Triger/transmit light from projector when i sanp from camera with IMAQ PCI 1407

I want to activate projector to emit light when i snap

Take a look at the low level snap example. Put the IMAQ Trigger Drive VI between the IMAQ Configure Buffer and IMAQ Start and set the "trigger drive" input to asserted. This will drive the trigger line as soon as the VI is called. Alternately, you could choose another condition such as "acquisition done" to drive the trigger after the frame is acquired. Please note, as soon as you call IMAQ Close, the trigger line will return to the default tri-state.

Only way I can figure is having double entries one with singular + some unique field, (maybe called Siri), then making a Smart group for one or both.

  • Issues when using a Pixelink camera with LabView 9.0

In my lab, we have a program for video acquisition using LabView and the low level camera functions for Pixelink cameras.  We run into some problems trying to run this program and other demo gui programs that came with the Pixelink SDK.  In our data acquisition program, we have problems with our image coming out all scrambled.  We use the low level functions to obtain a frame from the camera in the from of a vector.  We then reshape the vector into an array and then send the array to a vi that turns it into an image.  When we try to view this image using the standard Labview image viewer, the image comes out all scrambled if the zoom factor is not set to .5 on the image viewer.  The full resolution of the image is supposed to be a 1024x1280 image which when we use the Capture OEM software for the camera provided by Pixelink we can see.  The image that we can see through LabView when we have the correct zoom factor seems to be only the top left quarter of what the entire image is supposed to be.  We also encounter strange problems when we attempt to use the demo programs for labview 8.6 that are provided with the SDK.  When trying to run the simpleGUI.vi, for example, the program connects to the camera just fine.  After you hit play to view an image, the problems start.  The program will play the video for a few seconds until it just freezes up and quits responding.  Labview must be exited and restarted in order for the camera to connect again.  I am not sure if it makes a difference that we are running labview 9.0 on our computers or not.  Any help you have on these issues would be of great help.  Attached are pictures of the scrambled/unscrambled image and of the part of our block diagram for camera control.

IMAQdx is the driver that National Instruments provides to interface Firewire, GigE and USB cameras (Directshow compliant USB).  This is a licensed driver, so if you don't currently have it, then testing in MAX is not an option.
So if I understand correctly, you have the Pixelink software which works fine, but you have Pixelink VI's that are used in LabVIEW, but those do not work correctly?  That to me seems like a driver issue, which I'm not sure how much I can help with since it is not our driver.
Do you know what dll's the Pixel link VIs are calling into?  Are they Pixelink dlls?  If so, I would suggest speaking with the manufacturer or perhaps on of our other users has worked with Pixelink before.
Sorry I can't be much more helpful.

  • How receive image from camera with PCI-bus

    Hello all
    Please help
    me.
    I have LV 7.1.1.
    I wont
watch two and more images from cameras at the same time.
    I have capture
    card (PCI-bus) with 4 video-input.
    What kind
of data must be transfered from this capture card  to LV?
     With respect
    Aleksandr.

    Hello Aleksandr
please provide more information, what type of video card do you have?
Have you configure the card so you can watch an image with MAX?
I suppose the card has the ability to capture more than one image at a time is that true?, however most of the cards that I know of, have several inputs but you can only display one image at a time, you can swith between them and capture and image from another input, to capture more than one unit at a time you would need to open/close sessions with the instrument/card such that you are switching from one input to another

  • Is there a way to use import from camera with a cannon 7d CF card so that you can select only the parts of the clips that you want?

I used to use log and transfer and now in final cut x I know you are supposed to use import file, however you have to import the entire clip instead of being able to select an in and an out point of the footage being imported. This is not good for me because I have a limited amount of space and if I'm going to be converting everything to prores and only using 65% of the footage that is a huge waste. Any help or work arounds would be appreciated. Thanks!

I import from P2 and 7D cards daily, it's super easy, very fast, very simple, not so complicated.
    Here's how you do it.
1- CF card in a card reader, mount on Desktop, or copy whole card contents to a folder.  (P2 can read directly from inside cam)
2- Open "Import From Camera" in FCP X.
    3- Click "Open Archive" button.
    4- Point to CF card.
    * FCP X will act like L&T now.
    * Select a Range of a clip you want to import, click import button.
    * Select a different Range of same clip, click import button.
    * If you want whole clips, highlight one or more whole clips, import.
    * Imports are ProRes 422 files.
    * If you want a backup of the CF or P2 card "as is", click the Create Archive button.
Very simple, no need for thrid party BS.  It's really simple and easy.
Canon DSLR's have never been able to mount the cards while inside the camera.  You have always needed a card reader.

