If this is the wrong subforum then mods please move... but the link given on the TDE wiki page for the repo is broken.

That is a custom repository, so you need to contact the maintainer directly. This looks to be the maintainer.

Latest Flash Player For Windows 8 x86 - link broken?

Hi all,
Is it my imagination or is the download link broken from W8 x86?
The webpage is here:

But when you click on the the link for W8:

it redirects to a generic search page.

Yup, I fully understand that those links are on Microsofts website but I was alerting to the fact that this is for an Adobe product, and the links are borked.
Perhaps I'm naively thinking that someone from Adobe will read this and contact MS (I've already posted on MS forums).
The unforunate thing is that as its Windows 8, you *can't* install directly from Adobe. It's MS or nothing so the download links from Adobe don't help - but thanks anyway!

Script repository link not working

When the menu at the top of the forum says "Gallery" it very often is a ded link. Periodicaly the menu says "Repository" this seems to always work.
Here is the broken link:

Note that "repository" points to the folder "scriptcenter" and "Gallery" doesn't.

I actually replace /windowsserver/ with /scriptcenter/ for my Windows PowerShell forum tab. The /windowsserver/ branding is terrible. This has caused me problems though, because I've pointed people to a Repository link that doesn't appear for them...

Desktop to Link

I backed up my Q10 with Blackberry Desktop then cleared my phone because of problems I was having but now it won't restore. I'm told I have to now use Blackberry Link but all my info is on Desktop. Is there any way to transfer data from Desktop to Link so I can then get it back on my Q10?

KDE Trinity desktop environment installation problem

I had Arch running very well with xfce4. I installed trinity kdemod3-complete as described in wiki. On starting there is blank blue screen with dialog boxes (one after the other) stating that that 'kstartconfig not found- check your installation' and 'kdeinit not found, check your installation'. After that it comes back to login screen.
I removed slim login manager to get command line at start. On starting /opt/kde3/bin/startkde, there are error messages: libpng14.so.14 not found. I have libpng 1.5.10-1 installed.
I checked in wiki, there is no reference to this. Please help.

I copied libpng15.so.15 to libpng14.so.14. The trinity started and the desktop has appeared. But only text is visible, there are no icons, even in toolbars like that of konqueror. Also repeated messages of missing libs are coming. I am not sure what to do.

I guess Trinity desktop environment is not being supported by most in Archlinux.
If I have to remove these packages (which are now unnecessary) will following command work all right?
sudo pacman -Rs kdemod3-complete
I am asking this because it involves a very large number of packages (a full desktop environment) and I hope it does not break my system which is working well at this time.

Remove Desktop Inteligence link

Hey Doug,
Log on to CMC using Administrator privileges. Go to Business Objects Enterprise Applications> Desktop Intelligence.> Everyone Advanced rights and change the Explicitly Denied permissions to Log on to Dektop Intelligence and view this objects in CMC. New Desktop Intelligence Document will disappear for everyone.
One more thing is when you do this for everyone group, everyone in the BOE will not able to see this in the infoview.
*Explicitly Denied is the powerful option* Depending upon your requirement you can test this in your test environment first before moving this in production environment.
Theoritically, I don't have any clue why it is happening. It should work. I hope this helps!!!

Cant install Trinity Desktop

Hello,
i tried to install Trinity Desktop on my Archlinux and followed the wiki site.
The Repo of version 14 is empty so i took Version 13.
When i try to install it with pacman i got the error message:
/opt/trinity/share/icons/default.kde exist in 'tde-tdelibs' and 'tde-tdepim'
and no package is installed.
Does someone know how to solve that?

Dw cs5.5 + Phonegap + spry dataset xml and images links broken

Hi all,
I'm building an app using DW CS5.5 and Phonegap.
This is what I've done:
created pages using the starter template (local)
I created a php page that run a query on a mysql database and output an xml file
I created a spry dataset using the php (see 2) file as data file
It works locally and on-line on my website.
But if I package an app using the android sdk from dw CS5.5 I have problems: all images are all broken. It seems that the link to image is not correct.
In fact, all images are not using absolute path (http://www.mysite.com/images/...) but are set this way: /images/....
So, my question is: have I to specify all images sources using absolute paths to make it work when packaged?

I just solved the problem with image paths (I made all src paths absolute).

It should work on desktop browsers but it fails when I pack the app for android and install it on an android smartphone: I get "error loading page" when clicking on any details link (the button label is: DETTAGLI) on the news page.

