Trim marks-Please help-time running out.
Hi all. I know I have done this in the past...but I have CS3 on Windows XP and my document is an 8.75" x 11.25 giving the .125 bleed on each side. I would like to show the printers trim marks while saving to PDF (Acrobat 8 Pro). But it never places the marks in the correct place...always to the edge of the document.
I don't even know if this makes sense...but we are going to press in 1.5 hours. I need help!

Make your document (artboard) size 8.5 x 11. Enter your .125 bleed in the Marks and Bleeds panel when saving as PDF.
This is based on AI 12 (CS2). Details may vary with AI 13.

There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.

Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that. -

Please help.We may need more information on the circumstances associated with the user's
machine and their install session, but here's a few tips to share:
1. Ensure that the user is logged in as Administrator or equivalent and has
write access to the registry.
2. If running from a network drive mapping, make sure the drive mapping is
permanent or persistent so after login it will be remapped if your system
requires a reboot during install.
3. Make sure the user is launching the install from the iSetup.EXE located
in the root of Disk 1 and not from any other SETUP.EXE. The sole exception
to this is for silent installs, which is covered in Chapter 6 of the install
guide.
4. If OUI displays an error message, don't panic. Most OUI dialogs have a
help button with some useful information, and other errors will be written
to the InstallActions.log file, located in the C:\Program
Files\Oracle\Inveltory\logs directory. When an error is displayed, don't
click OK before you have had a chance to open this log file and review the
last few lines in the log.
Looking in the log file will be particularly useful for this error because
the OUI script appears to be looking for a registry entry that is not
present on the user's machine. Most likely, the user didn't launch
iSetup.EXE from the CD root.

Can someone please help me figure out how to “clear” recent email addresses used in Mail? For example, as I begin typing a name/email address in the “To:” field, Mail begins suggesting addresses that I’ve previously used. I don’t want any suggestions unless they are in my contacts.
Another example: When using MS Outlook, it will also remember and suggest email accounts previously used, but I can arrow down and delete an account from the list so it won’t automatically popup or suggest in the future.
I appreciate any guidance in this matter.The iOS email app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which cannot be turned off. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from contacts and from the list of previous recipients which can't be prevented. There is no option to clear the list of previous recipients - not at the present time anyway.
If you don't want any suggestions, select from contacts instead when addressing an email. -

I'm having a MAJOR problem placing PDF files in InDesign CS4...
When I try to place a PDF that has been created in Distiller, the ONLY import options I can choose are CROP and MEDIA. I need it to crop to the TRIM, but that option is grayed out. The PDFs I'm trying to place were created in-house, and converted from Post Script files to PDFs using Distiller. We use PDF/X-1a equivalent settings when creating our PDFs.
If I export the file as a PDF and then try to place it into a CS4 file, I am able to select Trim as an option.
ALSO, if I open the Distiller PDF in Acrobat and then save it (without changing anything), I am able to select Trim as an option. A workaround I have found is to open all of the PDF files in Acrobat, save them to my desktop, and then save over the ones I need to place. Here's the problem with that: I work for a publishing company, and need to place hundreds of ads for each issue of our publications, and it adds a lot of time if I have to go and re-save everything just to be able to place all the ads.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I need to get this figured out so we can use CS4 for all of our publications again. -- We've gone back to using CS3 until I can get this figured out...

Thanks for the reply, but my PDFs all have trim boxes on them. If I try to place the same PDF in InDesign CS3, it gives me Trim as an option. Also, if I open the PDF and save a copy to my desktop, I am able to select Trim as an option when placing the PDF, and I didn't change anything about it.
I've been trying to see if it's something with the Print Preset settings I'm using, but I can't find anything that seems like it would affect how InDesign would read the Trim area of the PDF.
I've attached 2 PDF files. One that was created with Distiller, and one that was exported from InDesign CS4. The Distiller one doesn't show Trim as an option in CS4, but the exported one does.... but they started out as the same ad. Ugh! Help me please!

Please help me figure out what's wrong with my girls fairly new Toshiba lap top.
OK as of late my girl got a nice new laptop. It started off really fast and she was really happy with it. But in the past three weeks or so it's been acting up. It's not connecting to the Wi-Fi properly, and won't read and other available confections. If we reset and restart it one of two times that usually does the trick but the last time took 3 restarts before connecting to the right the way it was made to. To top it all off though. We were just laying down and she had heard the cooling fan going in it. This is odd because I had used it last and i always meme site to shut it down properly. But to my dismay when she picked it up and showed me I could clearly tell it was the cooling fan and that the lights on the side indicated that it was still on. What would cause these things to happen like this and more importantly, what can I do to not only fix the issues, but to stop this from becoming potentialy a bigger and worse problem? Please, anyone with any knowledge on this matter. Please help me out to prevent this from becoming a bigger more expensive issue.
