Tried to update my version of itunes and now i get an error (windows error126)
Please help! I don't know what to do. I've tried re-installing itunes about 6 times and still no luck. A message also appears saying the AVFoundatoinCF.dll could not be found.
I was trying to help my cousin update his iTunes/get ready for his iPod Touch but now I'm in this mess. I don't want to lose his music (organized playlists etc) but I can't even open iTunes now.
In need of a fairy godmother...asap!

I recently downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes and now keep getting the error message "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please re-install iTunes (-42404)".
Since this, my iPad will not sync, despite resetting it many times.
I have downloaded and installed the new iTunes more than ten times with no luck.
Please can anyone help!!!!!!!Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now? -

Hi, I hope some one can help as I updated my version of iTunes and now get the error "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer". I understand that I need to delete and reinstall iTunes but all of my music has been uploaded from CD's and I'd like to know if these are safe if I delete iTunes of if they too will be deleted. I have over 1300 songs so this is a big question for me. Many thanks.
Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters of any sort.)
First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you still get the errors after that, try the following user tip:

You may want to make sure you're installing the right version of itunes. If you have a 64bit system, you will need to make sure to download and install the 64bit version of iTunes.

I am trying to update CS5 on my Mac and I keep getting an error message

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
Just updated itunes and now it won't recognize by ipods. UGH! I've tried the trooubleshooting but so far nothing has worked. I haven't yet uninstalled.
So here's the fix I found. Uninstall itunes along with the connected Apple files and programs. Then reinstall itunes.
Hope that helps -
while trying to update iphone softwear in itunes, why do I keep getting the message that the network connection timed out?
i had this problem and had to disable a few things on kaspersky, file anti virus and firewall. To feel safer do this just before the update has finished and you'll be protected while its downloading

Error 7 (Windows error 193) was received when I just tried to update iTunes on my Windows 7 computer. I've uninstalled and tried twice to reinstall and I get the same message. Does anyone have any additional suggestions? During install I do get a message about the mobile device but I do not have iTunes on my mobile phone.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
