Trouble downloading CS5.5 to new computer

I purchased CS5.5 Creative Suite Teacher and Student edition last year from my school and downloaded it, no problem. I bought a new computer in November, and I can't get it to verify the install. The product key won't work, and it didn't come with a serial number. I have the product key and a receipt from my school. Anyone know how I should go about verifying my info so I can redownload the software onto my new computer? I'd like to upgrade to CS6 as well ... kind of stuck here! Thank you!

You should be able to enter your Product code and receive your serial number if you have completed the eligibility process previously. I am assuming that you are located in North America? If not please respond back as the process will be different depending on your country/region.

So... do you need to download from the Adobe store, or install from disc or a downloaded file?
If you previously downloaded instead of purchasing physical discs, you go to your accout at Adobe and look at your oder history, where there will be a link to download again... and you then install after you download the files

If you have downloaded it for Windows then you must have downloaded the .7z file.
Please install winrar on your computer, after installing winrar right click on the downloaded installer and select/click on Extract Here to extract the installer.
After extracting the installer install the software using setup.exe

What is best way to proceed?

If you are in a hurry to use the software... if you only installed it once before you are allowed to have two activated installations, so you should be able to wortk with the newly download files right away. If/when you get a hold of the chat folks they will end up deactivating anything that is currently activated, so you would need to activate the new installation again following that. But there is no rush to get the old installation deactivated unless you need to have two working installations immediately.
The chat functionality is seemingly a game of chance... works well for some but not for others.

Sorry to have been unclear about with the problem was. As it turned out, everything had downloaded from Adobe properly -- the problem was that I couldn't find the downloaded files on the new computer. Once I reread the documentation, found the file names, searched for and located the correct files, and unzipped and/or opened them, I was able to proceed with the set-up just fine. In retrospect, it was a straightforward process once I followed those steps. Thanks.
