Tried updating my itouch, now I have a white screen. I tried plugging it into my computer to update via itunes, but itunes will not recognize that the device is plugged in. What do I do?

You will likely have to let the battery fully drain
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I came to the disk readibility feature where i could determine if it read or read and write etc. im not sure what i did but upon exiting i was locked out ( a red minus displayed on the icon) of my hard rive contents. I needed to date my apps, so I pushed update all so they started to update and now they have frozen.

Once one freezes the the others can't download. Usually a reset is all you need. Press and hold both the power and home buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds for your iPad to start by itself.

There are no more user troubleshooting steps available. Make an appointment at any Apple store. Sounds like a hardware failure, & if so you will be offered an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $149.

i charged my ipod all night and it turned off when it was done charging. i held the lock button to turn it back on and now all i get when i do that is a white screen and i can type in my password but i cant see anything but white! i dont know what to do and it wont turn off. usually it goes to that screen with the apple but its not... can anyone help?

Hold down the power button until the screen goes black.
Wait about ten seconds then restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to verify and repair the startup disk if necessary and reinstall OS X. (10.10.1)

Apple said to update ical. I guess I waited too long because my calendars and all my events disappeared. I tried syncing with my iPhone and it deleted my calendars off my iPhone. Double clicking on a calendar invite does not work either, it won't open or populate my ical. I requested an update through Mobileme to get ical working again and nothing..... That is priceless!!! Thanks! I sure needed a good laugh after spending/wasting hours & days trying to either get my c6280 to give up on its Ink System Failure fixation, or find a decent replacement. Unfortunately I need the Smart Web Printing feature that I guess only HP has, or I'd try a different brand. And now even HP has very few models with that available.
My error msg is a little different from those previously stated, but close: 0xc18a0201. Even tho there were frustrations with my c6280, I did like several of its unique features which are hard to find now under $100. I hate how HP (& I suppose other brands also) are CONSTANTLY changing models & then of course ink cartridges.
Oh heavens, I've had the c6280 a whopping 2 1/2 years! I'm sure they want us poor slobs to have to buy a new one every year & a day! To say nothing of the exorbitant prices for ink. And now if this one is really dead in the water, I have SIX unused #02 ink cartridges which I cannot return---I got them in a combo pack, & for some reason have wound up with THREE lite pink & THREE lite blue cartridges, while having to buy extras of the other colors, that ran out before the others!!! Yeah, & what's with that not being able to print in BLACK if a color runs out????

Ok so I plugged my phone into my computer..it synced fine..then it went to install new 2.1 update...Now it just flashing a screen with a picture of Itunes picture and USB driver..basicallyy telling me to plug into ITunes...well now my computer will not install and cannot recognize the USB drive...so it cant install the USB port to connect to ITunes...I have uninstalled ITunes and reinstalled..defragmented my computer, everything I know to do..I suspect it doesnt recognize the USB port so it wont connect. Hold the Home button down while plugging the iPhone in to your computer. Continue to hold the home button until you are prompted to do a restore.

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.
