Triple Monitor Display for Laptops

Im looking for a triple monitor bracket like the one MSI uses in their advertisement for the 4 monitor Matrix display.. Laptop in Middle, monitor on left and right, and one up high. Any help, links, advice would be great.
Thanks,
Brett
MSI GT70-20D Stock the one with the 24gb of ram.. Etc etc

that will be more then likely referring to a Falcon Tango Monitor Matrix (The 1 over 3 Monitor Matrix) (Quad monitor stand) without the central monitor attached!
you can only get them from the manufacturer as they are custom made stands and run around $440US http://www.tradingcomputers.com/TCarrays.html
MSI do not make stands like that they will just have been illustrating it like that for Marketing just to show how it could be used

  • Using iMac as display for laptop PA

I have a work laptop connected to a docking station that I would like to send video over to my 2012 iMac.  Is this possible?  The docking station has ports for VGA, DVI, and displayport and I need to find out a way to get the image from there to the iMac's mini displayport/thunderbolt.

Some Mac with DisplayPort/Thunderbolt support "Target Display Mode", which allows a Mac to become a dumb monitor for another DisplayPort/Thunderbolt capable computer.  Not sure if your Mac supports "Target Display Mode" or not.  Also not sure if your PC will send the correct signals to enable that.
<Target Display Mode: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support>
You could use Microsoft's Remote Desktop software from your Mac to display the PC's desktop on your Mac (I assume the PC is Windows based).

There is a software product called Screen Recycler that may be able to make the Mac into a monitor for the PC

  • Triple Monitor setup for e9270t

I have two 24-inch monitors running at 1920x1200 on my e9270t with GTX260 (1792MB), W7 64-bit. I have an unused 23-inch monitor I'd like to use. I didn't think I could just slap any old video card in. Recommendations?
This is not a gaming rig, I just like lots of real estate for surfing, debugging, etc.
    Thanks.

I called HP and asked if they had a three monitor set up, and was told yes they could customize one.  Told HP that I am a Mac person and am new to the PC world.  Had never run more than one monitor, but that the software I need to run takes three monitors and likes PC's better. Told them the ram, speed, etc that I needed to run, along with the 3 monitors.  They said they could easily provide a system to do that.  I asked it directions for hook up come with the system, and was told it's easy, you will be able to easily tell which hooks to what.  It will be out of the boxes and hooked up in no time.  It's easy. All the parts will be there and since you know computers, even though a different platform, it will be easy, you can do it.
Well, not that easy! Or I am a total idiot.  Not a good intoduction to the PC world!!!!  Gee, with Macs all the parts come in one shipment and ALL the pieces are there and all the cables are there and even easy to follow directions come with...All seems to be not so with HP!!!   Shipment after shipment came and was piled into one corner until the final box, the cpu arrived.
The ports on the back of the monitors and ports on the ATI Radeon HD 5570 2GB DDR2 graphics card are as follows.  I have managed to hook DVI to DVI and HDMI to HDMI and have two monitors up and running.  Now the third is the pain in the.....  It's been over a week of headache.  How do I hook them up?  5 or 6 calls now to HP tech support and it's not on their screen so they don't know.  Nice!!!!  That's why I am asking for more expert help.  You guys.  If I can't get this resolved in a day or two, the whole system is going back to HP and I will never ever ever ever use HP again, ever!!!
The back of each HP monitor (2 are 2311z and 1 is 2310e) has three ports..VGA (blue), DVI-D (white), and HDMI (black)
The graphics card has three ports.. DVI (white), HDMI (black), and DP   There is an adapter for VGA but is doesn't seem to fit into the DP port.  Nothing they gave me fits into the DP port.  I have just come back from both Office Max and Office Depot and they don't have any cables or adaptors with a DP port. I have absolutely no clue.  All I know is that I was promised it would be easy to set up and all the parts would be here, and it would run three monitors!
HP put in this GC based on my asking for a working three monitor system, so at this point I presume that this card will handle three monitors.(gee, I guess that's a lot to presume though)  That's what HP reads off their screen. (they can read and are polite, just don't know anything)  No one there at HP seems to have actually hooded up three monitors before.
Help me know how to hood up this mess and get it working, please.
More and more frustrated every day, guess it shows how much I love HP at this point!!
(And the jerk at HP who gave me this cpu with the speaker setting deep within the software turned off just isn't funny!  No not the mute and not the volume but the actual speaker on and off that controls the jacks was set to off in the software....that took a week to find and fix.  And of course, it wasn't on their screen, so HP tech support couldn't help!  It was only by accident I found that setting!)   So far I think I'm doing quite well for a Mac person.
OK, sorry, back to the point..how do I hook up the GC to the third monitor and get it to work?

