The language that you use in your post regarding "some users.....Akamai Download Manager or Adobe Download Assistant...." appears to be from the link that you cited for a download alternative.
No. Those experiences are from years on the Adobe Forums, for various products. They are based on dozens, if not hundreds, of issues that users have come to the forums with.
There are two different download schemes, but that will depend on exactly what program one is downloading. If you download many programs, you will get the Akamai Download Manager, but if you download some others, like Adobe PrPro CC, you will get the ADA (Adobe Download Assistant).
Also, you seem to have an issue with ProDesignTools. Is that correct? Why?
Were those download links from other sites, I would not have posted, but I have worked with ProDesignTools for many years, as has Adobe. They usually have updates on various Adobe programs, directly from Adobe, before even the Adobe Staff has that info. They have also been a great repository for Adobe "trial" downloads, when those are no longer available from Adobe. They have saved many users tons of grief, and are a "Trusted Supplier" by Adobe. They are also active in the "Adobe Influencer" program.

Losing email? This might help

Since installing Leopard from 10.3.9, I've experienced some of the frustrations surrounding getting my email to work. I slowly worked through all the fixes and things were just about sorted. One test I used on the previous OS was to send myself emails from my various accounts. After Leopard they got sent but just evaporated, never arriving in my inboxes. Today I went through the preference/options settings on my ISP's server. Although I've never accessed these before I found the default settings were all high for virus, SPAM etc. It was also set to autodelete for SPAM. Guess what? my own email addresses were being identified as SPAM and were being trashed at source. It could quite easily identify any sender email as SPAM, often relying on the service provider alone as the trigger. I've now reset them and as a backstop also filled in the 'allow' fields on the server for my trusted addresses. This means I can now reset the security filters to high and not lose anything. This might meet with a 'duh' or two, but hopefully helps a few not-so-techy types like me. Thanks for listening.

I'm still happy with my AT&T iphone. Never had any dropped calls, Zero dropped calls. I do live in an area with full bars everywhere so there is no need for me to make the switch. I also like surf and talk, so that I will never give away as well. It may come handy sometimes when you really need it.

Ok, here are the steps I took when performing my iOS 5 update on my Verizon iPhone 4.
I have a Macbook Pro (2008). I had upgraded to OSX Lion about 3 months ago. The FIRST thing I did was upgrade my iTunes to the latest version. If you check the specs for iOS 5 update, it says it needs iTunes 10.5 to run. So, I downloaded the iTunes update directly from the apple website.
After this was completed, I checked for any and all upgrades for OSX Lion and discovered there were 2 available to me, so I downloaded those (which took about 20 minutes from start of download to reboot time.)
Now at this point I had waited over 24 hours to upgrade to iOS 5 because of the sheer amount of traffic I'm sure the servers were getting. My first step after I plugged my phone in to update was to BACK IT UP!
When iTunes prompted me to download and update I simply chose to DOWNLOAD ONLY. After the download process was complete (about 10 minutes,) I backed up my phone one more time.
At this point I decided to update the phone. Now the process in and of itself took between 1 and 2 hours. I have a lot of apps and that process seemed to take the longest to restore (about 45 minutes.) Not once did my phone freeze or lock in any way and my phone works fine running the iOS 5 software. Nothing was lost, and everything on my phone was restored completely.
These were my steps in updating to iOS 5. I'm only submitting my helpful hints and this is what worked for me.
**HERE'S THE CATCH** b/c let's face it, there's ALWAYS a catch!
I had a phone issue BEFORE the update. My phone would not allow me to hear through the speaker the sounds of incoming voices nor could I hear anyone while making a call. I could only hear people who I called or who called me when the phone was on speaker mode. I thought that maybe upgrading to iOS 5 would fix the issue. After the update, I did any and all tips for fixing the issue including restoring the phone completely. After talking with Verizon they're sending me a "replacement" a.k.a refurbished phone. This is not satisfactory to me in any way, so a good friend who works for the local Apple store here in Cincinnati told me to bring the phone in w/ the original receipt (the phone is almost 4 months old,) and they would replace it with a new one. Kudos to Apple if this is the case.
Issue 2, could not connect with iCloud and I'll just chalk it up to server overload.
Hopefully this helps anyone in any way. As I said before I had no problems and I just took a few extra steps in the process. iOS 5 is really some nifty software and I'm really digging the iMessage feature.
To anyone having difficulties and issues, I'm truly sorry and hope you all get it taken care of. Have a good one!

