doesn't work.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hank did Google maps give you turn by turn functions NO
Are the new maps complete far from it but they are based on crowd technology -IF you have information for your locality share it and it will be added to the servers.
Yes its 1.0 software but it WILL get better as the data base builds.
Further Apple were paying license fees to competing Google that they don't now.
The GPS, and raw data from TomTom that powers the new Maps are actually quite accurate.
If you want to see street view you still can by adding a link/home icon after visiting
http://www.viewstreetnoflash.com in safari on your iOS device.
Turn by turn is NEW and free to use functionality within Maps and that was NOT in Google Maps.
Prior to you had to spend £50+ on a decent (Still do really) TBT app from Garmin or Tom Tom.
In the apps store there are 100s of Mapping apps covering a multitude of countries and regional transportation systems around the world.
GPS and walking maps are also available.
You have lost nothing really other than Street View natively.
However imo I do think flyover, and similar technologies seen competing Bing and even Google Maps looks good but is actually functionally useless.

well i am trying to downgrade to 6.1.2 but i can't

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.
