Trouble Airprinting

I have just bought a Hp  printer  b110e which is compatible with air print but even though i have a good wifi connection it keeps losing contact with the printer after about a minute , ive turned everything else off that is wifi ,but cannot cure the problem .Any ideas.

Sharon-
The B110 is similar to the D110 available in the U.S., and should be compatible as you stated.  The first thing to do when setting up the printer, is to check for a firmware update.  The option is available in one of the printer's setup menus, assuming it has WiFi access to the internet.
It is also possible you are having a problem with your WiFi router.  I suggest you unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in.  After another minute, see if there is any improvement.  Otherwise, it may need a firmware upgrade or a change to its setup.

Epson WF-2530, will not find the printer via AirPrint. On network ok.

    1. Make sure you install CD that comes with printer.
    2. Make sur printer is using the latest firmware.
    3. Reboot iPad and router if necessary.

Brother MFC-J430W will print form brother app but will. It be found when I try to use AirPrint. I have checked that the printer is AirPrint compatibile.

You probably need to update the printer's firmware in order to get AirPrint support. Here's the pritner's support page and that includes a link to their firmware updater:

  • HT4356 HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 color MFP M575 Airprint?

I installed a new HP Laserjet 500 (great fast printer) and all Mac's and Win7 have no trouble printing but iPhone's and iPad's do not find the printer. It is plugged into the Comcast Business gateway which is perhaps not AirPrint compatible? The wireless access point is an Airport Express with up to date firmware. There is no newer firmware for the printer.
I wished there were another way to check whether this "AirPrint" service is on or off on the HP.  My SNMP network thingy on the iPhone shows HTTPS (443), HTTP (80) (great web interface!), Telnet (23), FTP (21) Line-printer (515) and Internet Printing (631).  Should I be seeing something named Airprint or is the Internet Printing it?  I did not enable and subscribe to HL ePrint.  I never had to do that with other HP printers to get AirPrint working.
Any insights or things I should have done?
It is not on the list.

HP support said it works, It does not for me.

There is a place to verify that AirPrint is On.
Networking Tab, then Other settings. Bonjour and Airprint are Tick'd on mine, though no love printing to it via iOS.
I'm able to get ePrint to work just fine, its the other iOS AirPrint apps that cannot see the printer.

  • AirPrint and the D-Link DIR-655 solution

After much messing around I have finally achieved the ability to airprint using a DLink DIR-655 router.
In my own search for a solution it became apparent this is bothering a lot of you. So here is my solution.
    Basic equipment we were using:
iPhone 4s / iPad2 / iPad3 / MacBookPro Retina / Mac mini / Apple TV (the new one - forget its model) / some random android devices / Win 7 PC
    HP photosmart 5510 (B111a) Firmware ver. EPL2CN1239AR
DLink DIR-655 router (ver. B1) Firmware ver. 2.05
Set up HP printer over USB cable as per normal.
Remove USB cable and finalise connection to wireless network as per normal (follow the HP setup).
Log into your router via your browser.
    In your router settings:
under SETUP / NETWORKSETTINGS / ADD DHCP Reservation (all my other devices are dynamic - this step is not essential but saves you time if you want to use your browser to log into the printer and scan or whatever - you can bookmark the address). Put in the appropriate details. You should be able to see the IP address, mac address, device name for the printer listed in Dynamic DHCP Clients section directly below.
Save settings then log back into router.
under ADVANCED / FIREWALL SETTINGS / Enable SPI - make sure SPI is disabled. That is to say, the box is not ticked. This is important.
under the same menu (ADVANCED / FIREWALL SETTINGS the next options down are NAT ENDPOINT FILTERING. For UDP Endpoint Filtering select "Endpoint Independent". For TCP Endpoint Filtering select "Endpoint Independent".
Save settings then log back into router.
under ADVANCED / ADVANCED NETWORK / MULTICAST STREAMS - check the box to enable Multicast Streams.
    Save your settings.
    Enjoy!

