Tried to order prints of photos it tells me resolution may be too poor

every photo I put in my album has the same alert when I try to order any size. I think I may have imported the photos as previews rather than 'photos'.
I couldn't tell how else to see what I was downloading other than in preview. The 'how to page' does not go into enough detail for idiots like me!
I am ready to cry because I have spent hours downloading and this is supposed to be so easy and awesome and I really wish I had my 35mm camera back so I could drop off the film and get my photos in an hour. Someone PLEASE help tell me the easiest way to import photos from a CD so I can get some prints and do photo books.

I went to file-import to library-photos-previews-then it showed me roll 1, roll 2, etc then I looked at the photos I wanted and imported them.
I don't see how the pics could be low res. I'm no ansel adams, but I've had prints made off this camera before from the cheap little machine in the store and they turned out fine.
Well it took hours because I don't know how to use iphoto, so I read some of the useless info, then I took time to view the thumbnails and import only the photos I wanted and then I sorted them into albums. Well quick and simple was the promise . . . so far hating this.
What do you mean by dock?
I am new to Mac so bear with me

  • Iphoto crashes when trying to order prints

I've been trying to order prints from my brand new imac through photo and every time the program crashes when it says it's uploading..As far as i am concerned it's not uploading. The bar doesn't even show up indicating its progress. I've left it for hours and nothing. Finally, i transferred the photos to my macbook pro and the order processes just fine. Any ideas what the problem is on my imac and how to fix it? Both computers have the newest OS and iphoto.

I had a client with the same problem today. A call to Apple Support confirmed my suspicions. The problem is the servers are overwhelmed and can't handle the volume. So the graphic of the cute little piece of paper sticking out of the cute little envelope just stays on the screen and iPhoto hangs.
Hello, Apple. This is a HUGE bug. iPhoto is not fault tolerant and just hangs. The only way out is to force quit.
So to all who are suffering this issue, don't bother trying to fix it on your end. The problem is on the server side.

  • Ordering prints from Photos in iOS??

I no longer see an option to Order Prints of photos on my iPhone as one of the share options.  Is Apple no longer offering this service?

It seems that when you edit a photo using iPhoto for iOS it does not save the GPS data back to the file. So, it automaticaly removes the GPS data. I bet this is not the intended behavior. You can verify this by editing a photo with iPhoto for iOS, save the photo to the camera roll, then use another app to take a look at the gps exif data and you will see that it is gone.

  • Ordering prints of photos that were downloaded from the internet

Hey I'm new here and I wanted to order prints of a bunch of photos in my iphoto library that were not taken with my camera. I saved pictures and screenshots of different bands that I got online to my library and wanted to print them out so I could put them in my room. So will these pictures come out okay? Any advice? Like what size print I should order or just anything else you might find helpful.

    Ms. Chainsaw
Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
I saved pictures and screenshots of different bands that I got online to my library and wanted to print them out so I could put them in my room. So will these pictures come out okay? Any advice? Like what size print I should order or just anything else you might find helpful.
That all depends on the pixel dimensions of the pictures you downloaded and he size of prints you want - Apple will give you a warning if you are likely to have a quality problem - your choice then is to order a smaller print or have poorer quality for your print - the larger the pixel size of the original digital photo to the better
The minimum size for prints with no warnings is 150 dpi
    4 x 3 prints - 600 x 450 pixels
    4 x 6 prints - 600 x 900 pixels
    5 x 7 prints - 750 x 1050 pixels

  • Error when trying to order prints through costco

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 running on Windows 7 64 bit.   When iclick on Create and Order prints from Costco - the window opens but says "We are sorry, it appears you have encountered an error."   Any idea will be appreciated.

I have the same problem.  I know this was an issue several months ago, but they fixed the problem and it was working fine.  Now, I can't get connected to Costco again.  I really like this feature when it works, so hopefully they will get the issue resolved quickly!
I take that back!!!  I just tried it again this morning and it is working fine!!  Thank you whoever fixed it!

  • I'm trying to order prints via iPhoto. I correctly go through the process but when I click "buy"(1-click is enabled), I'm told that my account info has changed and to go in and confirm or approve my Account Info. However the info is correct and updated.

I'm told when trying to order that I must approve account info. I do that, over and over but always get the same screen. Now i'm told I can get help for this issue but must pay for it, as it is "technical support".

Log into your online Apple account, Account, click on Change Account Information and reenter all of the information in your account.  It might be that the expiration date on your credit card and passed and needs to be updated. That's what happened to me.  In any case, reenter all of the information, save, relaunch iPhoto and try again.

  • When I'm printing a photo it tells me there are no themes installed.

When I am printing photos in iphoto it tells me I can't because there are no themes attatched.

