Trouble Creating PDF in Windows 7 64-bit

When right clicking a word document and choosing to convert to PDF the following error message pops up.  Unable to find "Adobe PDF" printer or "Acrobat Distiller" printer.  Do you want to run the installer in repair mode? Yes/No?  I go ahead and say yes, then it tries reinstalling it but fails with the error message "Error 1334 The file 'directories.acrodata' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file Data1.cab.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X standard edition on a Windows 7 64-bit machine

What version of AAX and is the WORD a 32-bit or 64-bit version? There are a lot of compatibility issues on 64-bit machines and it may be that you need to update AAX before trying to do anything. Currently AAX is up to 10.1.3.

  • Could not create JVM in Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello,
I'm trying to launch my java web start application in a windows 7 64-bit machine (8 GB RAM) with the parameter -Xmx4g in the JNLP file (java version 1.6.0_27). I get the error "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine". When I reduce it to -Xmx1000m it launches fine but at some point my application crashes because of java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. When I run the jar file java -jar -Xmx4g MyApplication.jar from the command line it runs fine and never crashes.
The same application can be launched in windows XP SP3 (2GB RAM) with -Xmx1000m (java version 1.6.0_26) and never crashes.
So basically what I've concluded is that in the 64-bit my application runs out of memory (even though it works fine for the same dataset in the 32-bit) but I cannot find a way to address the extra memory I need from the JNLP file without having the error "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine".
I'm not sure if there is an obvious solution that I'm missing, I've looked online but I'm no wiser. I would appreciate any help!
    Thanks,
    Laura

I have a thought. 1gb works, 4gb does not. That seems to stem from the 32 bits limitation. However, you run this on a 64 bits CPU.
BUT! Are you trying this under Internet Explorer? I know from earlier problems that Windows 7 defaults to the *32 bits* version of Internet Explorer, even on 64 bits systems. Something to investigate.

  • Trouble installing CS4 in Windows 7 64-bit

Has anybody else had trouble installing CS4 into Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?  I had this suite installed in XP (32-bit) and it worked just fine, but it will not install on my new computer.  The first time I tried, it got partway in (past the serial number), and then everything locked up.  I had to restart the machine twice just to make it let go of the CD!
Someone on a forum suggested  copying the disks to the hard drive and installing from there, but this did not work any better, the installation simply fails immediately, and I get an error code 1605.  I tried it with the firewall off, and with anti-virus disabled, and I never leave User Account Control enabled.  What is going on?

  • How to save datawindow as pdf on windows 7 64 bit

    Hello Everyone!
Please help me. I am able to save datawindow as PDF on Win XP 32 bit by using SAVEAS function and installed ghost script 9.07. The same code does not work on the win 7 64 bit machine. • Save Web page into PDF in Windows 7 32 bit for Adobe 7

When security under Internet options in Internet Explorer runs with "Enable Protected Mode" checked, can not save web page into PDF. The version of Adobe is 7.

Are you saying you cannot print to the Adobe PDF printer or what. You have to be more complete in your description since AA7 will not fully work in Win7. You will have to use workarounds, but knowing what steps you are using is important to giving any help. Just saying save does not help. Of course, you might be able to use the MS plugin for creating PDFs as an alternative if you only have AA7. One thing that you find with AA7 is that PDF Maker will likely not work and also the printer will have to be a print to file, followed with a use of Distiller to complete the PDF creation. The AA7 version of AcroTray that does a lot of the work in the background should not be expected to work with Win 7, thus the need for workarounds.

