Trouble Capturing PLEASE HELP

I have got a new camera that only takes a 6 pin firewire connector. Which meant I needed a 6 to 6 pin firewire to capture to my mac.
When I go into log and capture the time-code is registering but there is no video or audio preview and it wont capture. Can anyone help? I have been able to get visuals on imovie but no audio I'm wondering whether its just a settings issue?

All I know is that it is a 3CCD Sony Camera that takes 184 DV Cam Tapes.
I havnt messed with any settings on the camera itself yet as it has been loaned to me whilst I'm capturing.
But the settings I have on final cut are Firewire PAL and DV PAL which I thought was right. As I said the timecode does register on the preview but there is no audio or visual to be captured.

I've never heard of that brand, but I can tell you that the StarTech HDMI cable works fine on my 50" LG TV. Not all HDMI cables are created equal, and the HDMI spec is a moving target. When I connected mine, the MBP started flashing, looking for displays, and I switched the TV to that HDMI input while the MBP was looking. It sync'd perfectly. I've also got the genuine Apple DVI adapter, and got nothing on the same TV.

Getting trouble updating - please help!

The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect.
The message above appears each time I try to update from the Creative Cloud panel. It starts to update and then fails.
From the Adobe Application Manager I ticked just one update - and that one worked. I can't get the Adobe Application Manager to come back up - how do I open it so that I can tick another individual update?
I've wasted a whole morning trying to fix this... not happy. The whole point of being part of the cloud was to get updated without hassle, this is ridiculous. I've noticed, from reading forums on the web, that loads of people are having the same problem. Please help me to make this update thingy run smoothly.

Just found out you can open the Adobe Application Manager from PS CC prog - just click: help /updates from the top menu. It seems I have to install one update at a time - from the Adobe Application Manager - BUT importantly, first quitting the Creative Cloud panel- as they seem to conflict. Sorry for the tone of the comment above - I didn't realise I was on a community forum, I thought I was asking Adobe directly.

IPOD TOUCH 4G TROUBLE. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I have had my iPod Touch 4g for about 2 years now and recently it will not hold a charge. I let it charge until it is completely full and i then take it off the charger. Within about 10 minutes or so it dies and mind you it just said fully charged. It will be fully charged and then slowly go down and down and then it will just shut off. I take pretty good care of my iPod and I hope this is nothing to serious. I have tried closing all of my apps my double clicking the home button, i have also tried dimming the brightness, changing the charger, and plugging the charger into another apple device to see if it is the charger but, that is not the case. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my iPod.

Well there r certain point u got to notice when creating a table with constraints.
1) U can create table with COLUMN level constraint.
2) U can create table with TABLE level constraint.
3) In COLUMN level constraint u can't give a constraint a name
but only mention the type of constraint.
4) In TABLE level constraint u can give a name to constraint.
Following are the examples of both
--COLUMN LEVEL
CREATE TABLE O_caisses
(No_caisse NUMBER(3) PRIMARY KEY,
NB_BILLETS NUMBER(5));
--TABLE LEVEL

The clue is in the error message: the OUTLN schema is missing.
This is something Oracle 8i introduced to help manage the CBO (or soemthing equally geeky and internal). For some reason your database no longer has this user. It ought to be created automatically during installation (or upgrade) but catproct may not have completed probably or some over zealous admin type has dropped it.
Solution is to re-install (or re-upgrade) as you cannot create this user on their own. Alas.

Problem capturing, please help

Hello, I am trying to capture a 2 hour DV Cam tape to Final Cut. I am using a 4 to 6 pin Firewire cable from the DV Cam deck to my LaCie hard drive. "Capture Now" fails everytime after about 5 seconds and it doesn't give an explanation. I am using the latest FCP and a MacBook Pro 2 GB RAM. Any help would be great, thanks!

Make sure you have the latest Quicktime version 7.1.5 or better. I would try shuting down and disconnecting all firewire devices. Reboot and reset a new project with capture scratch to the internal drive, only plug in the firewire to your camera/deck turn it on, check setting in audio/video to make sure the DV setting are inplace, device control is set to DV and open log and capture. If you don't have luck here them reset device control to non-controlable and see what happens. If you don't need timecode this should work fine but remember to move these files over to the external storage after capture so your main drive doesn't work as hard.