I have same problem on my Windows 8.1 desktop. The system in up to date. I want to make a discrapency note: I CAN NOT DOWNLOAD BB DESKTOP SOFTWARE (Blend, BB Link). Reason is that the site swdownloads.blackberry.com uses the OBSOLETE and INSECURE SSL.3. The Signature SHA-1 with RSA is weak. Downloading software is refused without any notice (Chrome and Int. Explorer - Well Firefox displayed some info: no encryption over the internet). SSL3 is turned off. See: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3009008.aspxThere is a workaround in Internet Explorer described in Microsoft Security Advisory 3009008. I didn't try it out yet.

I tried to install Trinity 3.5.13 from the information and packages listed on this post:

I started with a new install of Arch on a typical AMD desktop system, using the Arch September 2012 ISO image. I installed and tested Xwindows and the Nouveau open source video driver. I then setup several users and fixed the "root not having a .bashrc problem".
After testing the base system I made a custom repository on my hard drive and downloaded all the packages for Trinity x86_64 into the repository and used add-repo to create the database and then checked to make sure pacman could see and use the custom repo. I made a custom repo because my Internet is slow and goes out occasionally--besides if you have to repeat the install it is much faster from the custom repo. Every thing seemed fine at this point.
I then ran "pacman -Sy tde-base" as root and it said custom was up to date, indicating it saw and could use the repo.
Then after,
checking package integrity,
loading package files
checking for file conflicts"
appeared on the screen I got this error message:

Should I just delete these files (with a backup) or tell pacman to ignore them and then try to re-install?
Since these files are always installed by a distro, I'm confused. If Trinity needed to use it's own versions of these files, I would have expected the package would either say so or overwrite the existing files.
Could this problem be because I was installing Trinity as root instead of as a normal user or somehow because I was using a custom repository?

Some hypertext links broken in generated PDF

Hi all,
I'm using FM 8.0p277 to generate a PDF of a book which uses hypertext TOC links to different chapters and topics. We've been using the same process for some time without any problems:
Generate TOC -> Print book to .ps -> run Distiller.
However, recently some of the hypertext links have ceased to work, seemingly at random.
Sample marker text from a nonfunctional link: openObjectId 01 PP System Theory of Op.fm:2 699335
Sample marker text from a functional link: openObjectId 02 PP Intro & Sys Rqts.fm:2 683648
The broken links are not isolated to a certain paragraph style or even to a specific book.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm really at a loss.

Thank you very much; the broken links were pointing to markers I'd removed during the release process instead of where I thought they were supposed to be pointing. I think it was a PEBKAC issue, but I never would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned checking the link properties.
I regenerated the PDF after fixing the markers in FM and everything seems to be working fine.

INDesgin image links broken after saving file across systems

We have a scenario involving 3 components:
1. Linux file server running both SMB and AFP (sharing the same directory thru both protocols)
2. MacOS 10.5 (Leopard) with INDesign CS3 connecting to the Linux server thru AFP
3. Windows 2003 server running INDesign CS3 connecting to the Linux server thru SMB (or NFS)
The scenario:
1. We create an INDD document and link an image to the AFP share (on the linux)
2. On the windows 2003 server we open the same document from the SMB share (on the linux) - no error/broken links message is received.
3. We save the document with a irrelevant to images change, (eg. Adding a text block) to the SMB share
Here is the problem:
4. We open the document on the MacOS and receive "Broken links" message atlhough when you look at the path of the image you see the correct AFP path (needless to mention the path is mounted on the MacOS properly and the images are fully accessible)
What can we do, so we will not receive a broken links popup on step #4 of the scenario?

No answers, but a few questions:
Just to be clear, by "broken" you mean missing, not in need of updating, right?
What version of netatalk are you using on the Linux box? Does it implement AFP 3?
What version of InDesign CS3 are you using? Is it fully patched to the last public version (5.0.4.682) or newer?
Are there any potentially problematic characters (e.g., slashes, backslashes, unicode characters, etc.) in the file names or the directories in the full paths?
If you make note of the full path on the Mac when the document is first created, and then compare it very carefully with the same path when you re-open it and get the broken links messages, can you detect any differences? It might also be interesting to place one of the same "missing" images in the document again once you've re-opened it on the Mac, and compare the two paths...

PDF links broken in SWF Flashpaper after conversion.

I've been building a flash app to view documents that exist as PDF files currently.
A recent demo of this app viewing the PDFs converted to SWF in Flashpaper viewer embedded in Flash player, we noticed that the embedded links (both interdocument links and the internet based links) were broken (didn't work).
Is there something we were doing wrong or is there a fix for this in a newer flashpaper version?

According to this http://www.adobe.com/products/flashpaper/productinfo/features/static_tour/navigation/hyper linking.html hyperlinks are supported, however I've seen these not working after converting PDFs to SWFs in my testing.
Is there some requirement for hyperlinks (both internal to the document and external internet links) to be working correctly after the conversion?