  • Trouble Creating .pdf Slideshow

I can not successfully create a pdf slideshow. Whether I select 25 or 2 photos, I tried creating a pdf slideshow using each of the three optons given for "Size and Quality" (Optimize for viewing on screen, Optimize for printing or Use full resolution). All appears to go well and I receive the "The PDF has been created. Would you like to view it?" prompt. After selecting yes to that prompt, I temporarily see the first photo in the Adobe Reader window and then the display goes black. Nothing happens until I select the "esc" key. Then the Adobe Reader window reappears with the Adobe Photoshop Album message window indicating "The sender has created this slideshow using Adobe Photoshop Album.....do more with your digital photos!" This message window give options to download PSASE free, play the slideshow or exit. Selecting play obtains same result as before. I have re-downloaded PSASE at least 2x.
Any hints on how to correct?
    Thanks

I have Adobe Reader Version 7.0.8.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I am able to open pdf slideshows sent from others problem free.
    Thanks

    Any ideas?

    HRESULT: 0x80070BC9
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80070BC9, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • Trouble installing iTunes to Windows Vista (32 bit) Please help!

My computer recently had some problems a few months back and I had to delete some things and get rid of programs, iTunes being one of them.
I have tried to get it back, and it won't let me. It doesn't even begin installing. It tries to go to the installing screen, but the installer completed sign comes up and says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."
I have tried everything in the Apple support area and did all of the troubleshooting problems. I don't know what to do now.
    Can someone help me please?

Hmmmm. Unfortunately, most of the helpful documentation and discussion i've seen about the RAID issues has related to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers, and most of the SATA documentation and discussions relates to PCs with nVidia video cards (and/or other nVidia componentry).
I had a quick check at ASUS, and it looks like it might be worth doublechecking to see if your BIOS is up to date. (Some of the BIOS updates they are listing there mention improved SATA compatibility and performance.) But I'm a bit uncomfortable about that advice, since there's a P5SD2-X and a P5SD2-X SE motherborad being listed there.
so it might be prudent to doublecheck your motherboard model prior to any attempted BIOS upgrades. This ASUSTek document may be of some assistance:
Where to find my model name?
Once you've established to your satisfaction what particular model you have, here's links to the two different model pages:
    Model: P5SD2-X
    Model: P5SD2-X SE
If you're at all uncertain as to how to proceed with this, please check in on the ASUSTek FAQs and forums for the relevant Motherboards. (There's links to the left of each of the model pages.) I don't have an ASUS motherboard myself, so they are going to be in a better position to give you focussed advice on the process.

  • Trouble connecting LaserJet6p to Windows 7 64 bit computer using usb to parallel printer cable

The printer isn't responding at all--not even a test page. I've verified that the correct driver is installed and the computer does recognize the printer (even as the "default").
Any suggestions?   The computer is working with my other printer through blue-tooth,,,,
    Thanks!
    Paul

The USB-parallel cable needs a driver that supports Windows 7 x64 in addition to the driver the printer needs.  Additionally make sure the port settings are correct, usually the port will be something like USB001: or USB002: for the USB-parallel port. Some cables may provide a virtual LPT port such as LPT3:.  Check the documentation for your unit for details.
The posts here list models of USB-parallel ports folks here have had success with in Windows 7.

  • Trouble creating pdf files

I recently re-installed Adobe acrobat on a new machine.  Now when I use the Adobe PDF printer I get a .prn file.  I always used to get a pdf file.
When I try to print a file from within Quicken.\, I get a dialog box that asks for Output file name.  when I put a flie name in I get "Could not open file.  Access denied"
    Thanks

    Hit,
After fiddling for a while, I just found the problem was not in Adobe.  In the printer control console, I had to go to printer properties and under "Ports"  put to its own adobe port and not the "File: "  Port.

  • Create PDF from a Word document within Acrobat

    Hi!
I am having trouble to create a PDF from a Word document within Acrobat itself, and not by using PDF Maker in Word. When I try to create a PDF using Acrobat, it gives me the choice to choose any Office format file, but Word format doesn't appear. I can convert from an Excel document or a PowerPoint document, but not from a Word document, even if Word 2010 is installed and works perferctly. Why?
I know I can make a PDF in Word itself by printing to the Adobe PDF printer or by using PDF Maker, but I want to resolve the issue in Acrobat that prevents me to select a Word document in the Create PDF dialog window. You can see the dialog box in the screenshot attached.
    Any help would be appreciated.
I am using Acrobat X version 10.1.8 on Windows 7 Home Premium and I have Office 2010 installed (with Word 2010).

