Trigg the 'Query' button when pressing 'Enter' on the keyboard

I have a form with 2 buttons, 'query' and 'reset'.
I would like that the 'query' button is triggerd (pressed) when the user presses 'Enter' on the keyboard. In regular html I think this is accomplished if the button is a 'submit' rather than a 'button' type, but I haven`t found a way to edit the
type of button in Portal.
Users belive it`s very annoying to have to move the mouse over the 'query' button to execute the query, and would rather like to just press 'Enter'.
I`ve tried to use a javascript (onKeyPress), but if you make a javascript in Portal, you`re not allowed to add this to your button, only as an 'form-' or 'field validation' in a textbox.
Is there anyone who knows a way to get this functionality?

One of the AVG add-ons for Firefox has been reported to cause that to happen. Disable that add-on until AVG fixes it.

Hi,
You can try using OnEnter property of the Input field for your requirement. Assign a method to the onEnter property of the input field and now when the user fills data in the field and press enter the method assigned will be executed.

How to set default button when press "Enter"

I have a form and it has only one button (Submit). When I press "Enter", it can submit the form and do the action. However, when I add another button (Normal button, not submit), it cannot perform submit action directly when I press "Enter".
If we press "Enter" and the form can submit automatically, it is more user-friendly than without this feature. Therefore, may I know the method of set the default button when users press "Enter"?

At first I thought the order of the form controls might matter. When I run this code:

While I am in the text box, if I press the enter key the form submits. I originally tried it with the submit and button inputs in the opposite order.
Note that the enter button will not submit the form if you are in a select control (aka dropdown) or a textarea or if your focus is not on a form element. That's the default behaviour. If you want to override that, you'll have to write some javascript.

When pressing Enter/Return to commit a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input!?

When pressing Enter/Return to commit a marquee selection the Feather box turns white for input (and I'm not trying to chage the feather values)!?
Pressing Enter/Return should commit the selection but it doesn't why? I have not changed any short-cut preferences in PS CS6.
When I use the Marquee or Lasso tool and make a selection and I'm happy with the selection, I press the Enter (PC)/Return(Mac) and the the "marching ants" should disappear...
this has always worked until today!?
Now, when I press the Enter key, the Feather box (next to the Anti-alias) on the upper left corner goes from grey to white and wants me to change the value?

I was not able to reproduce the behavior you mentioned, though I don't normally make a practice of using the Enter key for that function (I tend to double-click to close the selection).
Nor could I reproduce the behavior by holding down a modifier key.
Have you tried restarting Photoshop?
Rebooting?
Resetting Photoshop's preferences to defaults?

Disabling a push button when pressing it....

Hi,
I want to disable a push button when pressing it (to be more specific as the last command to be executed ...).
Although the syntax ... the name of push button ...e.t.c. , i've written are correct:
set_item_property('test.psh_button',enabled,property_false);
the error message that arises is :ORA-06502
when i comment out this line the source code is executed without any errors.....
Can you think of another way to accomplish this requirement...????
Note: i use Dev/2000 v.6i with patch12

the two tryouts where just to testout the error, not a real solution. My guess was that this error FRM-41032 also occurs in your "real" form, this would cause the ON-ERROR-trigger to fire, and perhaps for some reason your ORA-06502 occurs somewhere in ON-ERROR. So if you've set both navigable-properties to false and the error would be away, that would have been an check on this.
The second one was just to check if the SET_ITEM_PROPERTY-code would work separated from the other logic you have in your WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED. But what you could try in your real code: do a GO_ITEM('some visible and navigable item'); and then issue the SET_ITEM_PROPERTY.
perhaps you can try when you have access to the sources again.

I set my default to Calibri 14, but every time I press enter (I make a lot of bullet lists) the font changes to Calibri 11.

Did you change the default font after you typed a few words in a note container?
Setting the default font in Microsoft Office OneNote affects text that you type in new note containers only. It does not affect existing text or text that you add to existing note containers.
If you want to change the font in an existing note container, you need to change it manually under
Home tab > Basic Text.