If you cannot wait:
download the iOS5.0.1 file directly to your PC (~700MB), if that works better, connect the iPhone and Alt+click on the "Update" button, choose the newly downloaded file.
If you cannot wait at all, do the update on the iPhone itself (~38MB), but you still have to download the iOS full file to your PC, otherwise it will not be there when one time you need to restore: copy it to
for XP:
Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
for W7:
Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
You throw awy the downloaded when after a time you are sure that everything is OK and the full iOS stays in the Updates folder.

Trouble downloading apps! Please help :(

I am trying to download apps to my iphone, it keeps telling me that verification is required, when I put in my password, it says "can't verify address", however when I sign in on my computer's itunes it has no problems. HELP please!

I am, unless the formatting is different? I put the exact same info as I do in my itunes on my laptop and it's not working. Hopefully I'm just missing one minor detail? Is there a trick to how there are 2 address lines? (I am using my debit card)
and yes...I'm getting very irritated. Just bought the phone today and wondering if I made a mistake!! lol

Ok, this is something I did on my iPhone 3G, and now I can get apps from appstore again. It's pretty simply all you do is go into wifi and then the wifi hotspot
You are in and go into dns you can ether delete the whole dns number and then press wifi ( don't put anything in the dns box) or I hope this will work for you put this dns into it 192.168.1.1 that is the current dns I have! I'm going to check on this form.as much to make sure it works for everyone! Plz try it and let me know

I had recently upgraded my 4S to iOS 6.1.2. All was well except Facetime and iMessage. For "Waiting for Activation" under the iMessage setting, this is what I did after 2 days of waiting:
Plugged in to PC
backed up contacts etc on iTunes
Reset the iphone from settings>general>reset>erase all data and settings
Set up the phone as new
after setting up restored from back up on iTunes
iMessage working!
Oh and first it was working from the emails i set up. I had to uncheck all emails from Settings>Messages>Send and receive, to make iMessages shift to my phone number.
Also in my experience saying "OK" or "Cancel" to "Carrier may charge for an SMS" did not make a difference.
Hope it helps everyone stuck at "Waiting for activation"!

I'm having trouble downloading application manager, please help?

whenever i try to downoload application manager it always stops and a pop up tells me "sorry, there seems to be a problem with the download process"
I cant find any answers on the forum and i need to download the trial version of after effects, any help welcome.

You can manually download and install the Adobe Application Manager:

If you had connection probelms this might help..

I was having the 11333 erorr when i tried to connect to itunes store.
So i contacted Microsoft for help since it was a network connection probelm.. and they fixed it within 24 hours..
First make sure you disable your pop-up blocker while your fixing your connection and your firewall. You can turn it on as soon as its fixed.
Go ahead and reset your proxy..
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click Advanced.
4. Delete any entry in the Exceptions section.
5. Quit Internet Explorer.
6. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
7. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
proxycfg -u
proxycfg -d
That should reset the proxy and allow you to have full access to the store..

i used to have problems with my email coz auto check and push doesn't work well. it drove me crazy......... i tried reset and creating new account on yahoo but still doesn't work. so i tried restoring my phone and now it work really great. i get alert for my mails in just a matter of seconds. hope this helpsssssssssss

OnLocation..this might help

CS4 (some bundled products) will allow OnLocation to install on your portable or portables for extra cameras..let me know on the extra camera please....I wish I could tell you exactly where to look but I lost the spot...
so much info do little time.....
On some other Adobe apps you cannot have them running at the same time on 2 platforms... like CS4 Master Collection so you cannot have the program running on your desk top ..turn off (close) Adobe Apps on your desktop then try the laptop install.
Both my CS4 installs went really well once this was discovered in the ether....

Apple has released a booting and recovery tool for Lion that can be put on a flash drive.

It may be useful for those which didn't took care to stop the Install process to keep a backup of the Lion Installer.
There is a recovery HD partition on the HD but what if the HD die ?
The partition would be helpless.
The USB built with the delivered app would solve the problem.
Of course, if you took care to backup the Installer, you would be able to run it which will spare you a lot of downloading.

Unable to download at this time

I have a number of ipad mini's that I'm attempting to set up to use in a school. First three work fine but for the 4th I've been though the set up and can't download any apps.
Internet connection works fine. Account seems to be set up properly. I keep getting a message saying unbable to download at this time.
I have reset the pad and done a hard reset to start from scratch twice now and still the same happens. Please help because this could soon become a very expensive frisbee.

Thanks for the quick response. I gave this a try but unfortunately the same problem appears. I have even returned the ipad to factory settings and started the set up process again with the same issue cropping up.
You have given me another idea though. I'll take it home with me and see if I can download apps using my home wifi and router. This might help to narrow down what the problem is.
Any further suggestions are also much appreciated.
