Trouble adding iTunes songs to slide show displays

When displaying a group of photos in a slide show (view photos in full screen), I am unable to use my iTunes songs. I know how to "browse" and add the sample music from my music files (and that works fine), but it won't work w/my iTunes songs. I click on the iTunes file and it shows me the artists. I can then click on the folder and choose one of the songs. However, when I try to "Select" or "Open" the song, the title of the song disappears and it reads "No items match your search".
I am able to open and listen to my iTunes songs when I am not in PSE. I have PSE 7, and am new to PSE.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My guess is that your songs in iTunes are not in a file format that PSE can use - what format are they? And they might also have DRM (digital rights) restrictions.
I suggest that you try using iTunes to burn an mp3 file of one of the songs that you wish to use and then try that mp3 file in the PSE slide show.

  • Adding music from iTunes to a slide show in iPhoto

Why can't I seem to add music from iTunes to a slide show in iPhoto?

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.

  • Only one song in slide show?

I only seem to be able to select one song in slide show mode, what am I doing wrong?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Adding music to a slide show from Itunes

How do i add music to a slide show from itunes? When i go into the Itunes folder I get all the way to where the music file should be and it says there are no files found.

    Hi Rodney,
    Here's what you do.
When you click on music and the window opens, click on your library then look at the bottom of the window where you will see a small clear dot - click and drag this up and voila - there's the music.
A very annoying feature that iPhoto hides this section by default.

  • PSE12  problem adding audio media to slide show

I have followed the instructions but can't get the music to show up in the audio elements organizer..

    Hi James:
    Welcome to discussions.
You can get the songs you rip from your CD to export into iTunes by the following:
    1. iTunes - Pref - Advanced - Import. Change import using to MP3.
Now all new songs you rip from CD will export with iPhoto
To correct those songs already in iTunes so they will export, do the following:
    1. highlight song in iTunes Library
    2. Toolbar go to Advanced - Click Convert Selection to MP3
3.Now you will have a duplicate of that song in your library. The one just added that you converted, add MP3 to title
4.Use MP3 song in your slide show.
    5. Audio should export with photos.
Post back and let me know if this works for you. It does for me. You cannot change songs imported from iTunes this way; it will only work on songs from your CD. We will have to wait for updates for a permanent fix.
    Good luck-

  • Using downloaded songs for slide show background music

Maybe I am naive, but I just joined iTunes and downloaded some music to use as background for slide shows of family pics. I am using Microsoft Plus! to put the slide shows together. The iTunes songs downloaded in MPEG-4 and the Plus! code will only recognize MP3. I am also concerned that the copyright protection will make the songs not useable for the slide show compilations. Any ideas? Thanks!

In iTUnes you can burn the song to CD then reimport it as a MP3. Goto edit>preferences>advanced tab>Import sub tab, and set it from "AAC" to "MP3" then hit OK
Now burn the songs to CD in itunes. Put the CD back in and hit the "Import" button in the top right corner of itunes

  • Problem with adding music to a slide show

I am trying to add add'l music to a slide show in Elements 9.  The first songs added easily.  I am now getting a message that the "codec" is insufficient.  There does not seem to be any difference in the properties of the songs that are being rejected and the songs that loaded.  How do I correct this to add the MP3 songs?

Thanks for your response. In answer to your questions:
    1. What is PRE?
    2. mpeg is not a choice on my version of pse7. Only mp3, wav, wma and ac3.

  • Adding music to a slide show

We have made a large slide show with over 300 photos. We arranged a play list in itunes of six songs. The problem seems that when we chose the playlist, it only plays the last song on the list of six over and over. We would like it to play the list ( all 6 songs) and in the same order placed on the list. Any suggestions.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Your thread got hijacked so I'll try to help you the best that I can. Are any of those tracks from the iTMS? If so then you should be running the latest Quicktime version so that they will be accessable to the other iApps. Give that a try and see it it helps.
As a test create another test slideshow and use just one track, one of those that don't play in your big slideshow. If it doesn't play in the new slideshow then the previous suggestion may be barking up the right tree.
    Do you Twango?

  • More than one song in slide show

Can you help me figure out how to put more than one song in a slide show? It seems that I can only put one song and it keeps repeating itself. Help?

    Hi Mommy tbone
Welcome to apple discussions. According to apple's help menu you can do this by creating a custom playlist and then using it within iDvd. But in practice (personal choice only) I avoid iTunes completely due to DRM issues I've experienced in the past when playing a dvd. And that includes making a playlist within iTunes. Hence I prefer using QT Pro to meld audio tracks together (that or iMovie 6). I've even been known to first burn an audio track to CD and importing the audio directly into either iMovie or iDvd. I then use the new track in iDvd's audio drop well. So in a nutshell, those are the approaches that are available to you. Feel free to choose any of the above or whatever works best for your iDvd project.

