Trouble downloading all attachments from email

Hey There,
I am absolutely frustrated that I can not download any attachments from my yahoo email!
Recently, someone gained access to my computer and read private files. This lead me into a spin of security over haul. I activated all the security settings in the System Preferences (set a master password and ticked all the boxes), as well as tried to retrieve my files (which they deleted) using a demo version of Stellar Phoenix and Disk Warrior to no success.
But since I've done all of the above in the last few weeks, I can not download any attachments (word, pdf, jpg anything) from my yahoo email.
I click on the attachment icon to download. This then appears in the downloads box. It starts to load but then gives up at "9.3kb of ?". saying that it "cannot create the file". I click on the refresh button next to the details and it prepares the download, but ends up not being able to create the file.
Would this be a Safari problem or would it be due to the security settings that I have recently activated?
Please help me!

No luck unfortunately
I turned off all the security preferences I could (Filevault, waking the computer with password etc), except for the master password, and I still am having the same problem of my email attachments not downloading.
While using Stellar Phoenix Demo to try and recover my deleted files,I had to create a new account, one for myself and one for the Root. Could creating either of these possibly have an effect? I know how stupid that sounds but the separate accounts and the master password being set are the only two options left that I can't change and I'm still having problems downloading attachements.

  • CANT DOWNLOAD PIC ATTACHMENTS FROM EMAIL (YAHOO) TO PHONE

Just got the IPHONE. When I get an email with a photo attachment I can see it, but how do I download it so I can view it later and/or send it to other people??
    Please help.
Also, is there a way to copy and paste links and email addresses??
    thanx,
    kevin

    kevinaperryjr2,
At this time, there is no way to save a photo attachment from an email on the iPhone to the iPhone. You would need to access this picture from and email program on your computer, save it to the computer, and sync it to the phone. You can however, forward the email and photo attachment to other recipients.
There is no copy/paste feature at this time, but you can submit a feature request here:

    Hope this helps,

  • My iPhone 5 suddenly started re-downloading all previously deleted emails from my POP accounts

Yesterday, my iPhone 5 started re-downloading all previously deleted emails from my POP email accounts. I use the native Mail app and have three POP emails set up on my phone. The number of messages downloaded across all of them is over 1,000 so far and date back over several months. One of these is a Yahoo account, the others are work email accounts provided by two different hosting companies. I have not changed anything on any of these three accounts at the server/hosting level. I also run an IMAP account on my phone, which has not been affected, so this is obviously a POP-only issue. I started to delete the messages only to discover that older messages were downloaded in their place. There appears to be a cap of 250 messages downloaded at a time, but there's no way to change this in the phone's settings (this used to be a feature, but disappeared some time ago).
I'm on iOS8.3 (upgraded a month ago with no affect on email). I have not changed any of my phone's email settings, so I don't understand why this has happened out of the blue. I have checked the phone's email settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to limit the number of messages downloaded.
    Does anyone know:
    a. why this has happened, and
    b. how I get it to stop?
    Thanks!

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

  • How to stop iphone 5S from downloading all my old emails

How to stop iphone 5S from downloading all my old emails? I keep deleting the "latest"old emails and older ones just keeps popping up!

Well Thank you for everyone's help.  I contacted the service provider, who uses google to support their email.  If anyone else has this problem....with google supported email here is the solution.
    Go to your email account
    click settings
click "settings" (again) under the settings button
    click "forwarding and POP/IMAP"
under POP download click "enable POP for mail that arrives from now on"
    save changes
    Then go to your iphone
    erase your email account
    re-install your email account
now only new emails should show up on your phone, all your past emails will be saved at the server.

  • Cannot Download Large Attachments from .Mac Into Mail

I recently opened a .Mac account, and can't download any emails with attachments larger than about 300k into Mail. Smaller attachments will eventually download, but take an age (2-3minutes minimum). The progress 'clock' alongside the Inbox icon in Mail won't complete a full revolution (I assume from this Mail isn't syncing properly with the .Mac server) and I have to force quit the program to get it to close.
I can, however, send and receive emails OK otherwise, and if I go into my .Mac account via webmail I can download any attachments from there no problem, at a normal rate for my broadband connection (1Mb on Tiscali). Apple Support couldn't help much, and suggested I post here. Any ideas?? It's driving me mad! Ta in advance. BBM

    BBM,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
Do you have an email account provided by your ISP?
If so, does it exhibit anything like this behavior?
In Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced, what are your
selections for Keep copies for Offline Viewing?
    Ernie
Hi Ernie, and sorry for the slow reply, been away for a few days. My ISP email account doesn't exhibit any of this, and the advanced settings for .mac are to keep all messages and attachments. Going by other posts on similar topics, it looks like a major bug in Mail/.mac syncing. Have you heard of any progress in solving it at Mac's end yet? Regards, BBM

  • Why can't I remove attachments from emails in the Sent items folder?

I Recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, and so far, there are at least a couple of things that puzzle me.
One is that now I don't have the option to "Remove Attachments" from emails in the sent items folder. It seems to work normally
in the Inbox and Drafts folders, but not in the Sent items. Go figure ???
Another thing that bothers me is that in Preview, when I save a screen shot, or a scan, etc., I no longer have the option of saving it as a GIF
(which, when better quality isn't absolutely necessary, is often much lower in KB or MB than a PNG or JPG, etc.. When I store lots of things as such images, I'd rather have that option.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have now created a smart mailbox as described above (good idea), and although I have some 50 messages in my Sent box, all with attachments (waiting to be removed so I can store the messages in the proper mailboxes), the smart mailbox is empty. So, Mail doesn't recognise these messages as containing attachments.
This led me to think that maybe Mail has been redesigned to work the way you would expect it to, at last; to contain a link to attachments instead of including them in all their bits and bytes. That would mean that the messages in my Sent box - with attachments - could be stored in local (or server-side) mailboxes without taking up extensive space.
But then I checked the size of my Sent Messages folder inside the Mail Folder in Finder, and - whoops - it's 50+ MB. So the sent messages do contain attachments all right. And Mail doesn't recognise these, since a) the smart mailbox trick says that the messages are free from attachments, and b) the Remove Attachments menu option is disabled.
I will have to wait for the next Mail update, and my Sent box will grow accordingly ...

  • Download all attachments

It appears that the "download all attachments" button from owa 2010 has been removed in 2013... Is this on purpose? Or will it be coming back in a patch? I have very frustrated users that are annoyed by the functionality in 2013 vs. 2010. Anyone
in the know have any idea on this? Thanks!

    Yep you are right.
Its not there anymore. This feature became available with Exchange 2010 SP1.
However, its removed from Exchange 2013. Maybe someone forgot it :) . Hopefully it will become available again with future updates.

  • Can't download PDF attachments from Hotmail

    Hi,
For the past 3 - 4 weeks, I have been unable to download PDFs attached to Hotmail messages.  The Windows forum has been unable to help.
I'm running Windows 7, IE 9 and using Acrobat X standard.
So far I have cleared my cache and reinstalled silverlight as the Windows guys suggested.  I also restored my computer to a point in the past when I could download attachments.
I can download PDFs from web sites, and open existing documents.  I cannot download PDF attachments from other email accounts (such as my academic account).
    Any thoughts?

If there is an option to download in binary mode, be sure that is selected. I do not have HotMail and have no clue what options might be available.

  • Since I have updated my iOS to iOS 7 I'm unable to save the photo attachments from email. It this a bug? Please look into the issue.

Unable to to save photo attachments from emails in ios7

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • New Mac - Don't want Mail auto downloading all my old emails.

I am getting a new Mac and from previous experience, once you open Mail it automatically downloads all the old emails situated on your ISP's mail server.
As I have got these emails saved on my present computer I don't want all 1,500 of them downloading to my new Mac.
I could prevent it by deleting the emails on my ISP's mail server but I want to keep them there as an independent  backup.
Is there any way I can configure Mail to ensure that it only downloads new emails and not the old ones?

I've been mulling this over overnight and wanted to follow up.
The only thing I can think of is if your email is set up using the older POP technology, you could do this one of two ways:
1/ migrate your mail across, then from within the mail app, delete whats there (ensure your delete from server settings are switched to off - if only for this section).  This will tell the server that you've already downloaded the existing mail and it ill only download new emails.  IMPORTANT: this will only work for a POP Account.
2/ Again, POP only but you could alternatively redownload all the mail, and perform the #1 steps.
As for IMAP accounts, these by nature Sync with the server, so I think you're firmly out of luck.

  • Download All attachments feature for OWA is unavavilable.

    Hi,
Is it me or is the feature "download all attachments" removed from exchange 2013 CU6 Outlook web app.  It was available on the exchange 2010 OWA.  I realize this when many users complained that they have to download each attachment.
    Thanks

Yeah it looks like it was quietly removed, I am running on CU7 and its not available. But it looks like its back on O365 so maybe CU8 or higher will add it back to on premise.

  • How to download all songs from my external drive into my itunes library

I have enough Gbytes to not use an external drive for my music.
How do I proceed to download all songs from the external drive on my internal drive?

    Hello there, Laetidela.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps on how to move your iTunes library from an external hard drive to your computer:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527
    External drive
This option requires more work than Home Sharing, but it creates a backup of your iTunes library on the external drive in addition to moving your content.
    Notes before you start:
You can use most iPods as an external drive.
Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats). Because of this, you can't use a Mac-formatted iPod or external drive to move your music to a Windows PC. See iPod: How to determine iPod's hard disk format if you're not sure how your iPod is formatted.
Mac OS X can read Windows-formatted iPods and drives. This means there are many ways to migrate your information from your old Windows-based PC to your new Mac.
Mac OS X: To be sure external drives appear on your desktop, choose Preferences from the Finder menu. Be sure the options for "External disks" and "Hard disks" are enabled.
Part 1: Locating and consolidating the iTunes Media folder
Part 2: Copy iTunes folder from the old computer:
Part 3: Get iTunes ready on your new computer
Part 4: Back up any music that's already on your new computer
Part 5: Copy music to your new computer
Part 6: Add preexisting music that was on the new computer back into the library
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Unable to download pdf files from emails or websites

I used to be able to download pdf files from emails and websites on my Windows vista 2007 computer, but am now unable to save or download them.  Is there something I need to adjust in my security system which hasn't changed?

If you're using Vista it's the same procedure as with Windows 7 (which I use) From Tools>Internet Options, click the Programs tab, and then click the Set Programs button. In Windows 7 this will open the Control Panel>Default Programs window. From there you want to click Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Scroll down the list to Portable Document Format (PDF). click it and click the Change Program button. Choose Adobe Reader as the default program, click Ok and then PDFs will download instead of opening in IE.