Problem when pressing ENTER for InputText object text

Hi,
I encountered a very strane anomly when pressing ENTER for
InputText object text.
1) I set the InputText object for having maxium 2 characters.
2) I set the InputText object for getting only numbers using
.restrict= "0-9";
Now, say the InputText is now empty.
1) Say I press the number "7" - the text line is now
containing - "7".
2) Now, I press ENTER - the "7" is cleared from the text
line.
Now, while the text box is clear, we think that we can insert
2 numbers.. but not!
3) I press a number, say "9" - the line contains "9"
4) I try to insert another number... but I can't!!
In order to be able to insert two numbers, I have to press
twice the Backspace in order to clear the "9" , and another ghost
note (the ENTER?).
How can I solve this anomaly?

once you click a button, say, "Draw Rectangle", it should draw a rectangleYes, but you need to repaint() the component (in your case panel) to see the change.
The error is: The method paintComponent(Grpahics) is undefined for the type ObjectThe compiler never lies. As far as your code goes, you have added a method paintComponent(...) to a class that implicitly extends Object. Perhaps you wanted to create an anonymous subclass of JPanel.JPanel panel = new JPanel() {

Also:
1. You're setting a FlowLayout to a JPanel, which is anyhow the default layout manager. And when using a layout manager, setSize calls are redundant and effectively ignored.
2. For a JFrame to be centered on the screen, setLocationRelativeTo(null) after setting the size, not before.
3. To void visual artifacts, setVisible(true) after all other properties are set.
It looks to me like you've been throwing together bits of code from here and there without adequate understanding. I recommend you go through the Swing tutorials linked from the topic listing page for this forum.

Why does firefox 16.0.1 not allow me to click on buttons in the top 40mm below the banners, though i can get to them by tabbing to a buttons then press "Enter"?

It doesn't matter what web-page I'm on, the top 40mm or so of the screen is a dead area for clicking on buttons or links. e.g. in Google I can click on a link lower down the page and get transferred to the new article - but if I were to move the item up nearer the top of the page the link would no longer operate.
I can move to a link by repeated operation of the "Tab" key until the link or button is indicated, and then press "Enter" to use the link, but this is potentially very time-consuming if there are a lot of links on the page.
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L750 loaded with Windows 7, and Firefox 16.0.

Problems with buttons and links at the top of the page not working can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or a Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Well, the right arrow key will already move you to the next column, so the easiest way to do this is to modify the InputMap to have the Enter key invoke the same Action as the right arrow key.
You can search the forum for my "Table Actions" (without the space) example that will show you how to do this.

I am new in to abap and i want to know that how can we display data on the same screen when we enter the value and press enter , for example when i enter a employee code in input field and when i press enter before executing my report i want to see the name of the employee for which i have enter in the field before execution. i am developing a Report which is calling a smartform for print.

Space preserved when pressing enter in the code view

Sorry guys. This may be a old problem in Dreamweaver cs5.5, but i can't find any solutions of solving this.
When i press enter in the code view,same as the following:

         <div></div> ------ (1)
         <div></div> ------ (2)
</div>
Dreamweaver cs5.5 help me to indent.
When i preview the page in my browser, i find that there is space between two div (1) and (2). (i set the display of block as inline-block in css) (but there is the same problem when i change div to span too)
If i code as the following:

         <div></div><div></div>
</div>
The space vanish.
The problem is how can i code or set the dreamweaver such that there is no space preserved when i code as the top one?

I've just been working on the same problem. My code formatting vanished upon uploading my site to my server. What I think is happening is that Dreamweaver CS5.5 is getting confused about how to interpret the use of the enter key.
The fix for my site was to go up to the opening <html> tag and remove all whitespace between it and the doctype declaration. Then, I moved the opening <html> tag back down to my second line of the document and re-uploaded the file. Then, when I viewed the source code from the live site, everything was formatted properly.

Browser does not go to location address whenI press ENTER. I have to click on an arrow on the far right of the location bar. How can I get back to just hitting ENTER?

Usually I just type in the address and hit enter. But lately it changed so that I have to move the mouse to an arrow on the right side of the address bar and then click.
I prefer the original method. How do i avoid having to click on the arrow?

Pressing enter not working can be caused by a malfunctioning add-on. For some people this has been caused by the AVG safe search add-on, disabling that add-on has cured the problem.