  • Sudden Change to Slide Show Display/Presenter View Greyed Out

Two weeks ago powerpoint was acting normally. I would come into class, hook my netbook up to the projector, set my monitor output option to extended desktop and start my slideshow in presenter view. This morning I went into class and I was unable to use
presenter view. It was greyed out. I had to clone the displays and wing it without my notes. Also, the slideshow itself *looked* different. There was an orange menu bar at the bottom that I could not get rid of. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hi Michelle,
Do you mean the "Use Presenter View" option under "SLIDE SHOW" tab on the ribbon is greyed out for you?
When you are in the "Slide Show" mode, please try to right click on the slide and see if you can select the "Show Presenter View" from the context menu.
Have you ever made any changes to your computer recently? You might want to try installing any required updates, including updating your graphic card driver to the latest version, then try again.
"There was an orange menu bar at the bottom..." - Is it possible to share a screenshot of it with us? You can send the file to this email account:

  • Adding images to a slide show

I'm sure this has been asked a bazillion times here but I'm
so new to Flash (we're talking a couple of days) that I wouldn't
know what to search on much less what question(s) to ask. That
having been said I'm tasked with adding images to an existing Flash
site that has 4 slide shows (it's for a photographer). I have all
of the .fla files and I can successfully change an image but when
it plays it's taller than the other existing images (even though
they are the same height in pixels) and I'm sure fixing that is
    just a couple of clicks.
    He said with false self-confidence...
I have other, more specific, questions but it's better to ask
    them in
    this
image to be more clear about what I'm referring to (without
    knowing the correct terminology).
I know Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator and GoLive (so I'm
no knucklehead) but Flash is a whole new ball game so I apologize
for my ignorance. Once I get up to speed with Flash I won't be
    asking dumb stuff like this.
As a sidebar question what's the best way to get up to speed
with Flash? Is Lynda.com any good?
    TIA

I had to restart and opened the file. It asked me if I wanted to try to recover the operations in process before. I said yes. Then it gave me this error which was similar to one of the first two errors I got but did not write down.

  • Adding music to my slide show

How do I download music (no video) from the internet and save it on my slide show?  Thanks in advance.

If you want familiar music you have to purchase files from Amazon or iTunes. If you do a Google search for free production music, or similar, you can probably find some free stuff that you can use. I have played around a little bit with some of those, but I haven't really found much that I like. You can also use music from your own CD collection.

  • Adding music to a slide show in Lightroom 5

I have created a slideshow with Lightroom 5 that has 807 photos.  The duration of the slide show is 1 hour, 33 minutes.  When I try to add music in LR 5, it will allow only one song.  How do I add music that will cover the entire slide show?

Lightroom only allows for one music file. If you want a longer file, you'll have to splice together your music files in another application (such as Audition) and use that larger file in Lightroom.

I plan on using a DVD player to view the show. I have tried Movie Maker but I could not figure out how to get the show off of my computer since a DV camera is required and I do not have one. The DVD software that came with my PC is Cyberlink PowerDVD. I cannot use this because I do not have a DVD burner.
    Thank you.
You say that you do not have a DVD burner on your PC - so please explain in some detail how you plan to use the DVD player for your TV. For example, does your DVD player for the TV have a slot where you can insert a USB device? What is the make and model of the DVD player machine? Or did you mean that you will use DVD player software with your computer connected to your TV?
Movie Maker - you don't need a DV camera : you can output a WMV file from Movie Maker just as you can from the Photoshop Elements Slide Show Editor.  The dilemma seems to be that neither of these programs will produce a video DVD conforming output.
Here are some ideas that I was developing - however, we do need to understand what type of output you have the capability to play in order to determine what will help for your specific situation:
I was thinking that an approach might be to make each section of slide show in PSE Slide Show Editor and separately output each as a separate WMV file. Then use Windows Movie Maker and layout sections of the slide show with your video files in between the slide show sections as you wish.  Then you could output a single wmv file from Windows Movie Maker.  Another alternative would be to do everything in Windows Movie Maker and not use the PSE slide show editor at all.

  • More than one song for slide show

I'm putting a slide show together and would like to use two song. Is this possible and if so how? I've tried selecting 2 songs one after the other on the music list, but it just replays the first song. I'm using iphoto '08 Vs 7.1.5 (378).
    Thanks

With iPhoto 09 you create the playlist right in the music setting window for the slideshow:
