Trouble connecting to PC/iTunes

During recent upgrade to iOS 5 smth went horribly wrong, and my iPad 2 went dead and blank. I couldn’t restore it through iTunes on my PC, as for some reason my PC and iPad 2 don’t get along well (I keep getting an ‘unknown error’ or no reaction to my iPad). I had to take the iPad to a nearby Apple store to get it restored. It got restored alright, but to a ‘new iPad’ state without recovering any music and films I had. All that I still have in iTunes on my PC, but I can’t get connected to it with my iPad 2... So a bit of a vicious circle. I wonder if there is a way of transferring all the content I need back to iPad via Wi-Fi. Please advise. Any other good ideas would also be greatly appreciated.

    You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
    Your router may not have given your iPhone a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
    Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
    If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • TS1368 For the last three days I have had trouble connecting to the iTunes Store. The blue icon pops up and it is impossible to download newsstand or indeed any purchased apps. When signing in, the same icon pops up so it is impossible to do anything.

    Why is connection to iTunes stores so temperamental? For the past 3 days I have been unable to download my newspaper subscription or use my iTunes account as the blue icon pops up and says there is no access and one just has to press OK. I took the iPad to an Apple Service
    Shop and the assistant deleted my newsstand and reinstalled it which helped until the next day when exactly the same thing happened. I tried to do the same and eventually got back into the store after several hours trying. The same has happened today and it is getting tedious. I have used the iPad without trouble for three months but now this happens every day. The wireless connection is fine but if I close the device and come back later iTunes is unavailable.     I do have another problem, this time with the serial number and I think I
    may have to call Adobe on this one.
    I purchased this license from someone on eBay.  He assured me the license
    number was good.  The CD came in a case with the original serial number
    printed on the cover.  When I installed CS5 on my other computer, I was
    having similar troubles and spoke to one of the support people.  He gave me
    another license number that worked.  I have since uninstalled CS5 and did
    not deactivate the license.  Perhaps that is the problem.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

  • I'm having trouble connecting my iphone to my itunes on my computer

    So for christmas I got an iPhone and currently, I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone to my iTunes on my computer. If I get on my computer and open my iTunes, I can use it perfectly fine but once I tried to connect my phone to it, it told me the software needed to be updated before it would work with my phone. I went to the website and tried downloading the updated version 10 times but every time it told me it couldn't connect with an apple device or something. So then I tried just going to my downloads and stuff and moving the actual song straight to my phone but it would always tell me my device has ended or has been disconnected. All I'm trying to do is move some songs onto my phone from my computer. They weren't purchased straight from iTunes so it's not showung up in my "purchased" on my phone. (I think I got them from amazon and some are cds that I my computer that I got years ago. Maybe thats why they don't show up in the purchased?) Anyway, how can I fix this? I have a windows computer if that can help at all. Thanks!!!

    Also, I just opened my iTunes on my computer then plugged my phone to the computer and a box popped up saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started"
    I have no idea what that means.
    I don't have that option on the side that says what device is connected so I can't sync or anything.

    If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

    thank you for the response...i was starting to think i wasnt going to get help... i have had comcast for about a year and a half (hate the service) and itunes worked before...i did try powercycling the modem a few times... unplugged everything... went to work came back and plugged it all back in... nothing!!! i am using a router but have direct connected to the cable box before and still had problems... can you think of anything else?

  • Having trouble connecting my ipod to iTunes and mac

    Today my ipod decided to stop working altogether and not play anything. Literally, I was listening to a song and the next song never played. Couldn't figure out why, so I came on here and tried the 5 R's.
    I want to restore my ipod (because obviously nothing else I did, worked), but I can't even connect it to my MacBook Pro, let alone, see it in itunes. I just want to see of restoring it might actually fix it before I do anything involving the apple store.
    There's all sorts of threads about having troubles connecting ipods to PC's, but nothing I could find about connecting them to Macs.
    I know for sure the USB wire is fine. I downloaded the new version of itunes and blah blah blah...it's definitely all the ipod, but I can't seem to come up with any other solution than to go to an apple store.
    I only bought this within the last year and just recently started using it on a regular basis.
    If anyone would like to shed some light on what might've happened, please let me know! I'd be so grateful! Thanks!

    If that works, connect it to the Mac. See if it is now recognized by the Mac and iTunes. If it is, use Restore to erase the iPod and initialize its software.
