Triggerring a query of different system from WAD template

Hi,
I have a WAD template that has a button. When I click on button, it should open a new window and a query from different SAP system should open for execution.
For instance: The web template is built in QD system and the query to be executed is built in BD system.
Is this possible in WAD?
Best Regards,
Pankaj

Hello,
I'm sorry but regarding your first question (about extra fees) i have no clue: it depends on the customer, its SAP system landscape, and even the sales rep... so I'm not sure you can find any response on this forum. The best you can do is contact the sales rep of the customer for which you're thinking about installing CRM Interactive reporting.
And as far as configuration is concerned, I would check OSS: many notes are dealing about this subject. Check out application area CRM-ANA-OR:

  • Opening WAD template from WAD template

    Hello
    I have strange issue. Let me know if you had the same.
    I have a template with Navigation Pane and Table Grid based on the Data Provider A type BEx Query. I have second template with Navigation Pane and Table Grid based on the Data Provider B type BEx Query. Data Providers A and B refer to different queries. I created a button type OPEN_TEMPLATE_DIALOG in first template to open the second one. It opens, but it presents data from query B, not from query A, it is actually based on. I have no idea how it works and what could be a reason. Do you have any hint?
    A.

    I have a web template and I want to open another web template by button item. The second web template contains analysis grid and navigation pane, but based on the different query than the first one. When I run the web application from WAD, it presents correct data, sourced in the query I assigned to. When I run this web application from the original web template, by pressing button, it presents the data sourced in the query which is a basis for a main web template.

  • How to call a portal KM URL link from WAD template Link

    Hi All
    I  am trying to call a Portal KM URL Link from the web template using the link control.
    I cannot figure out whare and how to put the portal KM URL Link into the web application web link.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Karen

    Add content administration role to the user.
    The the content administration tab would be visible to the user in the main menu tab.
    Then in content administration tab, configure the URL for KM URL tab or link.
    This would be done by EP experts. Please contact your EP experts to do.
    Hope this would help you.

  • Running queries coming from different systems

    Hello All
    I have a scenario,
    We are using BI version 7.0,
    The requirement is to  run queries in BEX analyzer coming from 2 different SaPBW systems.
    For example :
    We have two  BW systems A and B,
    In the First tab  we have query running based on the BW system A and in the second tab query running on Bw system B.
    When we try to run the second query in the second tab the first query vanishes,
    Can anybody help me, is it possible to run the 2 different queries from different systems???
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    Even using RRI you will not be able to combine reports from different systems in single workbook. RRI is generally used for Summery to detail level reporting. In such scenarios from first report you click on particular characteristic and other details related to this characteristics are shown in different report coming from any other source.
    If you want this kind of report to run then either you will have to build a Virtual provider in one of the BI system making source as another system and then create a query and use it in same workbook.
    In this way your report might take some time to execute but you don't need to load all your data from one system to other.
    Regards,
    Durgesh.

  • Data from different systems in one report in Visual Composer

    Hi,
    I want to create a dashboard report in visual composer where in I have a set of 10 tables data to be displayed in one page out of 10 queries I am getting the data for 5 of the reports from Bi system and for other reports we get it from CRM system .Can I place data coming from 2 different reports in one view.If so how is that possible.
    What are the advantages we have in Visual composer apart from WAD .
    Regards,
    Maya

    Hi,
    Two different reports can be placed in one iview, but as far as i know it is not possible to combine two reports data into single table.

  • Need to return data from a query in different ways - Please help

    We are using 10g R2
    I have a proc as follows that has a query with over 100 values in the select clause:
    proc one( input param1, input_param2,.... output_cursor )
    as
    begin
    open cursor for
    select ...about 100 values with most of them being calculated
    from table1, view 1, table2, table 3, view 2 ...
    where ....
    and table1.col1 = input param1
    and table1.col2 = input param 2
    and view1.col5 = input param5...
    end;
    I need to return the data that comes from the above query in different formats, columns for a report would be different from columns for screen A and different for screen B. I need only certain columns for a report and different set of columns for another screen. I have wrapper procs that get different input params. From the wrapper procs I intend to call the above proc but would like only selected values.
    How can I accomplish this? Since my main goal is to select different columns for each wrapper I was thinking of insert the data from the above proc into global temp table and selecting whatever columns and order I want from the wrappers.
    What do you think? Any other solutions?
    Thanks

    You need to clearly separate roles and responsibilities. The PL/SQL code that creates and supplies a cursor handle is server code tasked to supply data. The code that makes the call for server data, is responsible for formatting and rendering that data.
    Thus moving data formatting into the server code needs to be question. Simple example. Cursor does not return invoice date as a date - but formats it into a string using TO_CHAR().
    This works for client1 - as that is the date format expected. However, client2 has different International settings and specifies a different date format. Invoice date, formatted into a string by the server, now renders in the wrong format on client2.
    Server code should not be concerned with rendering and formatting of data send to a client.
    As for the idea to use a global temp table is ..., well to put it nicely, it smells. Badly.
    The single most expensive operation on a database platform is I/O. And now you want to read server data and write it to temporary storage, and the read data from temporary storage to return to the client? What on earth for!? Why purposefully increase the size of the I/O workload? Why decrease performance and undermine scalability?
    Provide a proper abstraction interface to the client. Enable it to specify (as simplistically as possible) what it wants ito data. There are a number of ways to design and implement this in PL/SQL. Simplistic example:
    SQL> create or replace package Employees as
      2
      3          EMP_FULL_DETAILS        constant integer := 1;
      4          EMP_BASIC_DETAILS       constant integer := 2;

