Trouble downlading Illustrator
When trying to update and install the new Illustrator CC (and CS6 for that matter), I get the following message:
The address wasn't understood
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (aam) isn't associated with any program.
You might need to install other software to open this address.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Hi, I am having trouble sending Illustrator CC PDF's to my printers. I see them perfectly when I open it on my screen but they are getting a muddled view. How can I fix this - I have an urgent job to send out!

Anyway, without seeing your files, screenshots, info about your color management and the printer's requirements this can only end up in longwinded, unproductive threads. The proper thing to do would be to provide all the necessary info and on top of it the polite thing to do would be to do some basic reading up on color management (and possibly be scared out of your wits).

Trouble Opening Illustrator and Photoshop CS2??
When opening Adobe Illustrator CS2 I receive a Windows Box showing Adobe Illustrator: Illustrator.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x003c197d" referenced memory at "0x000000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
I am also having trouble accessing Adobe Photoshop CS2. When I open the program it simply stays in one sequence as a loop and does not completely open.32 bit Windows XP
I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the full program and it still has the same problem.
I even checked my ram by moving a single memory card from one slot to the next to see if that was the problem but still the same error messages. -
Trouble Opening Illustrator on CS5.5
I am using the Design Premium cs5.5 on my mac computer. I am having trouble opening the illustrator programme. All the other programmes in the suite work but when I go to open this one it opens to the 'initialising' page and then nothing. Ive tried reinstalling the programme as well but nothing seems to help.

Trouble installing illustrator trial
I have been trying for the past couple of hours to install my trial version of illustrator CS6 without success. After downloading the adobe support advisor i got the report error "system restart pending" in the trouble shoot section the solution offered is to a. restart. that didn't help. b. to edit the registry by deleting the Inprogress key. well I followed the link but when I got to the location of session manager I didn't find a key by that name. so I couldn't delete it. and I'm back to square one.
If anyone has a solution I would be very appreciative.
BTW I disabled my spy ware and firewall but that didn't help either.

as you can see there is lot of gibberish character which Adobe installer might not be able to understand or interpreting wrong.
Firstly, move the Illustrator Setup download in C:\ folder from "ai cs6\Adobe Illustrator CS6\Adobe Illustrator CS6"
and then create the new user account and install the software. -
Trouble getting Illustrator CS4 to run, and when it does: no workspaces
At work (University of St Andrews) I have Adobe CS4 Web Premium and everything installs and runs okay apart from Illustrator CS4.
I've tried to install it on two different PCs, both Dell Precision workstations. One had Windows XP Professional 32-bit, the new one has Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I get exactly the same behaviour on both. I've even tried to install it on Windows 7's XP Mode and I get the same error messages!
INSTALLATION #1
When I installed it I got an error saying "Done, with errors". Details showed:

When I then tried to run the application it just wouldn't start, it would throw up an error message. It simply would not start.
INSTALLATION #2
So I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and got the same error.
COPY FILES - NO WORKSPACES
I then read this advice on a forum:
"Do you have a working install of Ai CS4 on another computer anywhere?
If so, go into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator\Support\Required
and copy the Resources file to the same location on the computer that
encounters the error. I was having the same problem, but luckily I had a
working install on another OS, so I just compared the files between the
two installations and found the missing ones."
So I copied over these files from a working copy elsewhere in the department and this time the application ran but I now have no WorkSpace settings and cannot save any either.
INSTALLATION #3
I then uninstalled again and tried to reinstall. This time on the installer I was given a number of language options. Rather than English (International) I selected English (US) and lo! and behold! the installer ran without errors and the application opened ok and this time I had WorkSpaces... the only problem was that it would only run in trial mode because it wouldn't accept my serial number, which I'm guessing is for English (International) only.
INSTALLATION #4
Uninstall, again. Reinstall, again, this time in English (International).
Now the application opens but again I have no WorkSpaces, and cannot save any workspaces.
What can I do? Any idea how can I get a fully working version of Illustrator CS4 on my PC that includes workspaces?

Are you having any issues with your other Adobe products, or is it just Illustrator?
If just Illustrator, did you previously install the product separately (i.e. as a trial, or as a pre-release/beta)?
I am having problems only with Illustrator CS4. I have not installed the product separately, either as a trial or a pre-release or beta.
In fact, I installed Adobe CS4 Web Premium on a clean, newly installed, straight-from-the-Dell-factory Dell Precision T7400. It was the first application I installed, and Illustrator wasn't working straight after the installation.
I've not had any problems with other Adobe applications. The only time the serial number became an issue was when I tried to reinstall Illustrator CS4 using "English (US)" as an option, simply out of curiosity as this hadn't been an option with the original installation of the whole suite.
I followed the instructions:
Deleted C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4.
Updated permissions for Public Documents (although when I reached step 12: "Click Apply and click Permissions tab." there was no Permissions tab).
Reinstalled Illustrator CS4 from the setup.exe file. You said uncheck everything else, however the following applications would not allow me to untick them:

Trouble opening Illustrator CC
I recently purchased a month-by-month subscription for Illustrator CC. I've downloaded the CC app, downloaded and updated Illustrator CC, yet when I go to open Illustrator I'm getting a message that my trial has expired (had previously used a trial version) and that if I want to continue I must enter a product serial #. Well I have no serial #, all I have is the order # I recieved in an email. In the CC app under "Apps" I see Illustrator CC and it says that it's up to date. Help!

I updated all the apps through creative cloud but Illustrator cs6 wouldn't work- it would get up to about 70% then say the update failed. I read somewhere that if I uninstalled & reinstalled it the updates might work;

I did contact someone from Adobe Customer Service and he/she said that I need to contact my network service provider (which is probably Cox Communications, whom I receive Internet service).

Just purchased CC today. Every time I try to launch Illustrator, I get an error from Windows that says "windows detected an error and will close the program. It will let me know if it finds a solution". I don't know what's wrong. I have all required system requirements. I'm not a hardware tech...

1) Uninstall and run the Cleaner Tool;

2) Restart the Creative Cloud application by quitting and relaunching it;

Trouble Importing Illustrator/PDF/Vector File
I was working on a composition within After Effects and I was having no issues importing Illustrator files. Suddenly it started importing them as something weird? I'm sure I accidentally hit something to change the settings but I can't figure it out. Here's a screen shot of my imported files on the left. The top two on the were suppose to be like the rest of the Illustrator files below them.
Here's a link to my screen shot, notice how it's saying it's a Vector Art Sequence now and not just Vector Art. It's only putting it on about 10 frames when I drop it in the comp and it's pulling random info from my other files.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is not coming out of nowhere, so please double check again. Also simply consider naming your files differently from jut numbering thme sequentially to break out of this cycle. If it is truly a bug in the format handling (which I doubt), that would be pretty much the only option, anyway.
