Verifying that any iCloud account that may be signed in is signed out should resolve this error.
On your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.

My iPhoto will not quit/close as it keeps saying that it's "importing" photos however, there isn't anything connected to the laptop that it would be importing photos from. How can I "force" the program to shut down? Due to it not closing, it wont permit me to turn the computer off.

When trying to update Aps, my iPhone repeatedly rejects my apple ID password. I reset it, and it still rejects it. I've reset it on my computer, phone still rejects it . . . tired of this.
Are you positive you're using the exact Apple ID to update these apps that was used to originally ontain them? You can verify such by right-clicking one the apps, in your iTunes library, & selecting "Get Info". This will show you the Apple ID used to originally obtain the app...does it match on your phone?

While trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOs6 it froze on the connect to itunes screen and i needed to do a restore. But it restored my phone to january 2011 even though i just backed my phone to my laptop up 2 weeks ago. I still have all my contacts but i lost a lot of apps and text messages. Is there any way to make it restore to my most recent back up?
I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.

I had my iphone 4 locked to vodafone uk carrier. I connected the phone to itunes on my pc and tried to update the version to ios 6 through itunes. But it has been locked and asks for sim of previous carrier. how can i return to previous state?
You cannot return to previous state. The update re-locked the iPhone
to the original carrier. You must contact the original carrier to see if
they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that if your iPhone had previously been hacked/modified/
jailbroken to work with other than original carrier, it may be impossible
for the original carrier to unlock it properly. -

After plugging my phone into my computer, it asked me to update and then got stuck on the update page and the bar hasn't moved at all.
Then I plugged it into my computer after it died just like it told me to and it asked me if i wanted to restore my phone. i pressed 'okay' and it is stuck on the black page again for a few hours without the bar moving at all and my phone is completely useless.
How can I get my phone to update and restore?If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

On trying to upgrade iOS on iphone 3gs my phone just shows symbols to connect to itunes. Done that. tried to upgrade and restore but just keep getting message that there is a problem (-1). I went thru upgrade to ios7, then a few days later there was an alert in settings, so I clicked on the update to THAT upgrade... then my phone went black... no turning off or on. So I plugged into my PC and it will only show an iTunes logo a small white arrow up and then a pic of hte cord attached.... computers won't recognize phone, but sometimes show a 'device' there, but no opening anything... and it shows NO device driver for apple iphone. what's happened??? HOW dod I get my phone back! This is a work phone... need asap! thanks!

As AT&T has not officially unlocked your phone it must have been hacked to use another carrier. So when you updated it has relocked itself to AT&T. There is no official unlock so this will happen anytime you update.

Hi Randers4 thank you for trying to help. I finally gave up and just called apple. Apparantly my renewel went under my icloud ID while my previous accout was my itunes ID. Never had to match them before but I guess we do now. Once I switched my iphone ID to the ID I used to renew the icloud it backed up. Live and learn.

I was in the middle of the iOS 8 update and tried to turn my phone off (yes, I realize this was dumb) But what happened was it tried to reset. Now, my iphone 4s has the connect to itunes screen. I have tried to reset, recover, etc but I keep getting and error -51 message. Any ideas how I can get my phone working again? I am not worried about saving any info just having a phone to use!
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -
