Trouble down loading ipod software,help!

I purchased a nano ipod. when I went to down load the software it read that the ipod,system ui and itunes were disabled. When I ran Norton utilities it reported my "media " was disabled.
.What does this all mean and how can I fix it.

By the way, Norton Utilities may have been OK for the older versions of Mac OS, but it is toxic to Mac OS X. If you want to confirm this, a quick search for "Norton" in the Mac OS X v10.3 & earlier Discussions area will put your mind at ease.
Uninstall Norton (do not just drag it to the trash) ASAP. Get info or uninstaller here: Uninstalling all Symantec Macintosh programs using the NortonUninstall removal utility.

Try the following steps:
1. Check windows updates.
2. Try the Microsoft Fix it in this kb to remove previous install completely:

3. Reboot.
4. Try installing again.

Your question(s) is/are a little hard to understand. So your husband has an iPod as well as a netbook and he wants to be able to sync iPod with this netbook is that correct? If so, he'll need to first download and install iTunes assuming the netbook is running some version of Windows such as 7, Vista, or XP.

As for importing or ripping music, he'll have to either use an external CD/DVD drive that is attached via USB or rip the songs to another PC you have with a built in CD/DVD drive. Once you have imported them to the other computer, you can transfer the songs to an external hard drive or to his iTunes library via Home Sharing.
If this isn't quite what you were looking for, please clarify.

Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country..

hey guys wonderingif anybody can help me I just recently purchased an ipod nano and had installed the ipod and itunes cd to my laptop. It downloaded everything but when i had connected my nano to my computer and opened up itunes an icon popped up and it said that "the software required for communicating with the ipod was not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes to install ipods software." so I did many times and again the same message came up so i dont know what i am doing wrong! Please anyone help... i wanna try out my ipod!