    Hi Noel
I am currently changing out my entire network.
I am trying to avoid apple routers for both configurability and price.
The bonjour issues I had been having really bugged me and lately despite HP replacing my printer, D-Link sending me an unreleased firmware I can print now from iPhones but not iPads.
    This is crazy.
Using cunning software I was able to see the original HP printer was not broadcasting on bonjour.
Got the new one, now it is. They were very kind at HP and gave me a free upgrade to a printer worth about 150 more. I have a lot of respect for their customer service.
However, now I can see it is broadcasting on bonjour as mentioned above I can only print from the iPhones, not the iPads. (?????)
I am looking into some routers compatible with DD-WRT (a nice firmware created by some people much smarter than I am) http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index
At another location with similar devices we have had no trouble getting everything to work including all the bridging etc.
This still has not resolved my iPad no airprint issue but I intend to check this out at the other location tomorrow.
Unfortunately the DIR-655 uses a cpu that is not compatible with DD-WRT.
I am also wanting to integrate one apple airport express to airstream music (I don't like the compression of bluetooth).
In the next 2 weeks I am going to finalise all of this and will let you know how I go.
Please keep me posted on any advancements you have too.
Edit: Oh and by the way, I, like you am using many different OS. I have about 9 iOS and osX devices, several windows PC's, 2 android devices, samsung wireless TV, dvico media player, aTV, gaming devices, HP printer etc etc... Networking used to be something I enjoyed. I have in the past had long range wireless links, linux boxes set up as routers etc but in an effort to simplify have reduced all of this (and the long range wifi link was highly illegal in terms of wattage but meant I had a 6kM link betwween two properties - probably effecting everyone in the ways own wifi ).

  • IPad 3 does not find Canon MG6200 for Airprint by my iPhone 4 does...

I have a Canon MG6200 which I can airprint to fine from my iPhone 4(iOS 5.1) but my iPad 3 (iOS 5.1) refuses to find the printer when trying to print from iBooks or Safari,  (i've not tried any other apps but suspect they would be the same).
The printer options dialog appears fine but when I tap on Select Printer it reports Looking for Printers... and then says No Airprint Printers found.
The iPhone and iPad are sitting next to each other at my desk with the printer on the floor next to me. Any suggestions?

    Dpsharp-
A few weeks ago when I had trouble printing, I found that my WiFi connection had jumped to a neighbor's WiFi that had the same name.  Be sure your iPad is connected to the right one.  There are a LOT of WiFi base stations out there named "Linksys"!

  • My iPhone cannot find my AirPrint printer HP Photosmart 7525.  What do I do?

My iPhone and iPad cannot find any AirPrint Printers.  MY HYP Photosmart 7525 is AirPrint compatible, what can I do?

    Hey kennethfrommascoutah,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Since you are having trouble using AirPrint follow this section of the article.
    About AirPrint
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
    If you're unable to print
Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."
Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves your issue.
Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators displayed on the printer's control panel. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Trouble adding printer to HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app - can't find printer's email address

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart c6380 to my iPhone. I already downloaded the app and my printer is connected to my wireless network, as is my iPhone, but I can't add my printer to the app.
When I go to "Manage ePrinters" and try to add a printer with the + button I see 3 choices:
Add ePrinter from list: "No ePrinters available"
Add Manually: I can't find the printer's email address even using the instructions found at the ePrint center.
Add from WiFi Network: My printer isn't shown in this list so it does not support auto discovery.
So I'm guessing that if I could just find my printer's email address that would connect it to my iPhone for wireless printing, but I can't for the life of me find it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

    Hello amybett,
I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that your printer is not Airprint/ePrint capable. However, the good news is that with the HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app it does not need to be Airprint/Eprint capable, as long as it is connected to the same network as your phone.
Here are the steps you will want to take to print something:
    1. Setup the app by completing the email registration and entering the code (which I believe you have).
    2. Select the item you wish to print using the menu in the app (Photo Albums, Saved Files, Web Browser, etc.).
    3. Once you select the item you should see the item and a large "Print" button under it.
    4. If the printer you want to print to is not listed above the "Print" button, select the icon on the right (wrench/computer) and select the printer you wish to use (along with other settings).
    5. Tap on the "Back" button in the top left corner, then tap "Done" (blue button in the top right corner), and then tap the "Print" button to print your item.
Let me know if you are still having trouble after following the guide above.

  • Apple Products no longer AirPrint with new routers

I have a OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 Series printer and was using a linksys WRT160N V2 router (open without a password protection).  I also have an HP Laptop, a MacBook Pro Retina, two IPhones and an IPad.  All devices were able to print wirelessly on the Office Jet.
I sought to repace the router first with a Linksys AC1200 and then with an Apple Airport Extreme.  With both routers the HP laptop was able to print wirelessly to the printer.  However, the apple products could not.  All equipment is on the same network (password protected).  Sometimes the Apple products can see the printer and I think when first connected they will print.  But within a few minutes will no longer be able to perform an airprint.  If I delete the printer and try to add it - the printer disappears as a nearby printer and sometimes does not show up as a bonjour printer either.
While I can limp along with the older router, I worry that when it finally dies, I will no longer be able to use this printer wirelessly.  I have both new routers in their boxes ready to be returned - but perhaps there is a solution.
I have spent hours on the phone with both Apple and witih Linksys to no avail.  I do think this is an HP problem and so do they.
I have tried limiting the router to a 2.x Ghz - and note that using a 5 Ghs frequency makes the Apple products ever less happy.

