Trouble connecting iPad to Internet

I can connect fine to my wireless network with my iPad, but I can't get out to the internet.  All of my other devices in the house are getting out fine (Mac, iPhones, Windows PCs, Apple TV).  The problem is recent with the iPad (last two weeks).  I've tried forgetting the network, re-establishing the network, resetting the network connection.  Not sure why the iPad is the only device that can't get to the internet.  My ISP is through comcast cable.  What else can I try?

When you input your password, what did you use?  If you haven't yet, provide the encryption code from your router.  The encryption code is usually a 10 - 13 digit code, which is often comprised of letters and numbers.  Try it and let me know if that solves your connection issue.

  • Trouble connecting to the internet...

    Hiya chaps
A query for a friend of mine who was lucky enough to get a black macbook £350 cheaper than retail...
Trouble is, she cannot get it to connect to her internet. I don't really know where to start. But i know that she gets this message
"the selected network uses an access control list to restrict access and this computer is not on the list"
I presume this means that she just has to add her mac to the access list on her main computer.
Just wanted to know of any better ideas. Apologies if this question is slightly vague, but i'm aware that the members of this forum are extremely helpful...
    Thank you
    Nick
    Macbook 13'3" Black   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Indeed, she most probably uses an authorization system for her network, so that she has to add the MAC-address of each computer which is allowed on the network manually.
Of course I don't know how she configured her network (router, other method,...) but I do know that some routers offer this security option; so you have to add the MacBooks MAC-address to the "allowed-list".

  • Connecting Ipad to internet from Macbook Pro

Urgent help needed to connect my iPad to internet.I do not have wifi but have a 3G USB card to access internet from my Macbook Pro.I need to connect my iPad to internet to download stuff. Can someone tell me how to use the Mac's internet sharing to connect the iPad? I tried a few methods listed online but it did not work.I am using Mountain Lion.

Using internet sharing I was able to share the connection & my iPad recognizes it & connects to it. I even see the check mark on the left of the connection name with an i button on the right. However safari is unable to connect to the internet on my iPad. Do I need to do something else like a username password? The http proxy is set to off on the iPad.

I have a 4s from verizon. Husband has a 4. He connects to wireless no problem. I always have trouble and cant get on. Message always says unable to join. What is my problem, faulty phone?

    Hi Hogdays,
I know how frustrating it is not to be able to connect to the internet.
Below are the troubleshooting steps to try to figure out why:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
I would follow the steps in order, but this section is specific to your error message:
If you're unable to join a nearby Wi-Fi network
Try restarting your Wi-Fi router by turning it off and then on again.
Note: If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
When joining an 802.11n Wi-Fi network, ensure that your router is properly configured. See this article for more information.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Hope this helps ....

  • Trouble connecting WRT300N to internet

Been at it for a few hours, just got this router and I'm having a field day with it. Everything is plugged in right, but whenever I try to get an IP address or connect to the internet through the setup, it won't recognize that it's connected to the internet. Plugged in my BEFSR41 wired router and it works just fine. So I don't get what's going on.

Connected the Modem to WRT300N using Ethernet cable at the Internet port of router.
Connect another cable from either 1-4 ports from back of router to the computer.
Open routers set up page using http://192.168.1.1 …..You will get username & password ….leave username blank & in password use admin.
    Try to configure the router.

  • Trouble connecting ipad to hotspot

We have been using an iphone 4 as a hotspot for our laptop when we're away from home with no problem.   We tried to connect an ipad and had no luck.  The iphone showed up as an available network, but when we tapped to seclect it, the little circle just kept spinning and the password blank never showed up.  We checked settings, turned both devices off and on, allowed it plenty of time but still nothing.  We tried about 10 times in different places in the room and made sure the signal was good.  The iphone shows '1 connection' while all this is going on even though the ipad has not completed the connection.  Any ideas?

  • Having trouble connecting to the internet

Hi everybody for the last month or so my internet connection has been disconnecting from the internet. I’ll open Safari then a error message appears telling me that I am not connected to the internet. All 3 lights on my modem are green indicating that the Modem (2wire home portal) is working. I opened ND to try to fix the problem the status settings indicate that ISP failed, and server failed. I called Apple technical support for help but they blamed the modem for causing this to happen. I went out and bought another modem hoping that a new modem would fix the problem, but it did not, Same error message “ you are not connected to the internet.” I called my ISP about 10 times there are no server outages in my area. I ran numerous hardware test to see if the hardware was corrupted, all test came back negative.
I am using a 2wire home portal (Non wireless) I have a Intel i mac core duo maxed out. I have no software installed on this computer ( other then the software that shipped with the i mac. I never download anything off the internet (Not even a widget) I don’t what else to do... I don’t want to take the computer to a Apple store because I’m most cretin that nothing is wrong with the computer plus the nearest Apple store is almost 200 mile away from where I live.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.
I Mac Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

This is frequently solved in the Network section of System Preferences. Assuming your "Location:" reads "Automatic" then verify your Network Port Configurations. I don't have a cable modem setup, but imagine "Built-in Ethernet" is what you're using, and if so, that should be primary. Be sure to "Apply Now" once a new setting is selected.
If you recall set-up, did your iMac discover the connection immediately, or was it necessary to add information to the Ethernet panel? Since your network was functioning before the iMac set-up, the iMac should have discovered it on its own and you should not have had to enter any info.
If that was not what happened, I'd scrap the Network settings, return all to defaults, and start over with the iMac discovering the connection on its own.
    Edit-
One other thing that might be different from your PC's, check the Energy Saver's Sleep panel to see that you have unchecked the "Put the hard disk to sleep when possible" and see if that helps at all.
