Trouble deploying Adobe Reader 11

I keep getting a failure with the following error when trying to deploy Adobe Reader 11.  The program for advertisement "RHP2022B has failed because download of the content "RHP00069" - "install reader" has failed. The download
failed because the content downloaded to the client does not match the content specified in the content source. Possible causes: The content on the distribution point has been manually modified, or a local administrator on the computer has modified the content
in the computer's hash. Solution: Refresh the content on the distribution point and retry the download.
The program never starts and goes right to failure.  I have refreshed the distribution point and have even removed and copied it back.  in my package i have the files acroread.msi, acroread.mst, setup.ini, and data1.cab.  Not sure if even
need the last two files.  My command line for the program is msiexec.exe /i "AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="acroread.mst" running as admin.  Basically all the transform file does is turn off automatic updates and removes the previous
version of reader.

Have you tried creating new Package ?
this issue normally resolved by refreshing the package to the DP, Hash mismatch should be resolved by Refresh of the content.

    having trouble installing Adobe Reader 8, know it's outdated, job requires it. System is Windows 7 Home Premium. Thank you.

    You may see if there are solutions in this old thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3063830
    Although that combination isn't supported, many people have made it work.
    Why would a job require Reader 8? All older files are compatible with newer versions. Or at least they should be.

    Is anyone else having trouble installing Adobe Reader X (10.0.1)? When I download through Firefox and click, it starts, then says "main dialogue" not loaded.

    What kind of trouble? What platform and version of OS? Any error messages? How are you trying to install Reader? Any previous versions of Reader and/or Acrobat installed?

  • I am having trouble opening Adobe Reader after I install it in my Safari.

    I am having trouble opening Adobe Reader after I install it in my Safari. I have installed reader about 10 times now and it says I can use it now, but when I try to open a file it tells me I need to launch Reader and Agree to terms. I really need to use it now for school. Please help. Thank you, Heather

    You need to open Reader outside of Safari Start>All programs and accept the agreement.

  • Mass deploy adobe reader with cusomized settings

    I would like to mass deploy Adobe reader to both Mac and PC computers with customized settings.  Ideally, to have the program update in the background so the end user does not have to do anything.  Is there a way to do this on both platforms?

    There is no unified platform agnostic deployment technology from Adobe that handles both deployment and updates to Acrobat.  You may want to look for third party deployment technology to do this for you.

  • Deploying Adobe Reader & Flash Updates

    I am currently looking for a  way to deploy non-Microsoft based product updates across our  organization. Some of the products I would like to be able to deploy  updates for include: Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader and Adobe Shockwave.
    Presently, between our main office and our various branch offices we have:
    5 Servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
    1 Server running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
    1 Server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard
    20-30 Workstations running Windows Xp Professional SP3
    20-30 Workstations running Windows 7 Professional
    Sadly, our organization does not current have a license for SCCM, so I  most likely will be deploying updates via our GPOs or scripts.Also, our  users do not have admin rights or anything, so lately I've been having  to manually authorize each of their updates  when the product (Adobe for example) checks for updates.
    Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers?
    Thanks.

  • Deploying Adobe Reader using Microsoft Deployment tool 2013?

    I followed the instructions from:
    http://www.sysadminlab.net/other/modify-the-installation-of-adobe-reader-for-mdt-sccm-or-o ther-deployment
    and here:
    http://mdtguy.wordpress.com/2013/08/27/how-to-deploy-adobe-reader-xi-msi-with-mdt-2012/
    When I test my deployment it fails with MDT error 1624.  Accroding to Microsoft:
    ERROR_INSTALL_TRANSFORM_FAILURE                1624     Error applying transforms. Verify that                               the specified transform paths are valid.
    Which I have verfied.
    Is there a .msi file that I can edit rather than have to create on using the Customization Wizrd XI?
    I know this is off subject, but what do I edit in the flash player .msi file not to install mcafee?

    You can download the Adobe Reader MSI installers from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/
    The Flash Player MSI files (like the Adobe Reader MSI) do not contains any bundled 3rd-party software.

