Trouble connecting laptop to wireless

I have a wag54gs installed and a wireless adaptor on main pc. Had trouble with security and could only use laptop wireless with security dissabled.  Ive had some help regarding security its all set up again and wireless is working on main pc.  Laptop however wont connect now on wireless, says aquiring address or limited /no connectivity but works fine if i attach the ethernet cable and use security.  Tried checking setting are the same but must be missing something., probably something simple.  Any help would be appreciate.

OPEN YOUR VIEW WIRELESS NETWORKS , YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR WIRELESS CONNECTION DISCONNECT IT AND RECONNECT!  YOUR ROUTER MIGHT BE WEP ENCYPTED SO YOU WILL NEED YOUR KEY1  THAT YOU CAN FIND ON THE ROUTER INFO, BY TYPING :  192.168.1.1 ON YOUR INTERNET WEB BROWSER!

    I am having trouble connecting to my wireless internet and am getting the message that my network configuration settings have changed. I have reported it to my provider who advised that they think the Mac is looking for a fixed IP address and they use dynamic addresses. I have had the Mac for months and have not had this problem before. I would appreciate any help please on how to fix this ?

    Then I get a separate pop up that says: Secure Connection Failed. aus3.mozilla:443 uses an invalid security certificate.
    The certificate is only valid for the following names: securelogin.arubanetworks.com, www.securelogin.arubanetworks.com
    (Error code: ssl_error_cert_domain)
    This could be a problem with the server's configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
    If you have connected to this server successfully in the past the error may be temporary and you can try again later.
    I have tried many many times!

  • Trouble connecting to my wireless internet

    Hello,
    I'm having trouble connecting to my wireless internet. We have a linksys wireless router, and I know the MAC filter is turned on, so I've added my computer to the router, and I've put the password in correctly, but it keeps saying there is an error connecting to the network. All my other roommates have PC's, this shouldn't be a problem? My Mac should have no problem connecting to this modem, right?
    Thanks

    Hello jennhie,
    You can download the firmware at your router manufacturer's homepage. Look for download>firmware
    If you are not familiar with the process, download the manual as well. It will be very helpful in the update process.
    Hope this will help
    Good luck

  • Does anyone have trouble connecting to their wireless network, after being logged on for some time? Mountain Lion.

    I am having trouble connecting to my wireless network.  It works when I startup my computer but, after a while it can't seem to find the wireless network. I have an Airport Extreme and the light is green. The only way to remedy this problem is to restart my computer. Mountain Lion isn't that great after all not to mention it distorts some images when scrolling. I am kindly asking for some advice, I assume a major update will be coming soon.

    You don't by chance have a "invisible" or "hidden" network enabled on the router?
    Because Mac's won't reconnect automatically now to hidden network only upon reboots, it's sort of like advertising the hidden network if you take the computer elsewhere.
    Also hidden networks are no deterrent to hackers, they see all.
    Also check your time and date, make sure they accurate first, then save that, then make sure it's updated via Apple time servers in your general location (System Preferences > Time and Date) If your being kicked off, your DCHP lease might be expiring too early.

  • Problem connecting laptop to wireless network

    Greetings.
    I recently installed ArchLinux on my asus N80Vb laptop.  I downloaded the .iso for the core installation and burn a CD which I used to install.  Checksums were a match.  I followed instructions on the installation guide and everything seems to have been a success.  I installed all packages which seemed to have anything to
    do with wireless networking.
    The only problem is that I am having difficulty getting my laptop to connect to the wireless network in the house.
    The network wireless interface in the laptop is an Intel WiFi Link 5100.  I am assuming the driver is loading properly: output from dmesg | tail is:
    iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Unable to find TIM Element in beacon
    wlan0: Selected IBSS BSSID 2e:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx based on configured SSID
    iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Unable to find TIM Element in beacon
    (the x's in the second line are because I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to post the actual numbers).
    I followed the manual wireless setup process <a href="https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless_Setup#Part_II:_Wireless_management">here</a> to try to establish a connection and couldn't connect: trying to ping www.google.com gave an unknown host error.
    I have netcfg and created a configuration file with the following:
    CONNECTION='wireless'
    DESCRIPTION='wireless internet connection
    INTERFACE='wlan0'
    SCAN='yes'
    SECURITY='none'
    ESSID='mynetwork'
    IP='dhcp'
    CHANNEL='6'
    When trying to use netcfg I get "Wireless network "mynetwork" not present.   [FAIL]
    Using iwlist doesn't show <i>mynetwork</i> either, but I know its there because all the PCs, a wii and another laptop are all connected to it without any problems.
    (I added CHANNEL='6' because my PC running Fedora shows that it is connected to mynetwork on channel 6, so I thought maybe...).
    Connecting via a wired connection is also a possibility but would prefer not to.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Topaz

  • Trouble connecting multiple computers wirelessly

    I have an airport extreme base station and I am having trouble connecting more than one computer wirelessly to the internet. In fact if I do get the other computer connected, it crashes the connection of my main computer that is always connected. Any help? Am I explaining this clearly enough?

