Trouble charging

When I plug the charger to the iPod, the apple logo comes up, then lights up. After a few seconds, the screen shows random lines, goes black and finally the process starts again. This happens over and over. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks.

It sounds like your battery may be done. Do you have a spare battery you can try (or borrow a friend's)?

Mu Ipod touch is about 3.5 years old and just recently I have had trouble charging it it just says charging not suported thats with USB into a PC, on a docing station and in the car. - Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT4061 hi,i,m having trouble charging my iphone 5 can you help me please

hi,i,m having trouble charging my iphone 5.it got down to 17% before i realised it but it would not charge from my wall plug and cable.i,m now using the cable direct from the phone to my pc.i,ve read this is a common fault but i need it fixed can anyone help please

If the iPhone still has Warranty or AppleCare, then it will be covered at Apple. If no coverge, time to buy new charger if you think you need one, as the PC seems to work for you.

  • My iPhone 4 has been having trouble charging.

My iPhone 4 had been having trouble charging for a while so i switched cords thinking that was the problem. That worked for a while then i kept having to switch cords every few days or it wouldnt work. As of last night my phone wont charge with any cord in any computer or in the wall or my car. I got frustrated so i turned it off hoping to preserve what little battery life i had left. When i turned it back on i noticed it had charged! The charge doesnt last as long as it normally did but it still works. When its plugged into the computer and turned on it doesnt recognise that its plugged into anything and doesnt start syncing or charging but if i go into iTunes it recognises the device is connected and i can manually sync my phone as long as it is on. Do i need to replace the charging port? Does the battery also need replaced? Has anyone else had this happen?

Sounds like the iPhone has a hardware problem with the battery, with the charging port, or both.

I'm Having trouble charging my Iphone, do you know of a proper way of cleaning the charging port, or any other ways of fixing the phones charging abilities? 16g IPhone4

Clean charging port with clean dry toothbrush. If something more than dust, dirt, debris is present, clean with toothbrush and a small amount (drop) of Isopropyll Alcohol. The pins are on top of the dock midrib.

  • HELP PLEASE! I am having trouble charging my iPod Mini 4GB

I am having trouble charging my iPod Mini 4GB. I used it for approx 30 minutes until it died, and it will not charge. I have tried charging it through the USB port and also the wall charger - but nothing comes on the screen to say it is in the process of charging and it will not switch on. The trouble shooting section of the manual says there should be a thunder flash icon?? Any ideas please?
Could it be the internal battery at fault? Shall I buy a new one from Maplin?

my iPod mini is doing the same thing. i'll charge it all night through a wall charger (all connections seem to be ok, the charging icon appears on the screen). but i'll take it off and turn it on for not even 5 minutes and it wil turn off! i charged it for about a week once and i took it off the charger for again, 5 minutes, and the thing turned off on me. i've sent my iPod in for service before because it was frozen, but this battery issue hasn't happened to me until recently.
if i send my iPod in for a replacement, what kind will i get back? one of my friends said that if i sent it back in, i would get a 2GB nano. thats not enough!! how do i get more?

  • Trouble charging battery with iTunes 7

Hi, I upgraded a few weeks ago and have had nothing but trouble since. I solved part of the problem (thanks to info I found here) involving error messages and a crashing computer by removing Quick Time and 'fixing' iTunes. Now when I plug in my iPod Mini, it updates but doesn't charge, even though the battery charging icon appears. I can charge my battery on another computer so I know the wire is fine. And I use that USB port for other things so I know the port is alright. Any ideas?

best option is just buy an A/C adapter until Apple comes up with a fix..
Belkin has a made nice one at Best Buy for 32$ - very portable, i might add.
A lot of people are suffering through this charging issue. Best of luck!

  • Having trouble charging the battery

I have a 15 inch Mackbook Pro that I am having trouble getting the battery to charge. I tried resetting the PMU and it still is having problems. I can leave the computer charging all night while it is off and in the morning I'll still only have a 50 percent charge. Do I need a new battery?

as suggested, make sure you try a re-calibration first. If that doesn't work go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
Make sure you install the battery update first and proceed from there.
there are known issues with certain older MBP batteries -AND-, important to note, Applecare and warranty are irrelevant. They will replace the battery if it meets the criteria on the above site.. period.
I just had mine replaced on an over 2 year old MBP 2.0 with no Applecare.
    hope this helps.

  • Since the iOS7 update on my iPad 2, I am having trouble charging it if it runs all the way down, and now, my Safari won't work at all, and it locks up when I click on Safari in the Setting section.  I have tried restoring, and Safari still does not work??

I cannot reset the Ipad either, Safari won't work, and it won't charge properly if the battery runs all the way down...

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

  • Trouble charging ipod on computer

my ipod is hooked up to a my computer and will only charge while the ipod is updating and then it stops charing. i can't seem to figure out how to charge it up on the computer.

It is the config of your USB ports in windows. They are set up to disable power to the USB ports when not in use, and by "use" they mean transferring data, not simply plugged in.
So go into Control Panels, System, Hardware, device manager, then open up the USB selection. You will see USB Root Hubs, open each of those and under the power management tab DISABLE the check box to power down the port when not in use.
See if that gets you going again.

  • Trouble charging a second hand ipod

I recently bought a second hand ipod classic. I've tried to restore the settings and now the ipod is asking to be connected to a power adaptor. It came with ear phones and USB connector cable but no power adaptor. Is there anything i can do? Or do i need to buy a new power adaptor? thanks

Are you sure you have an iPod classic?
When updating or restoring some older iPods via a usb connection, it needs to be plugged into power via the charger to complete the process, and this is why you see this icon displayed.
It's also why older iPods that required this step were supplied with a power adaptor as standard. *However, this does not apply to the iPod classic.*
You may be able to complete the process via a car charger, or via a powered firewire port on the computer (with the required 6 pin cable of course) if you have access to either of those. Or maybe visit an Apple store if one is nearby.
    Or you can try this.
    No power adaptor? Try this.
Other than that, your iPod cannot be used until you complete this process.