    Hi @StarvationPoint,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that since changing your router that you are encountering difficulties in using AirPrint from your Apple mobile devices.
I have included a post by @Shirlzz1 on the forums titled Help Determine if your router can support AirPrint with the Bonjour Discovery App. It will walk you through downloading an app that checks to see if the routers support Bonjour (I know the Apple AirPort Extreme does).
I’ve also included the Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs document. It has some great trouble shooting steps in the “What if a 'No AirPrint Printers Found' message displays on my Apple device?” section.
Please let me know the outcome.

  • HT4356 Frontier installed Super Fios and I cannot print from iPad to my airprinter as it will not connect to same network now Any suggestions

My Internet was changed to Fios and Frontier installed a new router with different Essig and wep key.  How do I connect my air printer to wifi.  My iPad is using same SSID AND PASSWORD AND CONNECTS TO NEW ROUTER BUT NOT MY PRINTER.  EPSON ASKS FOR VALUE. NOT SURE WHAT IS TO BE ENTERED FOR THAT. TRIED WEP KEY. ESSIG NO AND. PASSWORD USED FOR WIFI NAME ON IPAD. NO LUCK.
MHAS ANYONE HAD TROUBLE WHEN UPGRADING WITH FRONTIER HIGH SPEED INTERNET.  CAN FRONTIER GIVE ME THE NEW SSIG AND PASSWORD

    Uwdawgfan-
Your new router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  Contact Frontier to correct the router's setup.  A firmware update may be required.

  • Hp photosmart premium all in one -won't let me AirPrint

I have today bought this printer, which according to apple and HP is AirPrint enabled. I've installed it, I've checked for firmware updates and it works fine with my laptop and the eprint function. However, my iPad and iPhone can not find it and so I am unable to use the AirPrint function. My iPad and printer are both using the same wireless connection, so what's going wrong?

    Laura,
There are quite a few trouble shooting steps in my [FAQ|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2658560&tstart=0]. But to cut to the chase, first make sure you can run one of the Apps on the Printer and its getting content. Then make sure the firmware is the latest (Tools->Web->Automatic Updates->Check for Product Updates). Then power cycle everything (Router, Printer, iOS device). If it's still not working, more likely then not its a problem with your wireless router and Bonjour, so post back what brand of router you have, the model, and how your network is configured.
    Just trying to help.

  • Trouble with findig printer with Bonjour (HP all in one printer)

    Hi,
I have a problem with connecting to my HP Printer.
When the printer and the iMac is booted freshly I can connect to the printer without any problems, also I can find the printer trought the printer browser via Bonjour.
But after a while the connection is completely lost with the printer, the only way I can connect to the printer is by IP, the dns name (http://HPxxxx.local.) is also not working anymore.
The only solution is turning off the printer and putting it on again, even sometimes I have to restart the iMac.
Is it possible a new installed wireless modem/router is cousing this odd behaviour ? Because it looked like the trouble whas coming after the new router was installed.
When I ping to the printer I can see there are some timeouts from time to time and when the timeouts take too long, the result is that I can't find the printer trough Bonjour anymore.
    Thanks!

    Hi cowla1,
I understand you need the drivers for the HP 6500A on a Mac. I can help you but will need some more information.
I have provided a link for the drivers up to 10.8. The 10.9 drivers show the documentation to run the Apple Updates for the driver install. HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer - E710a Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.
Make sure when you add the printer, it shows the printer name and not the printer name + Airprint.
What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a nice day!

sorry to learn that you are having this isue
Can you try HP Eprint home and Biz to see if also gives you trouble this one. I personally perfer this over Airprint although they have very similar capabilites due to the fact that the latter will provide you more options in terms of printing remember this will work if the devices and the printer are in the same network gateway or router address,  in Does your router supports bonjour (Mdns)? That may be another factor that may be affecting this.
    Let me know the outcome in the case you need more assistance I will do my best to help you;
    Hope this helps;