    Can you tell us what happens if you turn wireless off on the computers and temporarily connect both of them to the AirPort Extreme using ethernet? Same problem?

  • WRT160Nv3 trouble connecting laptop using Vodafone secure remote acces

    I have a WRT160Nv3 router installed at home. My home laptops, gameconsoles and iPhone could be connected thru Cicso Network Magic. To get my netgear WGPS606 printerserver connected, I had to disable my windows firewall, connect it with CNM and enable my firewall. This works fine now.
    Yesterday I got a laptop from my boss. This laptop has Vodafone Secure Remote Access installed in order to connect to (home) networks or with a HSDPA-card. On my homenetwork I can't get a proper connection thru VSRA, Network Magic doesn't see the laptop as a new device so it can't regocnize the mac-adres. I can connect with the windows tool but then my connection is not secured and I can not use my laptop on the company network. I've tried disabling my firewall (as I did connecting the printerserver) but this didn't work.
    Anybody any suggestions?

    If your Wireless Network is Secured or its an Unsecured Wireless Network ? If you are able to connect to your Wireless Network using Windows Utility then its not the problem with the router. If your Computer has any other wireless Utility and if you are trying to connect to your wireless network using that Utility are you getting any error message while connecting to your wireless network?
    While using VSRA  on your computer are you getting any error message?
    If you need to know the MAC Address of your Computer then on your computer click on Start - RUN - CMD and click Ok... In the Command Prompt window type "ipconfig /all" and hit enter and under "Wireless Network Connections" you will find the MAC address of your Wireless Network Adapter.
    So if you have enable the Wireless MAC Filter on your Router then you can Input that MAC on your Router and click on Save Settings.

  • Connecting laptops to wireless APs using RADIUS 802.1x and certificates set-up questions

    I am working at a small school with 25 laptops for a mobile cart. We upgraded to new dual radio APs and I want to set up the laptops to connect to the APs and validate user credentials at logon. The person before me made a generic username "Student"
    on each laptop locally so they could start the laptop and then connect to the wireless with a password. This is less than ideal for many reasons.
    I have configured NPS on the server and on the AP. When I login locally and then select the AP I am prompted for credentials and can log in. On NPS's eventlog I can see it granting full access. At that point I do not have internet access which is going to
    be a vendor call. I can ping 8.8.8.8 successfully but not the local.domain.org address, nor the server ip 192.168.25.5 which is also the DNS Server. I am thinking that there is a NAT issue there.
    When I try to login to the laptops with my AD credentials it is not connected to the AP yet and tells me there is no logon server available.
    Is that where the certificates should be used at computer/machine level?
    I want to get this setup correctly so anyone who has done this and has some advice for best practice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
    According your description, we can ping 8.8.8.8 successfully. It means that we have connected to the network.
    Due to we can't resolve the domain name, it should be a DNS issue. As you have mentioned, the DNS server is unavailable. Please check if there is something wrong with the DNS server.
    If we want client to connect to AP before implement AD authentication, we need to enable single sign on. For detailed information, please refer to the link below,

  • 3510 all in one having trouble connecting to new wireless network

    Ok - just to update, at least the drivers are downloadable now ... I'll see if that resolves my issue.

    Hi guys.  I just switched to a new modem through my ISP (Rogers) that has a built in router and a much faster connection.  (Previously, this 3510 printer was working just fine over my network with a modem and a router that was separate.)  My computer is hooked into the internet via a direct cable and everyone else in the household connects via wireless, which has been set up and works well.  For some reason though, my 3510 refuses to play nice with the modem and connect to the network.   I've tried plugging it in via usb cable, then going into the settings and clicking on the "convert a usb connected printer to wireless" option.  I hit "yes, access the computer or router", then next, it finds my wireless network with no trouble and I type in the required password and "next" - it then takes a while to go through it's "setting up printer on network" .... and then after a while, I get a "MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router" error.  There IS no MAC filtering.  I have "allow all" set on the router.  This shouldn't be an issue.   Has anyone else had this problem?  Is it just a thing with the newer modem/router combos and these older HP printers?  I tried to update the driver, but your website doesn't seem to be letting folks do that at the moment (some error you're fixing, it says?). If you have any suggestions on how I could get past this problem, I'd really appreciate it.  It's driving me NUTS.  Thanks!  All the best, -- Jodi

  • Trouble connecting to home wireless router

    I'm using a Belkin wireless router with security mode of WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK).
    My iPod touch 2G used to be able to connect to the wireless network, but it can't now. It gives me incorrect password message. Only thing I've done is update the software to 3.0.

    thank you SOOO much!!! I had been struggling for a couple of hours and this solved it all in under five minutes. it seems to be when you change from WEP (my old router) to WPA2 (new router) and not just 3.0. I have a Touch with 2.0 and it was the same story. thanks again!