  • Deploy Adobe Reader on Mac and Disable Adobe Updater

    I am having trouble distributing Adobe Reader for our mac endpoints and configuring it in a way that Adobe never notifies the end user for updates. They are standard users and are not able to update the application anyway. I handle updates via push distribution. The documentation that I have read either isnt clear or hasnt worked in my testing.
    Thanks

    Can you provide a link to what you're reading? It should be the admin guide here: http://www.adobe.com/go/acroadminguide
    If something is not clear, post back.

  • Im having trouble downloading Adobe Reader,  its not accepting the password (which I reset few hours ago)   ??

    Question >   Im having trouble downloading Adobe Reader.  It gets to box that requires name and password, but does not accept info.  I have already reset password few hours ago in Account Settings.  Any suggestions???

    You don't need a password to download Adobe Reader (or any other free Adobe apps).  However, your computer may request you to enter its Administrator password to install the software.

  • Deploying Adobe Reader 11.0.4 via SCCM 2012

    Hello members,
    I am looking to deploy the latest version of Reader to our workstations both during OS build and also on existing machines.
    I have successfully created a custom install using the Adobe Customization Wizard I’m leaning towards the use of the .exe / bootstrapper
    Double clicking the exe works just fine on my lab computers however getting this to work over a SCCM (2012) deployment is proving troublesome
    As SCCM admins would know the SCCM client downloads the content to C:\windows\ccmcache\randomfoldername
    SCCM then runs the command specified in the deployment you created, I appear to be having issues with the exe not knowing to look in the same directory for the MST MSP and setup.ini file,Being a randomly generating folder name this can’t be specified in the deployment unless I change the ‘Installation start in’ option
    Sometimes the install is ignoring my custom install settings (disable updates and online features etc)
    My setup.ini contains:
    [Startup]
    RequireMSI=3.0
    CmdLine=/sall /rs
    [Product]
    msi=AcroRead.msi
    PATCH=AdbeRdrUpd11004.msp
    CmdLine=TRANSFORMS="CompanyName.mst"
    [MSI Updater]
    Path=http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.0/misc/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2 -x86.exe
    Am I missing something simple ?

    You have done all the things right. I don't see any issues in your deployment. You say that sometimes your custom transforms are getting applied to some of the machines but not always.
    Which makes me believe that that the Reader 11.0.04 installers are working as expected. I guess, It's the deployment and the distribution of packages which is causing this intermittent issue.
    WHat i understand is that, while applying the setup.exe, it's somehow ignoring to apply the custom mst by not reading the setup.ini file
    My suggestions,
    1. Cleanup your existing package and deployment related to Reader 11.0.04
    2. Recreate package and deplyment related to Reader 11.0.04 using some other folder
    3. If you are not cleaning up your existing package and deployments. Ensure you have the transform file and setup.ini file in the same folder as the package folder (where it contains setup.exe and other necessary files)
    and then update distribution points
    4. Make the source directory shared

  • I'm having trouble using Adobe Reader

    I'm having trouble using or uninstalling Adobe Reader, i get a message when the programme has been anitiated which says Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close, i went on to Adobe's website and it said try uninstalling Adobe Reader and then re-install it as this sometimes works, i tried un-installing it from the Add or Remove programme but that didn't work either as i got another message telling me that the patch package could not be verified and to make sure i have permission.

    Dear Mylenium.
    Sorry i don't quite understand your reply, What do you need to know?

  • Deploying Adobe Reader 9.1.2 and 9.1.3 silently using switches in Langard

    I am having problems deploying the patches to Adobe Reader 9.1.0 using Langard 9.0 Build 20090709.  I deployed 9.1.0 without any issues using this switch: sAll /rs /l /msi" /qb-! /norestart ALLUSERS=1 EULA_ACCEPT=YES SUPPRESS_APP_LAUNCH=YES"
    I have tried multiple switches with the .msp packages.  I end of getting a Windows installer pop-up with switch examples in them in XP and 2000, Interactive Services pop-up in VISTA.  The updates do not install.
    I chose install with alternative credentials and put in the domain admin and password.
    If anyone out there has a working deployment of these updates done completely silent in Langard or now we are even open to active directory options also.  We have too many machines to be doing these at each work station.  Also, since they do not have admin privileges, automatic updates are not the answer.  Really for any enterprise.  Thanks.
