Tritton USB 2.0 SVGA

Did tritton ever keep their promise and produce an option for two monitors for the Mac mini ? I read about all the press releases in June of 2005 saying they would release one in July of 2005 but can find nothing on any website even their own. Just wondering
Matt

I actually called Tritton today and was informed that they are still trying to fix the bugs present on the mac version of the usb to vga adaptor so they havent released it yet.

  • Maximum cable lengths for USB / FW / DVI & sVGA?

I've hunted around on the net and can't find any kind of definitive answer regarding maximum cable lengths for USB, Firewire 400/800 and DVI / sVGA monitors. Can anyone shed some light?
I'm about to shift my studio into a new room, and have the oppourtunity to stick my G5 and external drives into a corridor cupboard adjacent to where my studio is - in other words, noise free bliss! But....
...if I map out how far my computer monitors, keyboard and audio interface will be from the cupboard, and take into account the twists and turns involved in neat routing, I'm looking at a distance of about 10 meters. I need to know if any of these devices will be OK with such a long run of cable, and if not, if it's possible to achieve a good result using hubs or repeaters?
So, can anyone help me out with info on:
    an Apogee Ensemble (Firewire 400)
    an Apple keyboard (USB 2.0)
    an LCD flatscreen (DVI)
    and another LCD flatscreen (sVGA)
    Many thanks!

I was just researching the very same thing, though it does not  sound like my studio setup will be as sweet as yours. Here are a few things I ran across:
    FIREWIRE-
"The maximum cable length specified by the IEEE1394 standard is 4.5 meters. However, more recent tests have shown that certain high quality firewire cables can achieve longer lengths without significantly affecting transmission quality. Several manufacturers sell firewire cables longer than 5 meters (some up to 50 meters)."

I found an example of a company who claims to sell a firewire cable of that length:

There is forum discussion on the topic I was reading yesterday:
    http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=804
But don't go past the 11th post or so, they go off on another subject... the use of hubs & the words "active extension" in that post caught my eye. A quick google search came up with this site:
    http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=804
There were a bunch sites with devices claiming to do this.
Finally I have this chart, which seems to support what what the articles say, without of course any other extension technology/solutions:

I'm not making any claims at all about how true these sources are, I just have the same questions and decided to toss what I've been looking at into the discussion. Feel free anyone to jump in and tell me its all wrong - I'd love to hear whats right.

  • Trying to run 2 external monitors, can't turn off clone mode

I have the 13" macbook pro running snow leopard, and recently bought two acer VGA monitors with a Matrox DualHead2Go. My problem: each monitor shows the same exact thing no matter what i do. I understand this is called "clone mode," and i can't seem to turn it off. I downloaded the driver for the matrox, and have tried a million different things to get clone mode to turn off. It seems like my computer only recognizes one monitor. When i try to arrange the displays under the preferences, it only shows only one external display. I have scoured the internet--no one else seems to have this exact problem. My guess is something's wrong with the dualhead2go, or maybe the one i have isn't the right one, or isn't for mac. Help please!
    thanks,
    hcm

If it's not too late to look at other products, you may want to check out Tritton's USB for multiple monitors.  Before I switched from a PC, I had used Matrox Dual Head2Go with hit and miss luck.  I then switched over to Tritton's product - it was a lot cheaper and worked better for me.  When I switched to my MacBook Pro, I was able to continue to use the Tritton USB.  I am currently running two monitors (VGA), plus my MacBook montor, for a total of three monitors.  For my two VGA monitors, I am using a DVI to VGA plug, and the Tritton USB.  It's been working great for me, and no problems with using extended desktop (as opposed to clone).
Good luck, and let me know if you have any folow-up questions.

  • Blueberry Video output

Is there anyway to connect an external monitor to the original blueberry ibooks (300Mhz, 1999). I know that on some of the later models (466Mhz for example) the A/V port had video out, but that isn't the case for mine. Any options on the usb side of things?

Try the Engadget Tritton USB 2.0 video available at:
    http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000527043311/
It says that is for a Mini, but it looks like it will work with a Blueberry Mac for my Blueberry. I will probably purchase one within the next few months.

