Trouble connecting tv and oppo dvd wifi dongles  to tc

How do I enable TC to accept Panny plasma and oppo dvd player.tv says router not accepting but does recognize my network.

Take off all security on the TC, and connect just as standard client. If that works, increase the security to WPA and see if it still works. Use passkey of around 12 characters, alphanumeric only.
If you still have issues, change the wireless to manual and set to channel 1, 6 or 11 in turn and see if one is better than the other.. Make sure you allow G wireless to connect.

    - Did it successfully connect to the network before?
    - Do other devices successfully connect to the network now?
    - Does you iPod successfully connect to other networks?
    - Have you reset your iPod?
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset network connections: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Powered off and then back on your router

-When you restored you iPod did you restore to factory defaults/new iPod?  If not try that.
    - If you look at the network properties on the iPod what IP address is assigned when you think you are connected but actually have no internet connection.  If it starts with 169 then the iPod never connected to the router, the 169 address are self assigned.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Trouble Connecting iPad and iPhone to Exchange Server 2010

    Exchange Server 2010.
I have found some online instructions for connecting iPhones and iPods (or iPads) to Exchange Server 2010 using activesync.  I enter all the information as I understand it (the same info used to successful connect Droids), and I do not get an error
until I try to sync (retrieve mail) the first time.  Then it says, "The connection to the server failed."
In the instructions I follwed it has this statement, "Before we get started, please be sure your administartor has purchased you an Activesync license and assigned to
your email address."  What the heck does this mean and how can I accomplish it?  I know activesync is working.  So why do I need a "license"?

  • Trouble connecting to and from my work computer & home computer

When I first bought my iPod Touch, I could easily not only connect it and sync/load songs etc. from my home computer, I noticed and real good feature in that I could connect it to my work MAC as well. I have an iPhone now and i noticed you can't do this. It asks you to sync the iPhone and all data will be lost if I choose to do so. When I connect it to my work computer all the fields are grayed out. This ***** if I can't go to and from from home t work with my new iPhone when I could so easily with my iPod Touch. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated.

Some info and a bit of detail about your network set up would be helpful. How are you connected to the internet? Cable modem? DSL? Is there a router involved? Are you connected via ethernet or airport?

Without a little more information as to what you may have already tried it is a little difficult to point you in the right direction. Try rebooting your router - unplug it from the power source and then plug it in again. If that doesn't do it, start with these help articles or post back with more specific information - details - what you have tried .....

  • Trouble connecting to home router over wifi

Just yesterday I started having problems connecting to the wifi signal in my home. I am able to connect just fine to any other wifi signal. The problem is that I'm able to connect, but cannot transmit data for more than a few minutes at a time, it just stops working. Last night I was able to get it working for about 2 hours then when I woke up this morning it was back to not working. All the other computers in the house are having no problems at all, mine is the only mac in the house. We have a linksys wrt54gs router. I'm not sure whats going on. I've tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC settings to no avail. I've also noticed that when connected to my home network, another category shows up in the drop down when you click on the wifi in the menu bar. It says Devices, and it's got my network there with a check mark. I have never noticed this before, and cannot find any information about it anywhere.

There are lots of people with WiFi routers and other devices using the same bandwidths these days. It's possible that a neighbor just bought one and it is configured to use the same channel yours is on.
You might try downloading AirRadar (free trial from Koingo software --> http://www.koingosw.com) and see how many networks are in your area and what channels they are using. It also displays signal strength and 'noise' levels and a history graph.
My MacBook regularly dropped the connection to my old inexpensive 'b/g' router, regardless of which wireless channel I selected (it was all manual configuration). My new 'draft-n' router has the built-in 'quality of service' diagnostics, and can switch channels and adjust signal strength as needed.
It's 'normal' for the wireless network you're attached to to be displayed with a checkmark on the Airport dropdown menu.
If you press Option and click on the Airport icon, you'll get a bit more information about your wireless connection, including what channel you're currently using and the speed of the connection.

  • I'm having trouble connecting to my school's wifi using my MacBook Pro!

