Trifold brochure printing Lexmark back side is upside down.

Trying to print a trifold brochure using Pages and a Lexmark Pro705.  The back side is printing upside down using the auto 2 side function.  Can't figure out how to get the second page to print properly for the trifold to fold correctly.

2 sided functions are set up for portrait pages not landscape.
To counter what the Lexmark is doing, you will have to rotate everything on the second side 180° or do the printing manually and rotate the one sided sheets to suit in a second pass.

  • InDesign CS5 - Printing, only first page is upside down.

    Strange problem.
I have a multipage document that has threaded text on pages 2-10 (for example). When I print (duplex or not), the first page (cover page of the manual I writing) is upside down!
It shows correctly in indesign, as well as when I export it to a PDF and print it.
The printer i'm using is a Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 PS.
Our IT group at work says it's an indesign issue! I have had it successfully print on other printers, and I've tried everything I can think of on this printer.
    HELP!

In my experience, when an IT department can't figure things out, it's always the application's fault (or "those stinkin' Macs").
I'm pretty sure its a Ricoh thing. I do duplex booklet printing from Acrobat 9 (from a PDF file exported from InDesign CS5) to a Ricoh 5560. I often get the same problem. I find toggling the "Auto Rotate Pages" button in the print dialog on and off will fix it for me. There's no sense to it. If it first prints upside down, click the button and print again and it will work. But the next time you go to print with that setting, it will be upside down again. Click the button off, and it will work. I've given up trying to troubleshoot it.

does it happen when you print from both laptops or only from one of them? and have you made sure the printer driver is selected properly? you can check it by right clicking on the printer icon and clikcing on Properties. the click on the 'Advanced' tab and see the name of the print driver. it HAS to be HP Officejet J5700.

  • 4-up printing: make back side of sheet right?

i would like to print 4-up and have the right page in the right place on the reverse side of sheet.
That is: i want to print (say) acrobat documents 1,3,5 &7 on the front side, and have doc 2 on reverse of doc 1 (ie directly behind doc 1 on the reverse side of the resulting printed sheet of paper), with (obviously) doc 4 on back of doc 3, et cetera.
The reason - i want to cut the printed sheets into quarters and use these quarters for a new book, with page numbers in right order.  Can this be done?  (How to instruct the Reader print window to make it come out that way?)

    Daniel,
i meant to print out a "users' manual" in a more user-friendly format.
As you are doubtless aware, modern documentation is all in the form of a PDF, included on the distribution disk.  And the person who writes the manual obviously owns a paper mill, because the documentation goes on for hundreds of pages, a line or two in huge font size on each page.
    So my hope is to print the "manual" out, four-up: four pages per side of output sheet (standard US printer paper, 8.5 x 11").  Accordingly, i might get pages 1, 3, 5 & 7 printed on the front side of the first sheet, say in quadrants 1, 2, 3 & 4.  Then i would need pages 2, 4, 6 & 8 printed on the reverse side of the output, in the following manner: directly behind page 1 would be page 2; behind page 3, page 4, and so on.  That would mean that the reverse of the output sheet would have pages in the following arrangement: quadrant one: (original) page 4;
    "      two: page 2
    "     three: page 8
    "      four: page 6
    (if i have it right).
i cannot believe that i am the first person to wish to be able to print out our present documentation in space- and paper-saving format and, given their wasteful font size, can still easily be read when shrunk by a factor of four (and requiring only an eighth of the number of sheets of printer paper).
So it would be a boon to humanity to cut down only an eighth as many trees in order to have hard copy (which i prefer, as it is handier and lets me write notes on it).
Now then, it has occurred to me to specify a very long input list of pages, arranged in weird sequence, in order to get the resultant output to print in useful manner (pages in right sequence - assuming that the input box would take such a long string of numbers) - but i ask: should that really be necessary?  Are the developers of Adobe's printer interface so remote from the world they serve?
I am hoping that someone has thought about n-up printing and how it would most likely be use, and has made provision for the rest of humanity to be able to conveniently and compactly print out logorrheic "user" documentation.
So i thank you for your reply, and say, let us search for a simple solution!

    Jim

  • Print booklet feature -- printing on back side

Hi. I posted earlier about a playbill I'm working on. I took an ID tutorial, but it didn't address the problems I'm encountering. I'm using ID 5.0 (CS3) on a MAcbook pro running Leopard.
The playbrill is 12 pages. I'm printing using 'print booklet'. Page one of the playbill prints on the right half of the first peice of paper and page 12 prints on the left half. Page two of the playbill ends up on the left half of the second peice of printed paper, page 11 on the right half, and so on.
BUT...what we need is for Indesign to spit out the first peice of paper, with page 1 and 12, and then to NOT PRING PAGES 2 and 11, so that we can turn the paper with 1 and 12 on it and feed it back into the machine, which will then print pages 2 and 11 on THE BACK, so that every peice of paper has four pages on it. And so on with the rest of the bill.
Is there a way to do this, or some other protocol for dealing with cases where you are printing on front and back?
    Thanks in advance for help.