  • Any way to rename files when importing from camera with iPhoto?

I have a naming scheme that I've used when importing photos from my camera (e.g. 2008-09-12-Event ). I can't create a custom folder (in Pictures but outside iPhoto Library) or rename things when importing with iPhoto - is that right? I can't find any advanced options to import ...
If I want this (and don't want to use Adobe Bridge CS3), do I have to get Aperture?
    Thanks -
    Alexa
p.s. I haven't really figured out WHERE my photos go with iPhoto? I've been editing in Photoshop Elements 6 but then have to "Save As" to replace the file - saving it doesn't do it (I think that sends it to the iPhoto library somewhere?) Eek...

    Alexa:
    You might consider this workflow:
1 - using either Image Capture or a card reader upload the images to a folder on the desktop.
2 - name the folder with a brief description of the shoot. I use a short date and description: 08/01/08-Dinner at Toad Hall
3 - use a file renaming application like Resize! to batch rename the files to your specification. I use the international date (for the capture date) and a brief description: 2008-08-01-Dinner at TH-001.jpg.
This allows for good chronological searching and sorting as well as text searching on the description. It also avoids duplicate file name issues in the future. Granted a few extra steps up front but saves me a lot of time later on.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Is it possible to post pix from camera with WiFi connection, but no comp? (travelling light!)

I just set up my wireless services on my camera. I will be travelling out of the country and will not have my laptop with me, but will have WiFi access. Is it still possible to post pictures wirelessly to online platfroms such as Facebook?

    struong,
A computer is required as far as setting up Web Services and registering them to your camera.  However, once that is done, you can send image directly to those services as long as your camera is connected to an access point that has internet access.  To do this:
Access the Wi-Fi menu on the camera.
Select a registered Web Service, like Facebook or Twitter.
    Connect to an access point.
Once connected, the image transfer screen will be displayed.

  • View image instantly on monitor from camera with USB connection

    Hello,
What I want is to see my image instantly on monitor when I am taking a picture from example a portrait or a painting in the studio. The camera is connected with USB to the computer.
    Help!!

So I was shooting teathered the other day with the following:
    Nikon D100
USB to Powerbook G4, 1.25 Ghz 2GB Ram OS 10.4.8
    Nikon Capture to Hot Folder
    Hot Folder to Aperture
My issue was that sometimes for reasons I could not work out my
Camera would lock-up after a couple of frames shot. I was also syncing
to a couple of dynalites but I dont think it was a light re-cycle thing.
This became embarrasing as my subject was standing there and my shutter
    would be locked up.
Was this an issue with maxing out the processor on the Pbook?
Or perhaps writing the file to aperture?
Would it be better to have the image display in Nikon Capture and worry bout importing into Aperture later?
After finally de-teathering and shooting normaly I never ran into the problem again.
    Any thoughts appreciated.
    TIA.

  • Importing from camera with iMovie onto computer with home on AFP share ...

I am trying to import a movie from a Sony Handycam into iMovie '08. iMovie can see the camera. The problem is that I cannot choose where to save the movie. I am only offered the choice of one of the two disks in my machine but am not given a chance to choose the actual folder location. Furthermore, the only choices are not write accessible to me.
I am guessing that iMovie doesn't want to import to my home/Movies because it is on an AFP share but why can't I choose the /Users/Shared folder (or any other location)?
Does the user that imports video into iMovie have to be an admin user?
The dialog that opens when I choose to import says "Save To:" but is not a proper (usual) file selection dialog. I only get two choices and they are internal disks not folders.
I know that Apple loves to work from the premise that they know best how I should do what I want to do but in this case I am actually totally prevented from doing what I want to do. I could actually log in as the admin user, import the movie (I'm assuming that would work) and then copy the files to my account. Any other suggestions would be welcome. Is there a way to specify the path for the import dialog?
(I am sitting on a gigabit ethernet network with a recent XServe and XServe RAID serving my home. I find it hard to believe that this couldn't handle a simple video import. It's not even HD.)

I am only offered the choice of one of the two disks in my machine but am not given a chance to choose the actual folder location. Furthermore, the only choices are not write accessible to me.
Other than the start-up drive user's account "Movies" folder, iMovie '08 only allows access to the "root" level of non-start-up drives which are the only areas it scans for "iMovie Events" folders during initialization. In addition, in order to access non-start-up drives, they must be formatted as "Mac Extended OS" drives.
I am guessing that iMovie doesn't want to import to my home/Movies because it is on an AFP share but why can't I choose the /Users/Shared folder (or any other location)?
    See above.
Does the user that imports video into iMovie have to be an admin user?
    No.
The dialog that opens when I choose to import says "Save To:" but is not a proper (usual) file selection dialog. I only get two choices and they are internal disks not folders.
    See first answer.

