Tried to purchase an iTunes gift card via email online from my iTunes account to myself but was unsuccessful. My credit card details are correct and so is everything else. Why can't I complete the transaction?
Can I buy myself an iTunes gift card from my own US iTunes account? Tried to do this online but transaction could not be completed. Response I got was to contact Apple iTunes Support. Please help.
If you haven't already done so then you will need to do as the message says and contact iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums, we won't know why you are getting the contact message) :
- go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww
- click on your country's flag
- click on the Contact Support at the bottom of the left-hand column
- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
- then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -
Why can't I change the transaction isolation level?

This is a case for the iTunes store support.
Go to expresslane.apple.com and choose 'itunes', then ' iTunes store'
Select your topic ( billing and account or something like that) and then ' can't purchase in store'
continue and send an email to iTunes store support explaining your situation, this is not a technical issue but an issue with your account.
The itunes store support will look into it.

This happens on both my Macs: Macbook running OS 10.4, and iMac running OS 10.5. The message doesn't say which privilieges I needs, nor anything about being the administrator, but on the iMac I am the administrator, and on the MacBook I have administrator privileges.

Your post's title says credit card, but in your post you say debit card - which one is is ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management.
For the $60, each time that you try to add or change your card details (how many times did you try to add the card ?) a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option.