    Hi,
From the application used to print open the printer dialog, then click on ettings or Preferences to access to Printig Preferences dialog.
Within the Layout tab change the Print on both sides option.
For a portrait oriented document select Flip on Long Edge, for a Landscape one select Flip on Short Edge, then it will print as expected.

  • Office Jet 8000 -- Duplex Printing -- back side upside down

When printing a booklet on my Office Jet 8000 A809, using duplex printing, the back side of each page is upside down.  Operating System is Windows Vista.  I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I can't find it.  HELP.

Choose the type of duplex - you probably have Short-edge binding enabled.  Change it to Long-edge binding.

  • Back side printing in Script..

    Hi Experts,
In script i need to print back side(which is common for every page) on each page.
For that i created FRONT, BACK pages.
FRONT Next page BACK and Print mode is 'D'.
BACK Next page FRONT, Print mode blank and no main window in this page.
Now what happens is it is not printing the back side of the very last page. Suppose 10 pages are there then it is printing the back side of first 9 pages but not for 10th page. If only one page is there it not printing back side at all..

  • Problem with duplex printing - alternate pages upside down

I have been trying to print 2 per side, double sided from Adobe Reader. I have tried this as two up, duplex and also as booklet printing. Whatever I do, the second side is upside down. "Flip on long/short edge" appears to make no difference.
Trying to resolve it in the printer properties is worse: Adobe Reader seems to override them and I get single sheets single sided. If I select both "two sided" in the Reader dialog and "Duplex" in the printer dialog, the second side overprints the first side (but is the right way up!.
I am using Reader 10.1.2 with Windows 7 and an HP Deskjet 6980 printer with duplex unit using the Windows 7 default drivers. I have installed the "AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.zip".
There must be a combination of settings which works! Can anybody help? Please?

TThat is my problem also. You are flipping to the long side, you need to flip to the short side. I order to get the back one to be right side up. I was able to get windows 8 to do that today without doing anything beside selecting landscape and flip to short side. But when I use my iPad I donot have that selection. I need software to be able to have that option.

  • Printing upside down

Hi guys.  I've got an HP LaserJet 600 M603.  It has started printing pages with the data upside down.  Instead of picking the page up from the tray after printing, and the start of the page being at the top, it's placing the start of the page and information at the bottom, upside-down.
When I do a factory reset, it will correct the issue for a time, but it then reverts back within an hour or so.
I researched and found some information regarding a firmware upgrade for a different model printer that stated is was the PJL Density command that was causing the data on the page to print upside-down and it was the fix for it.
Not sure if an upgrade to the firmware is what I need, nor do I know how to peform this.  Any advice?

There is a firmware update from 31 July 2014, version 2302963_436082 available for download from HP here.  Be sure to read the "Readme" file in the file here for installation instructions.  The installation instructions are near the end, starting about page 29.  It does appear some of the updates involved fixes for mirrored or inverted text.

  • How do I make a slow  spinning movement so character and scene turns upside down?

How do I make a slow  spinning movement so character and scene turns upside down?
    It's for a dream sequence.

The better method (I feel) is to rotate the camera when shooting.
Certainly that is better. However, I don't have a way to do that, so I imagine that most people don't either. I can turn my tripod's head on its side, but upside down? Not so easy.
Having said that, there are camera cages designed to do that.
It is true that my way doesn't fill the frame so one way to handle that is to do it on a copy of the video on a higher track, and blur the heck out of the original to keep the frame filled. Some amount of blur is often associated with dream sequences.

  • Print Terms and conditions on Back side in Smart Forms

    Hi All,
How can we print Terms and conditions on back side of last page. we are using SAP Smart Forms to print Packing Slips now we need to print the terms and conditions on back side of last page. who can we do this ... ?
I have created 2 pages first page and Last page i have selected last page as  next page for First page and  vice vis and selected duplex printing for first page print option.
Now the problem is the terms and conditions are printed on all the pages but not on the last page. for example if i have 5 pages then all the 4  pages are printed on front and back but the last page(5) is printed only on the front side but not on the back and if we print only 1 page then only front page is printed and no back side is printed.
please let me know what else need to be done in order to print the terms and conditions on the back side of last page.
    Thanks,
    Praveen Chindam.

    Hi,
There is quite a simple solution. We have exactly the same requirements for our invoices.
Create 3 pages in the Smartforms, e.g. FRONT, BACK and LAST.
FRONT has print mode "D" (duplex) and next page "BACK"
BACK has print mode " " (unchanged) and next page "FRONT"
LAST has print mode " " (unchanged) and next page " " (blank)
BACK and LAST are identical apart from that, and do not have a MAIN window - they just contain the T&C in a secondary window.
At the very end of the MAIN window on the page FRONT, insert the command NEW PAGE <LAST>.
This will give you a print out that is
FRONT, BACK, FRONT, BACK,....FRONT, BACK, FRONT, LAST.
