Trouble batching kabota actions in CS2

So here is the Deal. I am working with a Mac G4 that I have "souped up" and runs great. I am running Photoshop CS2 . I can run a Batch Action of any other action set (non Kabota) and have no problems. I DO know how to make my own actions as well. BUT when I run a Batch Kabota action, the Dashboard pops up and Halts the Action until you hit apply. Erin and I have tried numerous fixes, included her sending me a "Mini" action that I loaded into my Photoshop action Pallet and the Dashboard still comes up. I have a big project and need to have this run, while I am doing other things. HELP!!!!
I don't know what else to try. My gut tells me it is something in my CS2 settings, but I have no idea what. I already re installed the software and still nothing.

I guess You will have to employ Scripts to achieve that.
I would recommend JavaScript, because it works on Windows and MacIntosh.
Maybe You should check out the Photoshop Scripting-forum.

Actions: Copying ACTIONS from CS2 to CS3

I have some very involved actions in CS2 that I want to be able to use in CS3. How do I duplicate them or transfer to CS3 ?

From within CS2, save them to the location of your choice.
Then load them in CS3.

If nothing in photoshop has that shortcut other than your action, perhaps that's a shortcut that some
other running software is stealing from photoshop or the operating system itself has that shortcut assigned to print.
I know some computer manufactors often have different functions assigned to some shortcuts that will override the photoshop keyboard shortcuts.
What happens when you use the shortcut F12 in another program?
Are you using any kind of macro program like AutoHotKey?
Are you using a laptop?

Trouble Opening Illustrator and Photoshop CS2??

When opening Adobe Illustrator CS2 I receive a Windows Box showing Adobe Illustrator: Illustrator.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x003c197d" referenced memory at "0x000000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
I am also having trouble accessing Adobe Photoshop CS2. When I open the program it simply stays in one sequence as a loop and does not completely open.

32 bit Windows XP
I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the full program and it still has the same problem.
I even checked my ram by moving a single memory card from one slot to the next to see if that was the problem but still the same error messages.

Problems with Automate Batch tasks in Photoshop CS2

"Could not complete the action, since the destination folder does not exist" message appears when I Automate a task that I have previously recorded and successfully used.
When I choose Automate, then Batch, then select action, then select a source folder and a destination folder the message appears. Once "OK" is selected it completes the action but only one image at a time before the error message comes back. If I am repeating the task on a folder with several images, I have to sit and click "OK" to the error message for each image for the task to complete.
How can I get the Action to Automate itself without the error message popping up? The destination folder does exist and I have tried re-recording the actions but the same message continues to come up.

Well, maybe "Save for web" command has remembered the folder for saving files. And then you use Automate Batch they trying to save exactly in THAT folder in spite of you choose another in Batch. If that folder doesn't exist program returns en "error" message. Try to restore "original" folder and run Batch again.

Trouble with mixing actions

After a long time i will try to spend new time to Automator, but i have a little bit trouble...
So i can't mixing some actions from the library.
Little example...
I select from the library the "Finder" actions... All available actions for the "Finder" are listed. So i select one of the actions and after them i changed to the "iPhoto" actions from the lib. But Automator didn't switching to the selected "iPhoto" source. I canÄt see the iPhoto actions.
It's only works if i used the "Applications" Folder from the Automator lib.
Have you any idea what i can do???

Shot in the dark.. but, you could try removing the preference file for Automator:
HD/Users/~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Automator.plist
or try in a new user account to see if it has the same problem or if it's something limited to your main account.

Photoshop CS5 HELP- batch processing/ actions

For work i have to put a watermark on 300+ images. Ive created the action to add a watermark. But everytime i try to run the batch it tells me "move is not currently available" "Transform is not currently available" So nothing then happens to the file. Please help. thank you.

With a Path selected in the Paths Panel it can be included into an Action via »Insert Path« from the Actions Panel’s fly-out menu.
You can then use the Path as a Vector Mask for a Solid Color Layer for example.
Transformation should be applicable to that – could you post a screenshot of the Action’s steps?

Batch processing: Action not working - Photoshop CC

I've created an action to apply a watermark. I want to apply this to a folder of jpeg pics.
I've gone to:
File>Automate>batch - see pic below
I ok this.
The batching looks as though it's taking place since I can see it running through the steps of the action. But when finished, nothing has changed.
I've also tried changing the 'Destination' to 'Folder' and using '4 digit serial number + extension' but this doesn't work either.
Many thanks for help in advance.
PS. I've tried using File>Scripts>Image processor and this works. Why this and not Batching?

Your terminology seems to be pretty jumbled.
Please focus one one issue/tool for now and post a screenshot/s with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar …) visible.

Batch Process/Actions Automation with CS3 - Save 2 Files at Once

Trying to figure this out is making my head spin. Say I have three files in a folder called house.tif, apple.tif, and dog.tif. I want to run a batch process on those to save two separate PDF files for each, one high res and one low res, that would ideally stay in the same folder and be named house_lowres.pdf and house_highres.pdf, apple_lowres.pdf and apple_highres.pdf etc.
How can I do that with Actions and Batch Processing without overwriting any files?

Want actions from CS2 action palette in CS5

Hello, I had Photoshop CS2 on my old laptop and created some actions for improving photographs. That computer died but I managed to save the hard drive. On my new laptop I have Photoshop CS5 and I'm desperate to be able to use my old actions. I have the action palette.psp file from my CS2 files - is there a way I can 'put that into' my CS5 folders so I can access the actions? Grateful for any help!

What you could try is to go to the preferences folder...

Rename the actions file, and put the cs2 file in its place, start Photoshop then save the action sets out. Close Photoshop. Remove the CS2 file and rename the actions file back again, start Photoshop and load the actions sets you have just saved.
I don't have CS5 on a Mac but it looks as if the documentation could be wrong as it shows "Actions panel.psp" for the actions file?
Should this be "Action Palette.psp"
Edit: - yes the documentation is incorrect.

Transferring actions from CS2 to CS4

I recently upgraded from Photoshop CS2 to CS4. Can anyone tell me how to transfer the actions I created in CS2 to CS4? I use a mac.

Save them from the flyout menu in the top right corner of the Actions palette in CS2, then load them into CS4.

Batch Photoshop actions?

Is it possible, somehow, to run a batch of images from Aperture with a PhotoShop action? I use this feature a lot in Bridge and hoping something similar is available in Aperture.

If you have the images outside Aperture's Library then would be pretty easy.
You can select the images in Aperture, right click on one and then "show in finder". You can make a Photoshop action as a droplet on the desktop where you can drop the images now selected in the finder.
To finish it you could have the action to save every image to a hot folder that will automaticaly re-import the retouched images back to Aperture.

Batching Photoshop actions.

So I have a number of retouching ansd sharpening actions I use. With Bridge I just use the Automate>Batch commands to mass process in Photoshop. What is the best way to continue using these actions in conjunction with Lightroom? Currently when I export from lightroom I have droplets that i have placed in the Export Actions Folder, but when I select an action and run the Export the file that ends up in the Export folder does not save the changes. I'm a little confused.

Using batch or actions closes CS5

Hi all.
Whenever I try to run an action or use batch I get an error message that Photoshop CS 5 will now close. What if anything can I do? I am running XP. There are actions in the plugins/actions folder. The actions tab contains my actions and the original ones.

It's possible that if you remove the Twain_32 optional plug-in that you have installed you will find that those functions will work.
Yes, I know they seem unrelated, and that you'll be without TWAIN support. Apparently there's a bizarre bug in some TWAIN drivers that breaks the batch/actions processing under some conditions. I remember a lot of posts on this subject a while back.