  • Dbms_sql  in a different schema from query table-error  ** ORA-00942

    Oracle Experts,
    I think I am having problems with using DBMS_SQL in which the function was created in one schema and the query table was created in a different schema.
    We have 2 schemas: S1, S2
    We have 2 tables:
    T1 in Schema S1
    T2 in Schema S2
    We have a function F1 created by DBA in schema S1 that uses the dbms_sql as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION S1.F1(v1 in VARCHAR2) return NUMBER IS
    cursor1 INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    cursor1 := dbms_sql.open_cursor;
    dbms_sql.parse(cursor1, v1, dbms_sql.NATIVE);
    dbms_sql.close_cursor(cursor1);
    return (0);
    EXCEPTION
    when others then
    dbms_sql.close_cursor(cursor1);
    return (1) ;
    END;
    I am using jdeveloper 11G. We have an Oracle DB 11g.
    We have a java program which uses jdbc to talk to our Oracle DB.
    Basically, in my java program, I call function F1 to check if the query is valid.
    If it is, it returns 0. Otherwise, returns 1:
    oracle.jdbc.OracleCallableStatement cstmt = (oracle.jdbc.OracleCallableStatement) connection.prepareCall ("begin ? := S1.F1 (?); end;");
    cstmt.registerOutParameter (1, java.sql.Types.INTEGER);
    cstmt.setString(2, "Select * from S2.T2");
    cstmt.execute ();
    Since the table that I run the query is T2, created in different schema than F1 was created in, I have the error:
    ** ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    So my questions are these:
    - I am using Oracle DB 11g, if I run the query on a table that created in a different schema from the one that the function (which uses dbms_sql) was created in, I would get the error ORA-00942?
    - If I runs the query on table T1 in the same schema as the function F1, would I have the same problem(The reason I ask is I cannot create any table in schema S1 because the DBA has to do it; I am not a DBA)
    - This is not a problem, but a security feature because of SQL injection?
    - How to resolve this issue other than creating the table in the same schema as the function that utilizes DBMS_SQL?
    Regards,
    Binh

    Definer rights (default) stored objects run under owner's security domain and ignore role based privileges. So regardless what user you are logged in as, function S1.F1 always executes as user S1 and ignores user S1 roles. Therefore exeuting statement within S1.F1:
    Select * from S2.T2requires user S1 to have SELECT privilege on S2.T2 granted to S1 directly, not via role.

  • How to design EDW for source systems from different Time-Zones

    How to design EDW for source systems from different Time-Zones?
    Suppose IT landscape has a global BW in New York, and source systems in americas, europe and asia, then how the time-zones effect on time related things like delta selections on date or timestamp etc.

    As you said BW is global in NY, your source system must be global too. People from various locations can connect to same source system and thus timestamps for delta is always maintained as 1 single time. We have same scenario in our project. Our R/3 system is used by users in US and Europe. So we run deltas twice in day to make sure we got deltas from both locations.
    If scenarios was such that all locations connect to separate R/3 system, then obviously you have multiple queues. That is unique delta queue for each source system so deltas will be pulled as per data in respective queues.

  • RFC call to a different system returns data from local system,

    Hi:
    I defined a RFC function and execute against a different system, the data returned is from the local system. The rfc_destination in SM59 works fine. The function works fine in the target system. No errors appear, just the data is not from the remote system.
    Any input will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Kamaraj

    Hi,
    For now, it seems u haven't specified the destination properly. the call function statement must be suffixed with the 'destination' addition to make sure that the function call is an RFC and the particular function be executed at the desired destination.

  • How to make this function module as RFC to get data from different system?

    Hi
    I am trying to use following function module . This function module is used to copy data from one cube to another cube within same system however I need a this should happen across two different system. How can I use this function module to make it remote call to different system and do the same function what it is doing ?
    Name of function module -
    RSDRT_INFOCUBE_DATA_COPY
    Any help would be really helpful
    AG

    HI,
      let us say you want to copy the data of a cube in system A to a cube in system B .
      1) create a RFC function module in system B (in this function module  call the function module RSDRI_CUBE_WRITE_PACKAGE to update the data), this RFC function module should have same parametersa as RSDRI_CUBE_WRITE_PACKAGE .
    2) write a program in system A .. read the data from the infocube using the function module RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ and call the RFC function module in system B that you have created..
    for the details of the parameters to pass to these two function modules use the RSDRT_INFOCUBE_DATA_COPY and get the required code
    Thanks

  • Publishing from WAD & publishing from Query

    Hi Experts,
    1.) I see two options avialable to publish to portal, query level and from WAD. could any one explain why or when do we use these options.
    2.)  If we add a new web item to the existing default template like 0analysis pattern ? what will be the next steps... should the new template be replaced and published, where should it be saved or replaced ?
    Please briefly enlighten me the flow from query ,WAD and finally to portal.
    Points will be assigned.
    Thanks
    Ganapathi.

    1. Publish from query -> Default tables and charts, Publish from WAD-> you can show lots of Web objects like Ticker, Tables, Charts....all items part of yor Web template( now Scripts , command wizards help to display the way you want)
    2.Add new to Standard template-> save as with your own name->Use your template in your Web templates

  • Use plan from stored_outlines from query with different syntax?

    Hello,
    I'd like to know is there any ability to use via stored_outlines plan from query with different syntax?
    Database version - 11.1.06
    If yes, maybe you'll take a look at steps (based on Metalink 726802.1), what I tried to do to make it work (with no success):
    alter session set create_stored_outlines=good;
    run good query

    update ol$ set sql_text, textlen, signature, hash_value, hash_value2 from BAD to GOOD records
    leave ol$hintcount for GOOD untouched

    execute dbms_outln_edit.refresh_private_outline('GOOD');

    A query with different syntax would result in a different hash value.
    Stored outlines work based on hash value.