You'll need to reinsrtall iPhoto. To reinstall iPhoto:
On all Macs running Snow Leopard or Earlier
1 - delete the current application and, , all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
    (10.5 and earlier) - HD/Library/Receipts folder
    or from the
    (10.6) - /var/db/receipts/  folder
On all Macs with Lion or Later Pre-installed
Deleting receipts is not necessary if your Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled.
Finally re-install iPhoto from the source it came from originally:
1 - (10.6 or earlier) from the disks that came with the Mac  or an iLife disk.
2 - (10.7 or later) from the App Store .

  • How can i order prints of more than one photo at a time?

Hi I am trying to order prints of more than one photo at a time but can only select one photo - if I press command it just jumps to the next photo, not allowing me to select multiple photos.
    Thanks

Easiest way is to make an album of the photos you want to order, crop them to the print size, select all and order

  • Uploading failed when trying to order a printed book

I have been trying to order/print a book thru iPhoto.  Everything works fine until the uploading process-- then I get an error message saying that an asset failed to upload and to retry.  I have tried changing security settings as well as addressing the iPhoto plist as was suggested in this site.  Any thoughts?

    does it preview correctly -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
and providing details helps - what version of iPhoto? Is OS X 10.9.5 as you state correct? have you tries uploading in Safe Mode - OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support - what is the exact error message?

  • Problem ordering prints

    Hello,
I tried to order prints from iphoto and my order was cancelled 3 times. I sent an email to Apple & received the following response:
Thank you for contacting iPhoto Customer Support.
Unfortunately we were not able to complete your order because some of your photos did not meet the recommended sizes. Since we cannot modify content after an order is submitted, your order has been cancelled, and you have not been charged.
Apple recommends using iPhoto or another image-editing application to adjust your images to the proper aspect ratio before submitting them. These are the recommended minimum image sizes:
    4 x 6 print = 640 x 480 pixels
    5 x 7 print = 1024 x 768 pixels
    8 x 10 print = 1024 x 1536 pixels
    16 x 20 print = 1600 x 1200 pixels
    20 x 30 print = 1600 x 1200 pixels
    Wallet prints = 320 x 240 pixels
Images that are not constrained to the aspect ratio of the print size you are ordering are automatically cropped during processing.
I have a Canon powershot sd500. Do I really need to crop all my photos before ordering prints?
    Chris

Do I really need to crop all my photos before ordering prints?
In a word, yes. The prints must be in the same ratio as the print ordered so that you will get on the print what you see on the monitor. You can't squeeze pixels that are in a one ratio into a different ratio and maintain distortion free images. You'd have to squeeze or stretch some pixels to fit the new size. That wouldn't look good. It's just the nature of the beast.

  • IPhoto won't order prints

I'm trying to order prints of images. I select the images, sizes, and quantities and click "Buy Now". I am then prompted that my browser session has ended or is no longer valid. I'm not using a browser. I'm in iPhoto. If I go online to the apple store to look at my account. I can log in without any problem as well as this support community. The prompt tells me that I can continue to checkout by clicking on Return to Checkout. Well, there is no return to checkout button just a close.
I'm starting to think that Apple products are slowly starting to just not work.
Anyone have any ideas or same experience?

I got the solution: iPhoto is using Safari in order to place orders. Thus, you have to enable cookies in Safari (worked for me) and/or check for any other problems with Safari.
    Good Luck!

  • Iphoto 6 cannot order prints

My Mom has an eMac running tiger and she is using iPhoto 6. She tried to order prints from Apple Photo Service, but was told she needed to upgrade. My question is what version does she need to upgrade to in order to get prints. I doubt that her machine could handle iPhoto 11 and it would also be too radical a change for her.
    Thanks

Here are the system requirements for iLife 08:
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 processor
iMovie ’08 requires a Mac computer with an Intel processor, a Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0 GHz or faster), or an iMac G5 (1.9 GHz or faster)
iDVD ’08 requires 733MHz or faster processor
512 MB of RAM; 1 GB recommended; high-definition video requires at least 1 GB of RAM
3 GB of available disk space
    DVD drive required for installation
See this article for information about Quartz Extreme-compatible graphics cards.
    Software
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
    QuickTime 7.2 or later
You mom probably could run iLife 08 except for iMovie (it's best to keep iMovie 6 HD as it's far better than the newer versions).  The first eMac would not be able to run iDVD. You can get used copies from Amazon.com for around $20.  eBay has them for as low as $13 (new, sealed).

  • Network error when ordering prints

I have been trying to order prints of over 1,000 of my photos and they appear to upload just fine and I am able to put in 1 4x6 on all photos. Then, it goes to a grey connecting line, which eventually turns blue. After awhile I get the network error message. I've tried several times over the last week to order the pictures and the same thing happens each time. Is there a limit to how many you can order at once? Do I need to split my order into two separate orders?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You very well may be getting timed out on the upload/order process. I'd try splitting the order in two and see if that will go thru unimpeded.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
