Trouble downloading Adobe Reader

I am having trouble trying to download Adobe Reader. I have a few .pdf I am trying to open once I go to print them some of the pages are blank or some of the words are missing.  I searched and I thought the solution would be to install AdobeReader because once opening a pdf it automatically opens in Preview.  When I attempted to download AdobeReader from www.adobereader.com I receive the error message "AdobeReaderInstaller_11_en..... It was downloaded from the internet and will be opened by App Store. Are you sure you want to open it?" What does that means and why does it need to be open by App store?
I am using a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5
Can anyone help me?
I really need the items I am trying to view to display properly. When I click on the pdf document to Open with it shows the following options:
Preview (Default)
Google Chrome
Safari
Viewer
It doesn't give me an option to open in any other applications, and it appears the only Adobe I have on my system is Adobe Flash.
Thanks for you help in Advance

The file that you downloaded should have this name:
AdbeRdr11003_en_US.dmg
or similar if you're not in the U.S. Is that the file you're trying to open?

Question >   Im having trouble downloading Adobe Reader.  It gets to box that requires name and password, but does not accept info.  I have already reset password few hours ago in Account Settings.  Any suggestions???

You don't need a password to download Adobe Reader (or any other free Adobe apps).  However, your computer may request you to enter its Administrator password to install the software.

That is either a very early alpha version, or a typo -- let's assume that you mean Windows 7.
Let's also assume that you want the latest Adobe Reader English version; download it from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.exe

  • Having trouble downloading Adobe Reader dc

When I tried to download Adobe Reader DC I receive a, "Process not elevted" response.

Hi Kojo, kindly let us know which OS version are you using, if you could post the screenshot of the message that you are getting, it would be appreciated. As per the description, it seems that Admin privileges is required to run the installer. Meanwhile, here is what you can try:
Win: Try to run the install as administrator: How do I run an application once with a full administrator access token?
Mac:Make sure your user account is an administrator user, if not, then create admin user account or enable root user and try to install it. Here are the steps to enable root user: Enabling and using the "root" user in OS X - Apple Support
We would be waiting for your response.

If that still gives you an error, can you try to download the 10.1.0 MSI installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi (English version) / http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/he_IL/AdbeRdr1010_he_IL.msi (Hebrew version).

  • Trouble downloading Adobe Acrobat Xl Pro

I am having trouble downloading Adobe Acrobat Xl Pro and I keep getting sent back to the trial window asking me to purchase the program which I  has already been done.  What do I do now?

If you have the trial installed you should be able to use the serial number from your purchase to activate the trial version to full use.

  • Am still having trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player.

Am still having trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player.

Count your blessings. You're better off without it.
If you insist upon having Flash Player, there is one and only one URL from which to download it:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
You must also enable plug-ins in Safari. Make your Safari Preferences look like this:
FYI this is the legitimate Flash Player installer:
    This one is bogus:

Probably Flash. If so, get the DMG installer here.

Don't think this is what you mean, but after downloading it must be installed--with all browsers closed.

  • I have downloaded Adobe Reader into my MacBook Pro, now how do I activate Plug-Ins?

I have downloaded Adobe Reader.  How do I activate Plug-Ins?

I don't know what kind of plug-in I need to activate.  In fact I don't even know what a plug-in is.  All I know is that when I attempted to download some photos and a document, both from an outside source, a box appeared saying "missing plug-in."  I have used the the photo website many times before with no trouble.  The one clue I have is that the most recent attempt to download the photos said that I needed to update my Adobe Reader, which I did, but alas, to no avail.  Help!  Please!