Thanks for your reply. PDF Maker works in all of my Office applications. However, in Acrobat, the file formats available for me to create PDF from figure all the Office file formats except the one for Word. This is not normal. At my school, Acrobat X and Office 2007 are installed, and I can use there both PDF Maker in Word and creating PDF from Word document within Acrobat.
So I think maybe there's a key in my Windows registry that is not set correctly? or something like that. I repaired the installation of Office 2010, and I did so for Acrobat X too, but it doesn't help. Any idea of how I can resolve that?

  • Printing problem on Windows 7 - 64 bits

I have problems printing some PDFs to Windows 7 - 64 bits. (Reader X 10.1.1)

    2. The same document prints perfectly using Foxit Reader;

  • Creating .pdfs

I am having trouble creating pdfs.
I am running the latest flavour of Leopard, Office Mac 2008, together with Acrobat Professional 8.1.2.
If I try and create a pdf from within Acrobat using the Create command I get an error telling me that
the document is not a supported file type of has been corrupted. (It is a .doc file)
If I open Word and print using Adobe 8.0 printer, it appears to print the .doc file, but I can't find it afterwards.
If I use distiller to try and create fails to create the .pdfs and gives an error message.
The only way I can creat .pdfs is by highlighting the document in Finder and using the print command with Adobe 8.0 set as the default printer. It then dumps them all on the desktop with amended file names. It adds WORD DOCUMENT as a prefix and keeps .doc as well as .pdf.
Am I doing it wrong or do I have a problem?
    Thanks
    Tony

    Tony,
Try to keep track of what is open, where the file is located and where
you are trying to save. It could be that an application you are using
has a memory leak and that you run out of RAM. Check our the available
RAM, when the pdf is not produced. See if there are any applications or
process that is running that be coincidental to the problem. The
Activity monitor can be helpful in tracking things down. Make sure that
Distiller is always set to keep the log file so that you can see what is
    happening.
I remember an ancient issue with Microsoft Word. When you quit Word,
the next application would crash the system. Trying to track down the
problem with crashes was tough, because it wasn't the application you
were running that caused the problem, but the one you weren't.
In your case since the issue seems sporadic, it will take detailed notes
and patience to track down the problem.

  • Windows 8 (64-bit) Recovery USB for Folio 9470m

    Hi
    I received a new HP Elitebook Folio 9470m with Windows 8 (64-bit) pre-installed recently.
I have a 13Gb HP_Recovery partition which has 2Gb of free space but I would rather that partition was better utilised for my data and documents.
Basically, I want to format the HP_Recovery partition so I can use the 13Gb, but before I do that I want to make sure I have an OS install image that I can use if necessary at a later date.
I have no HP Recovery Manager software installed and there isn't a version for Windows 8 that I could find\download. I couldn't find one for Windows 7 (64-bit) but I'm not even sure that that version would work?
I saw a suggestion that pressing F11 at boot will enter the HP Recovery tool but when I tried this nothing happened.
How can I create a USB Windows 8 (64-bit) install image?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello kitkat915,
Try with the basic driver with the following steps:
    1. Download the next driver to the windows desktop >> ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe [1/1, 3.54M]
       2. Once downloaded in the desktop right click the driver file and select Properties.
         3. Click on Compatibility tab.
            4. Check the box where it says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
               5. In the dropdown option select "Windows 7"
          6. And in Privilege Level check the box where it says "Run this program as an administrator"
       7. Now click on Apply and OK buttons to close the Properties window.
    8. Then start the instalation, double click the driver file "ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en"
It may look like the next screenshot:
