Trouble downloadin firefox on my mac

i didnt know where to post this post but anyway, ive been trying to download firefox on my macbook, it seems to download ok but then it brings up a firefox box saying 1 of 1 item selected and then 0 kb available and the firefox logo pointing towards a folder with A on it which im guessin is the applications folder, im not sure wat to do with this to install it properly.

The "firefox logo" is the application file. The little picture you see is supposed to prompt you to drag the application file to your applications folder. That's all you have to do!
(Once that's done you can eject the Firefox disk and delete the dmg file.)

Firefox 4 on Mac would not come with a plugin for pdf viewing, you need to install the file below (just copy and paste in your browser and allow to install):

After updating to the latest version of Firefox on my Mac there is no progress bar for the page load. I really miss this feature and can't seem to find a way to obtain it.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page. 
Another possibility is to use:

I am trying to update Firefox on my Mac. I am running OSX 10.5.8, but the website is telling me the latest version does not support my operating system. I downloaded it anyway, and it doesn't work. I have deleted all version of Firefox from my computer, but I would really like to use it again.

You need an Intel Mac to be able to use Firefox 4 and later versions.
For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0 & 5.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 .

Newly created images will not display in Firefox 8 for Mac. Same images appear in other browsers. Why?

1. Specific new images are uploaded but will not display in Firefox 8 on my Mac with OS 10.6.8. (Does appear in other browsers, e.g., Chrome and Opera, and appears on Firefox 8 for PC.) Also, other images on the page display.
2. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc., in Recent History, and restarted both application and computer.
3. I've tried creating GIF, JPG and PNG, but none show on the page in Firefox on my Mac. I can see the offending image in other browsers such as Chrome on the same computer, and on Firefox on PC. You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

I finally figured it out. Needed to update her Airport firmware and allow guest access, and also changed Sharing preferences to Allow Access for All Users.

I have read up on all about crashes and i cant even open it in safe mode :( i have tried deleting it and reinstalling it but the problem still persists. What would you suggest i do and is there any way i canget hold of firefox 6 for mac?

Does the regular Firefox 8 release version work or does the version crash as well?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Download error: Adobe Reader could not open 'pdfBill-7.do' because it is not a supported file type. This message occurs on my iMac - this same file is easily opened by Firefox on my Mac Notebook, and by Safari on my iMac.

I've tried many things to resolve this issue, but none of them seem to be working. For some time now I have not been able to see the homepage of wordpress.com with full information i.e. stats, notifications, etc. I'm running Firefox 15 on Mac OSX Lion with the following settings and add-ons. I've tried disabling the various privacy add-ons one-by-one to no avail. Please help!

The only active thing I see on that page is the banner near the top which keeps changing: "For the cat pictures", "For the poet", etc. Do you not see that? I did not see any link for "Home". Try these pages:

Incidentally, it seems to me that you are using Mountain LIon, not Lion. Mac OS 10.8 is Mountain Lion.