Log in trouble! Please help

Sometimes when I try to log in at the log in screen with my password and picture it sometimes will say "log in fail" and it will start up again like it was when I first put the computer on! And it takes me basically to a 'random' profile that is no ones and is new but still has some of my desktop icons like google chrome. I fixed it last time but i do not know how to this time! Please someone help! By the way I have windows 8 and a Toshiba laptop.

Trouble Charging, PLEASE HELP

Hi,
When I try to charge my phone a message pops up that says, "This accessory may not be supported." It has been happening for a couple days and now it is happening every time I plug it in (it used to only happen on occasion, but today it is happening only a couple of seconds after I plug it in). Does anyone know why this is happening? I have tried multiple outlets and my charger is an Apple product. My phone is getting very close to dying and I don't know what to do. Also, it was doing this before I updated it to 7.0.6

i have the same problem since i updated it to 7.0.6 .
i have i phone 4 .
When i plug my phone in to charge it starts the charge for about 2 seconds and then the message "This accessory may not be supported" appears and the phone stops charging. It does that every time I try to plug my phone up to charge. Once my phone turns competely off it takes 4-10 hours to turn back on and when it does its only has 4% battery.
i can conect to itunes wen have battery but dont charge!
my charger is an Apple product.

Your Student class definition is just fine.
The problem is how you serialize that to/from files.
Since you have non-POD types like std::string as Student data members, you can't just dump your Student internal bytes to disk and read them back to disk.
This won't work, because for example std::string has pointers inside, and the values of those pointers (memory addresses) are meaningless when you write them to file and later load them from file, as just raw bytes, like in this code showed above in
this thread:

while(list.read((char*)&st, sizeof(Student)))
You have to think how to write your Student class to files.
You can use XML, JSON, or even simple comma separated values text files.
Even if you use some custom binary format for your Student instances, you should pay attention to properly write the text stored in your strings to files, and read that back into std::string data members.

Troubles converting - please help

I just got my 30gb iPod video yesterday, and I want to put some movies onto it, but I have no idea how to convert the files. I went to Videora and downloaded something on there, but it didn't work.
Does anyone know where I can get an EASY program to use to convert my movies to whatever iTunes uses?

So I tried to download and install QT 6.5.2 from Apple's site, but it won't install - tells me I have a new version installed or something like that. I'm beginning to lose track now of all the messages.
It would be helpful to know:
1) the format of the source files (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, etc.)
2) what platform you are using (Mac or PC)
Easiest program would likely be iTunes itself. Do the source files open/play in QT/iTunes? If so, are they "muxed?" If not, select the file in the iTunes Library and use the "Advanced > Convert selection for iPod" menu option. Other recommendations would depend on the answers to the above questions

Everytime I go to listen to mmy music and choose a song it goes back to my list of music and won't play the song. My iPod has done this before but turning the iPod off then back on always fixed the problem. Does anyone now what's wrong and how to fix it. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you.

I'd like to clarify the problem. You choose a song from your playlist. but you cannot see the song. But the next time you restart the Touch, the song somehow appears.
Does this happen to all the songs on your playlist, or specific ones? Does it happen repeatedly on the same song(s)? Does this happen before or after syncing?

Should I make an HD DVD or an SD DVD? Please help!

I have footage that I shot in HDV quality (1440x1080i). I have edited them and now have 46 moviefiles of between 2 and 2,5 minutes each. The DVD will be used for mass reproduction, so I need to make sure it is playable by all (including older) DVD players.
Does this mean that I cannot make an HD DVD from it and that I should stick to a SD DVD? Is an HD DVD playable on any player? Or does the high resolution give trouble? Please help!

HD-DVD is a now defunct format, it has been replaced by Blu-ray, which DVDSP cannot author to. So if you're sticking with DVDSP, and you want it universally playable, you'll need to stick with an SD DVD.
