Trouble connecting my iphone to my home wifi

I have just recently bought an iphone 4, however it wont connect to my home wifi. when i select my bt-homehub from the networks the circle just keeps spinning as if its loading, everything else like laptops etc are connected to the wifi so it cant be my hub, and when i go to a friends house and to the phones4u shop my iphone connects to their wifi and has a tick beside it so i know its connected and has the wifi signal in the top left hand corner whereas when im home my iphone has an E in the top left corner, My mum is able to go on wifi using her samsung phone. ive tried resetting everything and turning my iphone on and off and ive called my internet provider and they say everythings fine with the wifi hub.   If anyone knows please let me know
Thanks!

Turn off your router for about 15 seconds to reboot it. If this does not resolve the problem update the router firmware to the latest version.

Hi i cant access to my house wifi but to all the others wifiS I can connect. I have restarted my iPhone and my home wifi. What should I do?

What make, model, and version WiFi router do you have?
Is the router firmware up to date?
What type of security is it running? WEP, WPA, WPA2 (WPA2 is recommended, WEP is completely insecure)
Do you have MAC address filtering turned ON? If so, have you added your iPhone MAC address to the permitted list in your router?

I can't connect my Ipad2 to my home wifi it says "unable to join rge network" eventhought my Iphone and MacBook are connected!!!

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • How to connect my iphone to imac on wifi

    Hi
I want to connect my iphone to imac on wifi. Actually i want to use internet on my iphone. So how can i do this ?

If you have a wifi router you can set up/turn on the wifi... set the user name and password wifi in your router... open wifi in general settings on the iPhone... log into your router, user name and password. (If your don't know how to turn on the router wifi. Google the router make and model and you will find instructions on how to do this.)
If you don't have a wifi router and your Mac has wifi capabilities you can hookup to the internet over wifi from your Mac to your iPhone.
System Preferences on the Mac... Network... Wifi... Advanced tab... Hit the '+' to add a user name and password...
Make sure you use WPA2 Personal for Security... Hit ok... Turn on the wifi... Same as above with the iPhone, log into your wifi settings on the iPhone.
*Important point... Use WPA2 for the encryption/Security setting. If you use anything else for this setting, your wifi can be hacked.

  • I'm having trouble connecting my iphone to my itunes on my computer

So for christmas I got an iPhone and currently, I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone to my iTunes on my computer. If I get on my computer and open my iTunes, I can use it perfectly fine but once I tried to connect my phone to it, it told me the software needed to be updated before it would work with my phone. I went to the website and tried downloading the updated version 10 times but every time it told me it couldn't connect with an apple device or something. So then I tried just going to my downloads and stuff and moving the actual song straight to my phone but it would always tell me my device has ended or has been disconnected. All I'm trying to do is move some songs onto my phone from my computer. They weren't purchased straight from iTunes so it's not showung up in my "purchased" on my phone. (I think I got them from amazon and some are cds that I my computer that I got years ago. Maybe thats why they don't show up in the purchased?) Anyway, how can I fix this? I have a windows computer if that can help at all. Thanks!!!

Also, I just opened my iTunes on my computer then plugged my phone to the computer and a box popped up saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started"
I have no idea what that means.
I don't have that option on the side that says what device is connected so I can't sync or anything.

    - Reset the iPod. nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

  • HT4356 Can I use a 'pc' network printer connected via ethernet to the home wifi network ?

Can I use a 'pc' network printer connected via ethernet to the home wifi network ?
or must the printer I want to use also have a wifi connection ?
I have a home network using ethernet connected devices to a router, also attached to th erouter is a WiFi unit. We are using the WiFi unit to connect to the network and hence to the big wide WWW.  We now want to print from our IPads pereferable to our netowk connected HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a series. (not the wireless model).
I was using the HP ePrint app to print from the Ipad, but I do not fully understand how this works. It seems that you must use the app to do the printing which is fine for basic email and photos, but I can not access the drawing package I have, and want to print from it. Please what is it that I do not understand.

You must use an airprint printer directly connected to wifi through it's own wifi card.

  • TS1398 i'm having a problem connecting my iphone 5 to a wifi.

    Hi,
I am having a problem connecting my Iphone 5 to any wifi.
i have 2 iphone 5 and compared them, my white iphone 5 can detect a lot of wifi signals yet my black iphone 5 cannot detect even 1.
i can only connect to a wifi if i am REALLY near / beside the router and cannot exceed 2 meters away from the router. if i will exceed, i will loose connection.
Can you help me with this problem?

siri is disabled, my iPhone is acting really weird, i think its something in this new update. since i updated is been acting like this..

  • My iphone 4S is not able to connect to my home wifi network although it easily connects to others. Infact, i have tried connecting another iphone with my home network without any difficulty. So its just my new iphone 4S that is not connecting.