  • KVM and image quality

Anyone know whether a KVM switch will cause image degradation?
if so, where does the degradation come from?
    ray

I've got a Belkin KVM that has 2 USB ports, 1 SVGA port, and both an audio in and audio output port.
It works great. But, there are very noticeable wavy lines on the screen if you look at a flat gray screen (like during startup).
You can see the lines if you look closely while at the desktop. But, it is much harder to see then. It is very noticeable during the startup process though.
I believe this is due to signal degradation from the longer cable.
It's not bad enough to annoy me. But, it does stress the eyes a bit (like a very low refresh rate does).
Overall, I don't notice it visually. But, I feel it in my eyes.

  • Bought Tritton ax180 headset and pavilion g6-1373ea doesnt pic up usb mic please help

Recently bought Tritton AX180 Universal headset and it uses a usb microphone instead of a 2.5mm microphone jack.
Anyway, I can't seem to set it up so my Laptop can use its usb microphone.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Tritton AX360 Headphones

I've got these headphones from Tritton that I cannot figure out how to get the microphone to work on.
I've got them connected to my mac pro via the optical port but the mac doesn't seem to realize that the mic is there.
Anyone have any ideas how to get this working?
    G-Man

There's probably only an optical output available. Optical doesn't do combine input and output. Try a USB device that has headphones and a mic that should work very well.

  • Can't access usb flash drive while running a Linux OS

    Hello,
I'm a student taking a UNIX class at a local university.  I downloaded required Linux software for my class, called Knoppix version 4.0.2, on my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895.  The program runs fine but I cannot save the script I create to my usb flash drive.  The flash drive is a 4Gb Sandisk.  The light comes on the flash drive when plugged in but no icon is displayed on my desktop and the Knoppix OS won't recognize the flash drive.
I've discussed this problem with my Instructor and he can't identify what's causing the problem.  I've ran the Knoppix software on a friend's computer and it runs and recognizes my flash drive fine.  So the disk is good.  I've searched on the Internet and have had no luck discovering a solution.  I'm thinking now the problem could be with my processor, AMD Turion 64 X2.  But, I've been reading online, other computer users with an AMD Turion 64 X2 are having no trouble running Knoppix OS.  Below are the Knoppix system requirements and what is loaded on my computer.
    Knoppix system requirements:
    Intel processor (i486 or later)
32 MB of RAM for text mode, 64 MB for graphics mode
    Bootable CD-ROM drive
    Standard SVGA compatible graphics card
    Serial or PS/2 standard mouse
    My system:
    Toshiba Satellite L305-S5895
    Model: PSLC0U-01S01F
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz
    3.00 GB RAM
    32-bit operating system
Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2
Please give advice on what you think could be my problem.
    Thank you,
    Bradley

Try to manually mount it via Terminal.
Open Terminal and runs this command.
    >sudo /sbin/fdisk/ -l
That should list the available disks. They will be sda1, sda2, sda3, sdb, ect. Usually the USB will be sdb if you don't have a second hard drive.
    Now run this command.
    >sudo mount /dev/sd*
Replace * with what the USB is.
    That should mount your USB

  • Mounting Lexar USB JumpDrive on Virtual PC6 Windows XP Pro

Lexar USB Jump Drive 512MB instructions say no drivers needed for Mac OSX or Windows 2000 or XP.
Mounts immediately on Mac desktop, but does not mount in my Windows XP Virtual PC6 application. Tried downloading available driver from Lexar site (for Windows 98) but still did not mount - 'Hardware Found' wizard did not appear and manual attempt also unsuccessful.
Puzzled, since my other two non-Lexar flash drives (Disgo) mount and work fine. Could always try dragging files from jump drive in Mac OS across to Windows but would like to do it properly from within VPC. Mounts OK in normal Windows on IBM PC.
    Please help.

Well, if you are interested in a long explanation - Microsoft is not interested in VPC working to its potential, but adding it to the arsenal of trying to control the world with marketshare. Reality sometimes *****. What makes VPC so bad is the fact that it is software trying to emulate hardware. So whether you are trying to get away from PC problems by using VPC, guess what? Welcome to the world of Microsoft.
Case in point. A real installation system requirement for WinXP on a true PC hardware is 233 Mhz Processor (the Powerbook emulates between 290-299Mhz Processor), SVGA (Which on the Mac emulates Trio VGA, how much more ancient can you get?). It's a cash cow, really.
Anyway, I hope you get things worked out with the drive issue. Keep me updated.