  • Use G5 iMac as external monitor/display for Intel iMac?

I have a 24" Intel iMac and a 20" G5 iMac (which is sort of mothballed now).I was wondering if it is possible to use the older iMac as an external monitor, mainly to save the expense of buying a "proper" external display when there seems to be a perfectly usable one sitting there in the G5 iMac.

    translate.google.com.
Actually, it didn't translate very well. But the instructions are basically how to wire up an adapter cable. The G5 iMac appears to use standard DVI signals, so you just need to make a DVI cable to plug in to the internal connector. The table between pages 7 and 8 is what you want. If you've used a soldering iron around electronic devices before, that table is pretty much all you need. The picture of the backside on page 9 is neat. Using the ethernet connector hole to route the wiring. Almost looks like it came from the factory that way.

  • Triple monitor Card for CS5.5?

I am looking to expand my desktop from 2 monitors to three but still get the plusses of CUDA and hardware acceleration. Does anyone know what options I have? I have a Matrox MXO2 mini on the system for HDMI output to am HD flatscreen, but would dearly love the extra real estate of a third 21" monitor. My curreent card is not officially capable of hardware acceleration. It's a GTX 280. I was looking at the GTX 590. THoughts on if that sucker would work for me?
    Appreciate the assist!

I have three monitors that I want for the desktop real estate. My MXO2 mini device sends HDMI video out to an HD flatscreen TV for video monitoring. I want to simply expand the desktop. In essence I'd have three 22" RGB monitors and one 36" HDTV.
I've got a plan to do that now that may not cost me an arm and a leg. I still need to upgrade my video card from the GTX 280 to something beefier, and I can still keep my more than adequate PSU without having to upgrade it as well. I can wait just a bit on that. I've got a friend who just a few moments ago said he'd let me borrow a simple little USB2.0 to DVI adapter to connect my third monitor. It supposedly supports resolutions up to 1920x1200. If it works, my setup will only cost me about an additional $100US (until I upgrade the video card, that is!) Heres the link to the device of which I speak: http://www.startech.com/AV/USB-Video-Adapters/Professional-USB-DVI-External-Dual-or-Multi- Monitor-Video-Adapter~USB2DVIPRO  If it works, I'll post the info here.
FYI, my plan is to have the Premiere timeline on one monitor, the clip bin, effects panels, etc on another, and the audio mixer on the third with room for a browser window or other application available. I could also move things around and have Photoshop or After Effects available too.
Thanks for all the information y'all have posted! I really do appreciate and am thnkful for the knowledge y'all possess!

  • External monitor/display for a 2012 MacBook Pro?

I want to know if I can connect an Acer S201HL to a 2012 MacBook Pro i7 2.9GHz 8GB memory OSX10.8.1 - I will be using a magic mouse and apple wireless keyboard as well - if this setup will work what specific cables and adapters do I need to get? If at all possible I would consider running 2 displays. also running Parralells with Windows 7 Home Premium.

With athundebolt diplay there might be some info here that might help.

If you have a mini DVI port you would need a moni DVI to VGA adapter, and a VGA cable

  • Imac6,1 24" Display for new Mini

Is it possible to use the Imac,6,1 as a monitor display for the new mac mini introduced today? The imac doesn't have enough horses to run Aperture well but otherwise works fine.

Not without a standalone monitor to set up ScreenRecycler or a VNC connection.

  • 19" or 24" of Extended Monitor Display recommendation

    Hi,
Looking for a 19" or 20" or 24" of Extended Monitor Display for my new MacBook Pro.
    What's your recommendation?
Wish to grab some other brand instead Apple Cinema.
    *Hi-Res and WideScreen*
    Thanks!

