Trouble downloading/installing 10.5.2 update

Somebody please help. I bought the 10.5.1 and now certain applications (such as AOL) will not function correctly. I am having the hardest time downloading, let alone installing the 10.5.2 which I'm told I need to make things work correctly again. I have a regular 56K phone and share the phone with family members. Did anyone by chance download the standalone update installer and put it on DVD? Does apple offer this? Any other suggestions?

I'm sorry for the mixup there CHerrod. That step is for gavki only. Sometimes there are preferences on your username that causes an issue on the computer and by creating a temporary user, we can properly isolate the issue if its user-specific or system-wide.
As for your issue, I'd still say that asking a friend download it on his/her computer and burn it is your best option. School will be a good place to look for one. Try an Apple Store near you as well. Just bring a blank CD-R and see if they can download and burn it for you.

You may have better luck if you temporarily disable the firewall and anti-virus software on your PC while downloading the 4.3.4 update.

I have tried several times to download and install Adobe Flash Player update version 11.7.700.169 without success. My OS is Windows XP with SP3 and my web browser is Internet Explorer. My current Adobe Flash Player version is 11.6.602.180. In the Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player IE window I unchecked the checkbox "Yes, install Chrome as my default browser and Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer - optional" and clicked [UpdateNow]. Then I followed the installation instuctions. When I tried to run the installer I got an Internet Explorer Script Error dialog box.
I then clicked yes on the Scrippt Error dialog box and it closed. The new version did not install. I still have the old version.
What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to download/install Flash player & it's not working. After the initial download, the window pops up showing the progress, however it stops between 7% & 9%, saying underneath the progress bar: lost connection. trying to reconnect. No matter how many times I've tried it, it does the same thing. I've also tried to download Flash player from another site (not Adobe.com) & windows won't recognize it... please help!

Trouble downloading/installing 10.5.6 on a Macbook

I've been running into a lot of trouble trying to get the new system update onto my Macbook. Every time I try to download 10.5.6 (via the Software Update, as well as directly off the website) the download will work part way before suddenly jumping to the restart prompt. Then, when I hit the install button, the screen freezes on "Configuring Installation", which I know means the download isn't complete. Is there any way to fix this?

In general it's best to install one update at a time. If the other computers are very busy using the internet, then, yes, that might be the problem.
Wait for a quiet time when the other computers are off-line and see what happens.

Hi, I actually checked that first and no restrictions on app install/delete. I also logged out of iTunes account, re-started my iPad but still no luck. In fact, when I search for Netflix, I can see another app called Dijit Remote and Nextguide that I can click on the "free" button to download but everything else, including Netflix button is grey and cannot be clicked.

Help please. I have been attempting everything I know to get Acrobat Reader on my new computer. I am using a Windows 7 OS. I can start the download, it completes, but it does not do anything past then. I have administrator rights. I have attempted to "save" the file. I have attempted to "run" the file. Just try by manually downloading exe and msp:
•First download 9.3.3 installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.3/enu/AdbeRdr933_en_US.exe and run it.
•Then download 9.3.4 update http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.4/misc/AdbeRdrUpd934_all_incr.msp and run it.

Unable to download & install FlashPlayer since Microsoft update

I have managed to reinstate JavaScript but not Flash Player. It says it is not compatible with a 64-bit browser. It worked perfectly until about 2 weeks ago! I have uninstalled Flash Player completely but cannot re-download and install it.

I realise I haven't given enough details - I am running Windows 7 and use Internet Explorer 8.0.76. I notice that lots of people are having similar problems but none of the answers seem to quite answer my predicament! Having uninstalled Flash Player, I can't even download it again. SHould I switch to 34-bit browsing (how?) and would this be really slow? Does anyone have any answers for me? I've used up a whole morning on this! I can't believe that Adobe want to charge for support when the problem originates from them..

I am running v6.0 right now and want to update to v6.0.5. After a quick search, I discovered I need to download Pro Apps Updates 2008-004. When I click the download button for 2008-004 (https://swdlp.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/SoftwareDownloadApp.woa/1122/wo/Ig6HS ItQp1yORtbr0NL0h0/3.5) it takes me to the Final Cut Studio 2 Updates page. However, after entering my serial number, I am taken to the Pro Apps Updates 2008-005, which does not have the update for v6.0.5 in it. Is there any way to download the 2008-004 update?

When you put stuff on your drive using Apple's Installer, you will sometimes be given an option where it goes. Productivity software generally belongs in the Applications folder by default.
Installer also places a bill of materials (.pkg file) in the Library/Receipts folder.
The .pkg file contains information about the version number and where the application is located.
Updaters look at that file to see where they should copy themselves, if the updater then finds nothing at that location, the update will not happen.

I successfully installed Acrobat Pro XI through the Creative Cloud desktop app. I then went to install Dreamweaver CC and it got 90% through the extraction process and has been frozen at 90% for over 40 minutes. Is it glitched? Should I end the process, remove it, and start all over again?

Can you please check the permissions on the machine ? It seems like that its getting stuck while doing the update installation . Have you tried a new Admin account on the machine ?

Error 6 after downloading & installing 4.3.4 update for 3GS

Hello,
I'm running Windows 7, the latest iTunes and have an iPhone 3GS.
I downloaded the new 4.3.4 update for my phone and after installation my iPhone went into recovery mode. This is something that has happened in the past after updates and my phone has always restored without problems and the back up has kicked in fine. However, when I tried to recover it this time my phone seems to reach around 80% of recovery then it switches off and an "Error 6" dialogue box pops up on my iTunes.
It keeps happening and so my iPhone is now stuck in recovery mode.
I got really confused by the instructions on the support article on the Apple site. Am I right in thinking it's something to do with security? I've seen some people say it's to do with firewalls and anti-virus software...
Any help at all would be appreciated, feeling a bit stranded without my phone. Crazy how much I rely on it!

Thanks for the advice, sadly it didn't work. I disabled my AVG and Zone Alarm but it still came up with the error. I've even tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes but still had no luck.
What d'you think the problem with the Registry could be?

Trouble downloading Safari 3.1.2 update/two different Safari 3.1.2 updates?

I just tried downloading the latest Safari 3.1.2 update from Apple Downloads and can't seem to get it. Keep getting bounced from the Downloads page (this is the page where others, including the latest Security Update, are listed) to a generic (listing features) Safari page that appears with a link to download 3.1.2. Could be a temporary problem with Apple server but this page never fully loads-tried six or seven times- and the link won't work, and besides, it doesn't seem to be for the update only, but perhaps the full version.
The link to download from the Downloads page lists the file size at 49.2 MB.
"Download only" from Software Update lists the file at only 26 MB. Would prefer the direct download from Apple Downloads, not Software Update. Any ideas? Thanks.

I never use SW Update... too flaky, and I like to make sure what complaints it has for a week or two before I get it for real.
(How many "automatic" things in your life ceased to function, yet one little manual switch or something could/would make it useful?)
I suspect the 26M B is what is called a Delta upgrade, just the changes from the last version of Safari, whereas the standalone bigger one is the whole kit 'n' kaboodle.

Trouble Downloading/Installing Eclipse

I have recently reinstalled my computer with Linux and so now I'm trying to install programs again.
So I enter the terminal, login as root and type pacman -S eclipse.
It works fine for a bit but while it is checking package integrity it sends me a message that says "File xulrunner-1.9.2.8-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz is corrupted."
I don't really know how to get around this, to find something that's not corrupted, I'm kind of new to the whole linux thing.