  • Tritton ax360 5.1 headphones not working

This doesn't really fit in this discussion category, but I couldn't find a better one.
I bought a pair of Tritton ax360 headphones and for the life of me I cannot get them to work correctly. They will work in stereo just fine, but I can't get the 5.1 feature to work. Its plugged into my mac via the digital output. I've messed with settings in Mainstage, Logic, System Prefs, the device itself. I've tried every combination of settings and none will work.
When I go into Audio & MIDI setup in the utilities folder and go to Audio Output, source is set as Digital Out, and I have tried every combination of the two format drop down menus but nothing will work. Whatever settings I have them set at when I click configure speakers it will not allow me to select any option other than stereo?
Anybody else have this problem, or any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Brad

Yeah, I have the AXPROs and I have tried connecting via optical and usb, but neither is getting me any closer to figuring out how to get 5.1 out of the headphones. I have tried everything you have, but to no avail. APPLE! PLEASE HELP!

  • IPad responds slowly when SVGA adapter attached

I've used my iPad 4th gen (64GB/Verizon wifi) with the Lightning SVGA adapter on several occasions, with an external monitor. It's worked fine, running iOS 6. After upgrading the iOS 7, it's virtually unusable. The screen slows to a crawl doing anything. It's as if someone poured molases in the device. The minute I unplug the dongle, the iPad returns to a normal response to input. This has GOT to be a major bug, right? Is there a workaround, or is this another 7-point-uh-oh/wait for a new rev of the OS thing?
    Brad

I am having exactly the same issue - at first I thought it was related to the USB ports or the cable (as mentioned in numerous forums), however, having tried all of that the same is happening.
My iPad is not recognised on my Mac, nor will it register that it is plugged in to any power source. I left it for the day, and it charged about 10% (which is nothing as it has been on the charge for more than 30 hours now).
    I haven't even had it a month!
Hope someone figures out how to fix it so I don't have to make a trip to the Mac store (especially as my iPhone is being fixed as we speak and I am really running out of my favorite tools if the iPad also gets taken away).
    Any news??

  • Download recordings onto a USB stick

I have several recordings on my BT Vision (silver) box thee of which Iwould like to download and keep to view on my PC.
There is a USB port on the front of the box but no instructions on downloading to it.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

the easy way is to plug in a dvd recorder to the scart socket
a way i have used is to connect my digital video camera to the svga and audio connectors and record to that which gives me a copy on digital tape
then by connecting the camera via usb or firewire to my pc i can then transfere this digital copy to my pc where i can edit it and burn it to dvd

  • Boot usb dont work to recover dead bios on lenovo t500

cant recover my dead bios on t500.too bad im in zimbabwe there is no ibm lenovo companies for help.i jus get back to use my dinosaur desktop.

I'll start by asking if you get the Thinkpad image on the screen when you power on the system?
USB functions are provided by the BIOS, without a functional BIOS, there is no functional USB.   In the case of BIOS corruption where the machine becomes unusable there is little answer other then finding an Lenovo repair center.  However before I considered it dead I would try resetting the CMOS and see if that helps,  The HMM http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/43y6630_04.pdf will show you how to take the unit apart to gain access to the battery, it is located under the keyboard.  Make sure you have the AC, and battery removed when you do this.  Best of luck, hopefully you don't have a completely dead system.

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 color M551dn - Optional USB Device port

Hi, I'm hoping to buy the optional wireless print server (HP Jetdirect 2700w USB Wireless Print Server J8026A). There is one problem though, the optional USB device port seems to not exist on my printer. I only notice that the USB logo is present where the port is supposed to be. The plastic in the area is squared off as though it is some sort of break away tab and the port is underneath maybe.
There is no reference to this in the manual anywhere and I am really unsure how to proceed. I don't want to damage anything.
If someone experienced with this model (preferably an HP Employee) can confirm the availability of the port and tell me how to access it (Is it a break away tab?). Part of the reason why I bought this printer is the optional Wireless N print server.
    Thank You in advance.

Thank You for your reply. The port you are talking about is the front panel port for walk-up usb printing and firmware upgrades. This port is indeed available on the higher end LaserJet 500 (NON-MFP, printer only edition) as I just used it to upgrade the firmware. The port I am talking about is the one on the left side in the ports section which you use to plug in the optional print server (not the computer I/O port).
This is shown in the official manual and the spec sheet so I'm 85% sure the port is there, hp can't advertise and mention something that is not available as this would be a big problem and make the 2700w print server incompatible when it clearly states that it is. I just need someone to confirm the availability and clear my confusion (either from HP, or another owner who bought the wireless print server 2700w).