The boogers are back. Power Supply was not the culprit.
However I had resolved Issue #2:
Another Issue is that so far, a few times when starting the computer in the morning the monitor will not come on. Instead, the white power light flickers in sequences of three. The third flicker stays on the longest.
    Resolution:
According to the monitor manual, the white flickers are a code. For two short flashes followed by a longer one, is indicative of a backlight issue on the display.
So Apple will need to replace or fix the display for the backlight issue.
As for the other issue I've noticed a few others have had similar issues with "The Blue Fuzzies", at the threads below:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3430273#3430273
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=706702&tstart=0
To update my original post, hovering the mouse over the affected areas does not produce a trailing effect anymore.
To temporarily fix either issue involves shutting down the monitor, and unplugging and replugging-in that odd connector on that small white power box that comes with the monitor, (the "DC" cable). (Which originally led me to believe the power supply was at fault.)
Though the monitor and the computer sits on a solid oak desk, I have recently discovered that when "The Blue Fuzzies" are occuring, a very slight bump on the table increases the amount of Fuzzies, or changes the pattern of which they are running. I discovered this when I sneezed.
So where I'm at now is querying anyone with a ati1900 card with a similar issue with "The Blue Fuzzies", as the other (white flickers code) will require replacing/fixing the monitor.
If the x1900 card is stable (none of TBF), I'd rather just get that when the monitor gets replaced.

  • Use imac monitor for laptop display?

Just curious, I've got a new mac book pro but the screen size just isn't sufficient for some applications. My 24" imac works great for it, but since this is my work laptop I'm not supposed to put these files on my home computer (not to mention the programs). So, I want to know if there is any way to use my imac monitor as a display for my laptop.
I know there isn't just a DVI in port on the imac, but there's got to be a way to do this... If it were a PC I'd say remote desktop.

christie.cone, Welcome to the discussion area!
Not directly the iMac does NOT have a video input.
However, you might want to take a look at ScreenRecycler.

  • I'm in the market for a laptop.  Which of Apple's laptops will I best connect 2 external monitors/displays?

I'm in the market for a laptop.  Which of Apple's laptops will I best connect 2 external monitors/displays?

I've just bought a Pro Retina. As far as I know this is the only one which will connect 2 external monitors running different programmes ie not cloned.
You use the 2 thunderbolt ports for the DVIs (if they're not Apple monitors)
You need 2 thunderbolt to DVIs. MiniDisplay port to DVI might work too (MIGHT WORK! Not sure yet) and these are a lot cheaper.

  • How do I use my late 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output.

May be this question has been asked thousand times. how do I use my mid 2011 iMac ( with thunderbolt) as external monitor for laptop/Xbox or other device with hdmi as output. if apple hasn't removed that feature and has just moved that functinoality to thunderbolt then how can I use it. currently there is no laptop available with thunderbolt output. no 3rd party converter available. whats the use of having feature on latest functionality if we cant use it. I wish they would have made one port has mini-dvi and other thunderbolt for backward compatibility untill some vendor comes up with converter.

    It Says :
Mac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) and iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) and later computers support Target Display Mode via Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable (2 m) when the source is another Thunderbolt-equipped computer.
Name one computer model/vendor which has thunderbolt as output for display + audio. this is so stupid to move to new technology without availbility of its compatible devices.

  • IMac (8,1) As Display for Dell Laptop...

Hi All! I just picked up a Dell Inspirion laptop for expanded music production (FL Studio) but the screen is a bit small for my liking as I'm used to the 21.5 screen of the iMac. I wanted to know, is it possible to use the iMac as a display for the Dell? SInce this is a pretty old model of the iMac (8,1) it doesn't support Thunderbolt; so with the other options, will it be able to work? If so, how? Thanks in advance for the answers!

Not directly, no. Your iMac doesn't support Target Disk Mode that would allow you to connect another computer directly. Whether there's software that would allow the iMac to be used as a network display for a Windows system, as ScreenRecycler does to allow another computer as a second display for a Mac, I don't know, but that would be your only option for using the iMac as a second display.
Otherwise, you can take control of your Dell from your Mac via Microsoft's Remote Desktop Client. But it might be more time and cost effective to just pick up a larger LCD screen for your laptop. You can find 24" LCD monitors for well under $200 these days.
    Regards.

  • Use laptop display for dual display

I'm working on a G5 w/ artisan monitor and want some extra screen real estate. I have a G4 power book and wondered if I can somehow use the screen on the laptop as a dual display for the G5? Both run OSX tiger.

    Hi Virginia,
    Welcome to the discussions.
As far as I am aware, the graphics cards on the powerbooks enable you to run a second display from the laptop, but only as a "mirrored" (i.e. identical picture) of the main display on the laptop. For extra screen real estate, you need fully independant operation, and that can't happen.
Also, I don't think you can use the screen off the laptop as a "passive" display, as there is no practical way of supplying the correct video input to your laptop display from the second graphics port of the G5.
For these two reasons, I believe that what you are considering will not be possible.
    Cheers!
    Karl