  • Trouble connecting C4795 printer wirelessly

    Ok, so here it what I have:
    Photosmart C4795 printer
    Mac Mini w/ OS X 10.9.5
    Cisco DPC3825 router
    I have tried everything under the sun to connect this printer wirelessly to my computer to no avail.  I have searched the internet high and low for a solution, but have found nothing.  Please help me with this issue.

    Hello @Greentarpon,
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
    I understand that you are experiencing issues when trying to configure your HP Photosmart C4795 All-in-One Printer for wireless printing with your Mac OS X 10.9.5 computer. I would like to work with you today with resolving this network connectivity issue. Now, just so you are aware, HP actually doesn't have a downloadable Full Feature Software and Driver package available for your model of printer on the Mac OS X 10.9 Operating System due to the age of your printer. Therefore, we will be relying on your Apple Updates to load all the software and drivers onto your Mac computer for you printer. Also, because there is no HP downloadable Full Feature Software and Drivers there is no wireless setup for your Mac computer. Therefore, you have two options:
    Option 1: Use a supported Operating System to configure the wireless on your printer. Once the wireless is configured on your printer than you simply add (+) your wireless bonjour printer into your Mac OS X 10.9 computer.
    Supported Operating Systems include:
    Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.5, Mac OS X 10.6, and Mac OS X 10.7
    Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1
    Option 2: Run the Push Button or Pin methods of configuring wireless. These options will only work if your router has this capability.
    How to Configure Wireless with Push Button Method:
    1. On the control panel Home screen, touch the button next to Scan.
    2. Touch the button next to Wireless Menu
    3. Touch the button next to WPS.
    4. Touch the button next to Push Button. The printer begins a timer that lasts approximately two minutes to allow time to press the WPS button on the router.
    5. Press the WPS button on the router. The printer connects to the network.
    6. Touch OK on the printer control panel.
    How to Configure Wireless with Pin Method:
    1. On the control panel Home screen, touch the button next to Scan.
    2. Touch the button next to Wireless Menu.
    3. Touch the button next to WPS.
    4. Touch the button next to PIN. The PIN displays on the control panel. The printer begins a timer that lasts approximately two minutes to allow time to enter the WPS PIN.
    5. Enter the PIN on the router.
    6. Touch Start. The printer displays a PIN.
    7. Touch OK on the printer control panel.
    Once the printer and router are connected, by either the Push Button or Pin Methods, than you simply add (+) your wireless bonjour printer into your Mac.
    How to Install the software
    Click the Apple menu (), and then click System Preferences. The System Preferences window opens.
    Click Print & Scan. The Print & Scan window opens.
    Click the plus sign (). The name of your printer displays.
    Click Add Printer or Scanner.
    Select your printer, and then click Add.
    Click Install, and then click Agree on the software license agreement window to install the software and add the printer to the queue.
    After the installation process completes, verify that your printer displays in the queue.

    Please let me know if the steps I've provided resolve your connectivity issues. Should you prefer to run through Method 1 on a supported Operating System, please let me know what Operating System you have on the supported computer  (What's my OS?) and I will provide you with detailed wifi configuration instructions. Good luck!

  • Unable to connect laptop to wireless network

    My MacBook Pro will not connect to my wireless network, but my iPad does so I know it must be a problem with my computer rather than the network. Any suggestions?
    I'm not sure if there is some obscure setting that I need to change.

    Give us more information, please.
    Is your wireless network supplied by your ISP, your landlord, your own router, or something else?
    What can you tell us about the settings on your wireless network? (Not the passwords.)
    Did this ever work, or is this the first time you have tried to connect the MBP to this wireless network?
    What model/year MBP is this? It has to be somewhat old if it is running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) as per your profile.

  • Having trouble connecting to my wireless network

    Hi everyone, my iPad gen 3 can not connect to my wireless network. I have to unplug my router, and repower for it to connect. Even going into settings on the iPad, and putting in the password for the wireless connection, the iPad gives me an error message that the password is incorrect. I was thinking of updating to a new router. My current router is about 3 years old. I am also running Network Magic from Cisco. Can anyone give me any ideas for a solution to this problem? As always, thank you for your help.