My school has a wi-fi network allowing students to connect all over campus. I am able to connect mostly everywhere accept for the library, which is where I would like to access internet. Everyone around me is able to connect, but I continue to have issues. What normally should happen once connected is a screen will pop up prompting you to enter your school I.D # and password. When I attempt to connect, a screen will pop up saying something like "connection time out!" I've tried almost everything, even asked the IT department who obviously weren't able to help me. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

i think you should try resetting and reconfiguring the router...
try the following wireless settings :
    ssid  : any non-linksys name
    channel : either 1 or 11
    beacon interval : 50
    Fragmentation threshold  : 2306
    RTS threshold : 2307

  • Trouble connecting iPod and Wii

I purchased the Linksys Range Plus Wireless Router WRT110  so I could connect my iPod and Wii to the internet. I had it all set up and I was able to use the internet both on the iPod and the Wii. Someone was stealing my internet so I put the security back on and now, my iPod detects my connection and shows the lock but it says "unable to connect to network".  The Wii detects the connection but fails and says "Error Code:  51330  Unable to connect to the Internet.  Choose Internet settings and then confirm your connection.  Visit support.nintendo.com for assistance". I have fiddled with both of them numerous times but I haven't had any luck getting back on the internet on the Ipod or my Wii. Anyone have any idea how to help me? When I open easy advisor it says the router and internet are working fine.

Make sure you enable WEP security on your router as your IPod or Wii may not accept WPA/WPA2 security...If you enable WEP Security make sure that you enter a dollar sign($) when you attempt to connect on your IPod...For Wii you don't need the dollar sign, just enter the key...

  • New iPad having trouble connecting to Internet via Wifi.

I have had all 3 iPads and I got the new one on Friday, however starting today I have had a lot of trouble connecting to the Internet via Wifi. Then you may have a defective iPad  If you can show it to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a replacement if the Genius can not fix it.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>

  • Tiger cripples Safari and Mail for WiFi

I was at a Panera Bread store attempting to connect to their free WiFi access. While my airport showed a connection at full power and all airport diagnostics reported the airport connection to PANERA working fine, Safari and Mail would NOT WORK. Blank screens under Safari and Mail would not connect.
Under Panther, I had no trouble connecting to any Panera Bread WiFiÑno adjustments needed, the airport in my PowerBook just connected. But under Tiger, however, I was unable to view web pages within Safari or use Mac Mail.
After spending 20 frustrating minutes trying to get a web page to appear under Safari, I opened Internet Explorer for Mac 5.2 and much to my surprise, Panera Bread log-in web site appeared right away. Once I was on the Panera WiFi using IE for Mac 5.2, I was then able to use Safari and Mac Mail.
Can anyone explain to me why I had to use Microsoft Internet Explorer for Mac to gain access to Panera Bread's FREE WIFI site, while Safari would only display a blank page?
Can anyone explain to me why Mac Mail would not work with Panera Bread's FREE WIFI until after I had accessed the service using Microsoft's Internet Explorer for Mac?
Others have reported using FireFox to access the Panera Bread's free WiFi because Safari wouldn't display any web pages.
Under Panther, I didn't have this problem. With Tiger, it wouldn't work. Nothing!
Can anyone explain why this is happening? Or is this not considered a technical issue? It seems to be a big technical issue, especially when one needs to email critical business information and the closest WiFi to do so was not accessible under Apple software!!!!!!!!! Nope, doesn't sound technical to me.

I have a similar but not identical problem.
Everything had worked fine yesterday on my Powerbook G4 running Tiger with latest updates. Sice last night many applications (Safari, Software Update, .Mac, etc.) built into Tiger has lost internet connection through WIFI. The WIFI signal is full, provided by a D-Link wireless router. Firefox can connect to the Internet. Mail also works. But Safari, Software Update, and .Mac do not work.
The wireless router works fine for PC, and was fine with the Powerbook. It also works fine if I connect the Powerbook to it with a CAT5 cable.
I have restarted the router, cable modem, and the power book multiple times. I also renewed IP in the DHCP a few times. The problem persists. Can anyone provide any insights into the problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Virus??? computer having trouble connecting to internet

Last week, my son's school computer got a virus, and sent me about 50 copies of the same email message. Since then, things have not been working properly on my macbook. Safari is telling me it can't connect to the internet, even though the network diagnostic tool tells me there is no problem. Mail is having trouble connecting too, and my idisk is suddenly inaccessible. I wanted to restore to a previously saved backup of my personal settings that I have been saving to my idisk but backup said it couldn't connect to the idisk. Backup also gave me a scary message when I had no choice but to abort the "restore".
I've seen lots of messages here claiming that there are no mac viruses, but if that is the case, what could be going on here? I already rebooted several times, and repaired permissions on the hard drive. any other suggestions???

Hey, Mort, thanks. I did find clamxav last night on the web and left it running this morning (I'm at work now.) So we'll see what it has or has not found when I get home later. It didn't allow me to just run the software on my whole hard drive, though, I had to choose folders. I chose the system and library. Do you have any other ideas about where the virus (if it is a virus) could be living?
I'm not sure if my system has been updated. I run "software update" once a week so perhaps it has already happened. I'll check tonight.