Finder level file operations performed external to iMovie '08 tend to corrupt pointers/reference paths unless they emulate what iMovie itself does in which case the initialization scan may be able to fix some problems.

Not familiar with such use so I don't know if this would automatically limit your access to root level storage area.

  • Safari upload image from camera with iOS 8.1.2

    Hello,
I'm having trouble try to upload a picture while using Safari on iphone 4s that does not exist in my photo library yet and trying to create one by taking a picture with my camera.
it doesn't have a problem selecting an existing photo from my library.
i have also tried to create a simple form with an only input file button and nothing else to verify that its not some script or anything else that is causing the problem
    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    1. open Safari on iphone 4s with iOS 8.1.2
    2. went to www.baldpixel.com/_upload.php
    3. clicked to select a new picture (i.e. not selecting an existing from library)
    4. once taken the picture and pressed on Use Photo safari reloads the form and prompts the message :  A problem occurred with this page so it was reloaded.
    5. closed Safari and tried to open it again, 1 in 3 times i get the message above and the rest of times page reloads.
same problem has appeared in iphone 6 with the latest version iOS 8.1.2

Same exact problem as @ropox only I am using iOS v 8.1, iPhone 6.
I have reports coming in from other testers - they are experiencing the same issue with their iPhones.
    Scenario:
We have a simple web form with a file upload. in the past, users were able to take a photo with their iphone and upload it via the form upload (simple FILE input). This worked fine in the past, the only difference is the iPhone iOS upgrade to 8.x
    Interesting Update:
When I connect my iPhone to my mac via a cable and have error reporting going from the iPhone to the Mac's Safari console - hoping to capture some kind of error in the console to figure this out - it works fine! The upload and everything works as expected. As soon as I disconnect the cable and try it again, no dice. I get the web page reloaded with the error: A problem occurred with this page so it was reloaded.

  • Problem importing pictures from camera with Elements Organizer

I am using Elements Organizer from Photoshop Elements 9 (Mac OS 10.6.8).  Recently, the files imported from my camera are being stored on my hard drive with the permissions set so that only the owner of the files can read them.  Previously, anyone could read them.  I must have accidentally changed something in Elements Organizer.
How do I set things back to how they were so that everyone can read the files imported from the camera?  Is there a way to reset the default settings for Elements Organizer?
I can get around this by setting the permissions for the folder of pictures from the Terminal window, but this requires that I remember to do so after each import.
    Java Jay

You can use the app PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer the pictures to your computer while maintaining your folder structure.

  • Transferring photos from camera with nano?

I understand that current accessories do not yet exist to transfer pictures directly from a camera for the nano. Does anyone know if Apple or a third party plans to develop something in the next few weeks?
    Message was edited by: MisterSeth

Apple does make an iPod Camera Connector, but it's not compatible with any generation of the iPod nano. This is a user-to-user forum, none of us work for Apple. We have no idea what they have planned and it's against the Terms of Use to speculate about their plans. However, the iPod nano has been a model for some time now and no camera connector has yet be made for them.
I might suggest you send Apple some iPod nano feedback and request an adapter:

I need to average acquisition images from a camera and than subtract the average from a background image acquisition.

This isn't my best work, but take a look a this.  The same code acquires both images, you just choose which image control stores the averaged image.  the Analyze button then processes whatever is in the two image controls (Reference and Absolute).
Your problem is that you are constantly initializing each time you take an image.  You only have to do it once.

  • IChat freaks the heck out when external non-iSight camera is connected.

I suspect this is not entirely a problem with iChat as I have the same issues with photobooth. I'm running leopard on a mac pro and trying to set up an external firewire video camera to use with both of those programs, but every time I open them with the camera already connected or when I connect the camera with either app already running the color wheel of death ruins my day and whichever app it is that I'm attempting to use the camera with crashes. The camera is a Canon zr40 handicam that's about 4 and a half years old, but it works fine as a webcam with my g4 powerbook running tiger. Any insights into whether this is a leopard and/or most recent version of ichat vs. older one issue, or whether it's a hardware thing would be greatly appreciated.
    danke

    Odd,
The Firewire of the Camera should be using a different controller than the Firewire 800 and the speed differences that happen when items are daisychained or using the ganged ports (400) on some towers should not be effecting things.
Anyway Glad you found a solution.
I was under the impression these cameras did not work in iChat