My iphone 4S is not able to connect to my home wifi network (BSNL). It does detect it and even tries to connect to it but in vain. However, it connects to all other available networks easily. Another interesting thing is that all other devices including an iphone 4 easily connects to this home network. So what is the problem with iphone 4S???

There are two ends to a wireless network. Try rebooting your router. Just pull the power for a few seconds and replug. No settings are lost.
(The fact that all your other devices connect to the internet is irrelevant)

  • Can't connect Iphone 4 to Home WIFI

I have tried just about everything to connect my Iphone 4 to my home WIFI. Short of getting a new router I have a Linksys Wireless G Router WRT54G. My security is a WPA security. Apple Expert at the Apple store told me to set up WPA2 but that is not compatible according to Linksys. We removed all security and still could not connect. My laptops work fine. My TIVO works fine. I am able to connect to other WIFIS like a neighbors whose is not secure and the WIFI at the Apple Store. Is there some type of setting in my router we are not setting correctly? Kind of frustrated and don't want to purchase a new router if we don't have to. Any help is appreciated.

Having a similar problem. My Linksys is a WRT54G2 v1.5. And it has worked fine in the past. But lately (I can't say exactly when it changed) my wi-fi connection on my iPhoene is terrible. The SPeedtest.net app consistantly gives me a ping in the 200 range, dowload speeds around 0.2 and upload speeds of 0.0 while I'm standing right next to it. All other devices and laptops connect fine and test at much higher speeds, and my phone connects fine everywhere else. Multiple resets of the router, the DSL modem and my iPhone have made no difference, nor has resetting all network settings on my iPhone. In fact I just did a complete restore to my iPhone 2 days ago, and the issue is unchanged.
    And advise would be appreciated.

  • Can not connect iphone 3g to home wifi

My iphone won't connect to home wifi. Does not even show it as finding it. However, my other iphones connect just fine.

Does the iPhone connect to other wifi networks?
If yes, then I would suggest that you turn off your wireless router for 10+ seconds. Power it back on and see if the iPhone 3G works to connect to the network
If no, then you could have some faulty hardware in the iPhone. Try to turn the iPhone off, and then on again as well as the wifi setting on the iPhone. If it still doesn't work then try to reset first, followed by a restore from a backup, and then restore the iPhone as set up as a new iPhone. If after all that it still doesn't work then it probably is a hardware issue

  • TS1398 I am unable to connect iPhones to our home wifi. Other devices work fine.

Recently, I was having issues with our D-Link Dir-665. I did a factory reset to it on the routers settings (ie. 192.168.0.1). I was able to succsessfully connect my laptop, as well as our Kindle Fire HD. However, when trying to connect our iPhones (4 & 4s), it does not even see the SSID. So, we tried setting it up under "other network" and it says "Could not find network". After searching some other forums we also ended up reseting the network settings, hard resets and syncing the devices as well. All to no avail. . The router gives the option to add the device but requires a PIN from the devices (not really sure if this will even help)...
When I reset the router I am sure it probably reset things like the WPA and channels etc. I am pretty lost at this point. Help
    Thanks

I was able to do a full reset on the router (pushing the tiny button near the power input). Then ran through the setup process and it started working on my device.

  • Cannot connect to youtube on my home wifi

I have no trouble connecting on other WiFi networks and on 3g.  In fact if I am watcvhing a video on 3g and then connect to the home WiFi, it will continue playing.  I cannot find any security or firewall settings that could be blocking it and it is very frustrating.....My ISP just swapped out my wireless router and I have tried all of the varous encryption protocols (WEP, WPA. WPA2, etc) and that has not fixed it.  It is a Gigaset SX762 WLAN dsl router.  Any help would be gratly appreciated.

Contact your ISP. There's some setting on that new router that is blocking YouTube. I'm not familiar with that router so I can't offer instructions for removing the block.

  • TS1398 I can't connect my iPhone 5 to my WIFI.

I bought my iPhone 5 32Gb from the Apple Store in Hong Kong and had it shipped to the Philippines where I currently reside. I've read some issues regarding the iPhone 5 not being able to connect to the internet and having a very weak wifi range. I've dealt with the weak wifi range already but my problem now is:
I accidentally pressed "Forget Network" (home wifi) at home and now I can't seem to connect again. My MacBook Pro, iPad and Samsung S3 have absolutely no problem with connecting to the internet and it's just my iPhone 5 with the issues.
I've tried Resetting everything but still cannot connect to my Wifi. It just keeps on saying "Incorrect Password" though I'm 100% sure that it is since all my other devices are working perfectly.
    Please help me.
    Thank you in advance guys!

    Reset network settings.
    Settings,reset,reset network settings.
    Restart the device.
Hold power until slide to power off comes up. Slide it. Wait. Then turn it on again.

  • Connection help please with my home wifi

    Hello
Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and  I get the message
"unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
Is it possible to get another browser to use.
I would be most grateful for your help.
    Many thanks
    All the best
    Michael
