Trouble downloading any music to nano
I just bought an ipod nano and I'm having trouble getting it to download ANY music. I transfered store-bought cds to itunes and imported them into the library, but my ipod won't automatically download or accept songs that I've manually dragged into the "Hayley's ipod" area. I've gone through every manual I could find and tried messing with all the preferences... nothing seems to work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi,
Your songs should be imported in the library - check it first. Once that is done create a playlist of songs you want to copy on to your ipod ( file -->newplaylist) Either right click on song to copy to playlist or left click and drag (from your main library)
After that you right click on "hayleys's ipod) , select
ipod options, select music and set it to either update all
songs and playlist/ or selected playlists.
I hope this helps,

Hello, toval1969.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are a couple troubleshooting articles that I would recommend going through when experiencing issues connecting to the iTunes Store.

Having trouble updating to 11.1 on my iPhone 5 and I can't download any music from iTunes to my iPhone because it says I don't have 11.1? How can I update iTunes on iPhone?
You update iTunes on your computer to 11.1.

I can not download any music from itunes, little box pops up and says there is not enough memeory to download?
iCloud storage has absolutely nothing to do with local storage. You need to free up space on the iPad in order to download the movies. You can transfer some content into iTunes and then delete it from the iPad in order to make room on the device.
Settings>General>Usage>Storage is where you delete content if you want to do it in there. -
My iPad won't download any music. It says download error try again. I have 100 downloads stuck on my downloads in iTunes store.
Remove the song in question from the sync list and see if the rectifies the problem.
If it does, then iTunes believes the song no longer exists on your drive and that will need to be corrected. -
Hi guys, I'm havinh trouble downloading 2 music videos. The download starts then stops before it gets going and gives me an error code, 8008. Can anyone help please.
Try the troubleshooting for that error number on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
"Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows 7: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict. -

A few more details please.
Did you connect it to your computer?
Does it show up in iTunes? -
I just bought 8 items from Itunes, 2 of which are songs the rest were videos. 2 of the videos came just fine, but the songs are stuck preparing to download (with the diagonal bars across the status bar). I've left Itunes on for about 4 hours now and it simply won't download that song, and I don't know how to get it to skip to the shows which is what I really want. I would love some help, either advice to get them to download or a way to skip past them to the shows. Thanks!
I have also had trouble downloading. Since a similar question is being asked above, I'll join this thread.
In my case, I purchased six songs about a week ago. The first song downloaded completely and is now on my iPod. The second song began to download, with the diagonal bars changing to a solid bar and going about two-thirds of the way. The song then stopped downloading any further. I let iTunes attempt to download the song for a long time, but it never did. Since that time I have logged out of my computer, rebooted, logged back in, reconnected to the music store and attempted to download the remaining songs (four are apparently queued up behind the one that won't download), but the same thing happens each time.
I have already downloaded a number of songs successfully in the past, so I doubt it's a file permissions problem (the first download a week ago, which was successful, also makes this unlikely). An important change between when I purchased the six songs and before was that I upgraded to the iTunes on the CD that came with my recently purchased iPod.
I have tried contacting Apple support on this issue, but haven't heard back from them. It might be that I failed to submit the form on the website properly.
Any help is appreciated. -
I am trying to download a music bookI purchaed on my ipad2 It won't complete the download A message saying cocoa 503 (might have wrong numbers) would appear.Only about 2/3 of downo=load would work However, the book has downloaded perfectly to my iphone5 and MacAir. What can I do??Thanks
I am having an almost identical problem and hoped that iOS 6 and the new iTunes would fix it. Regrettably, I again got 3 movies synced last night before iTunes locked up and gave me the xxxx cannot be synced "because the file cannot be written" message. Same deal with iTunes hanging on "finishing sync" after that and me having to remove the iPad from the cable to get things to come back to life on the PC (Win 7 64 bit).
I've also done a factory restore followed by a restore from backup and have the same problem. -
I changed my password last year and now I can't download any of my old purchases
Does not work that way.
Are you certain that the password was the only thing changed? Sounds more like a new Apple ID was created. -
if anyone knows anything about this, please help!
Hello Giggles36468,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iTunes Store: See your purchase history and web order numbers
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
To see a purchase's details, click the arrow to the left of the order date. Your most recent purchases are first.
The web order number appears under the date of each transaction.
Have a nice day,

I have had my frist account for a very long time. I was the first in the family to an apple product. After awhile my family joined in on my account. So instead of having to deal with all their music getting on my ipod/iphone I created a new account. Well, I recently updated my iphone and for some reason it wouldnt let me listen to my music. It would just skip around and never play anything. So I ended up deleting it all and tyring to start over. I have all the music from my first account on it but now it wont let me put my music from my second account. It says " This Device is already associated with an apple ID" " If you download past purchases with you Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days." then it gives me the option to "cancle" or "transfer". I dont know what to do after that. I am scared to click transfer because I dont want to lose any of my music I had just loaded on. Help?
It is not telling you to update your iphone, it is telling you that you need to update itunes on your computer.
