  • Why do I face error 7 Windows error 193 when i try to reinstall my iTunes? I've tried few times uninstalling and reinstalling but it seems that it doesn't work.

Since yesterday, I failed to update the latest iTunes. Today i tried to open iTunes but it says iTunes were not installed properly. And this error 7 (Windows error 193) popped out. I tried to search the solution by people suggestions, which is uninstall all the apple program and reinstall it again. I tried few times but the same thing came out. What am I suppose to do for this problem?

So each time you have tried to install an older build you have followed the removal steps given in the second box of my user tip, or some similar process, that uninstalls all Apple software components, and cleans the folders those components would have installed to, rebooted, and then tried an alternate build?
Do you recieve any error messages during the installation? Have you, for example, tried the process outlined at Install Missing Components? If so which component will not install and what error message does it give you? I can point you in the direction of steps to generate installation logs if you wish. Actually, see my post in this thread: Can't install iTunes 12.1 on Windows 7 64-bit.
    Which builds have you tried?

  • Keep getting error message when I try to reinstall itunes

I tried to install the latest update but got an error message. Uninstalled itunes now cant get it reinstalled. Keep getting error messages

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • I am getting an error message when I try to reinstall itunes (after I accidentally removed bonjour).

When itunes is installing a window pops up that says service 'apple mobile device' failed to start.  Any ideas?

To everyone that is having this problem:
I just ended a 2 hour session with Apple Tech Support.  We had to take it to a level 2 support person, but finally got it running.  Here's what she had me do.  Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.  Uninstall ALL Apple products on the Computer.  This inccluded Apple Mobile Device Itunes, Bonjour and Quicktime.  I doubt if we would have had to but she had me download a fresh copy of iTunessetup.exe and run it.  iTunes came up and ran on version 11.1.4.  Then I reinstalled Quicktime.
It is my personal opinion that there is a flaw in version 11.1.4.  You shouldn't have to go through all of these hoops just to update a single application that was working fine proir to the update attempt.
That's what worked for me.  Hope this helps you.  Any questions, get back to me.
    Good Luck.

I have a Mac Book Pro with OS X 10.6.8

If your profile is correct you are using 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.   The latest iTunes version for that OS is 11.3.1    If your profile is wrong and you have 10.9.5 Mavericks, then the iTunes version is 11.4.    You cannot use Mavericks versions on Snow Leopard.

I am trying to update itunes software to 10.5 but I get an error message saying to try manually installing, HELP!!!

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

I am trying to update ITunes from 10.4 to 10.5 I have tried from both the program, and from a download on Apple's website. Regardless, I get the following error messages: (1) Installation package for iTunes cannot be found. Try installing to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.  I can't find this folder. I have tried to completely unistall iTunes through the Control Panel, but it wouldn't let me: I tried going directly to the files themselves, but cannot uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System OS: Win XP SP 3.

Set the permissions for Everyone in the folder in which CCPackager created, to "Read/Write" enabled. This is strange since there is only an administrator account on the Mac (and that account already has read/write), but it seems to resolve the issue.

I recently tried to update iTunes to 11.1, and am now getting an error message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times with no success.  I am running Windows XP Svc Pack 3.  Help please.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

    Hello chathamcpa,
I found an article with steps you can take when you are getting Error 7 when opening iTunes.  I recommend following the steps in this article:

    Hi Kayleenfromwi,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.  This article has instructions for doing this:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567
If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend trying the steps in this article:
