Troubles editing tables with partitions

I'm running SQL Developer 1.5.3 against Oracle 10/11 databases and SQL Developer has trouble with my partitioned tables. Both the schema owner and sys users experience the same problems.
The first time I try to edit a table, I get an "Error Loading Objects" dialog with a NullPointException message. If I immediately turn around and try to edit the table again, I get the Edit Table dialog. That's annoying but there's at least a work-around.
Next, if I select the Indexes pane, I can view the first index but selecting another one results in an "Index Error on <table>" error dialog. The message is "There are no table partitions on which to define local index partitions". At this point, selecting any of the other panes (Columns, Primary Key, etc.) results in the same dialog. While the main Partitions tab shows my partitions, I cannot see them in the Edit Table dialog. In fact, the Partition Definitions and Subpartition Templates panes are blank.
Does anyone else see this behavior? Version 1.5.1 behaved the same way so it's not new.
Of course I've figured out how to do everything I need through SQL but it would be handy if I could just use the tool.

Most of my tables are generated from a script so this morning I decided to just create a very basic partitioned table. It contained a NUMBER primary key and a TIMESTAMP(6) column to use with partitioning. That table worked just fine in SQL Developer.
At that point I tried to figure out what is different about my tables and I finally found the difference... Oracle Spatial. If I add an MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY column to my partitioned table, SQL Developer starts having issues.
I also have the GeoRaptor plugin installed so I had to wonder if it was interfering with SQL Developer. I couldn't find an option to uninstall an extension so I went into the sqldeveloper/extensions directory and removed GeoRaptorLibs and org.GeoRaptor.jar. GeoRaptor doesn't appear to be installed in SQL Developer anymore but I still see the same behavior.
It appears that there is an issue in SQL Developer with Oracle Spatial and partitioning. Can someone confirm this?

SmoothCam troubling editing process

Just a few pieces of footage I wanted to be ' smoothcamed'.
Definitely not more than 20 seconds.
It takes hours rendering, and adds a lot of trouble:
- No autosave during rendering
- When you want to render audio or graphics, FCP starts rendering smoothcam first
- Turning off smoothcam clip by clip doesn't stop smoothcam-rendering
Smoothcam is troubling my editing process. What can I do?

Smoothcam will review the ENTIRE clip, not just the short bits you want.
Either capture discreet short clips (no Capture Now of the entire tape) or export the short segment you want to smooth cam then reimport it before sending to Smoothcam.

Trouble editing text within form in pdf

We have created pdf fillable forms and was able to add text fields that come with red borders (intentional) inside and outside the forms. However, when trying to edit the texts inside the form, we are not able to click on it to select and delete/move easily like the text outside the forms. I am able to edit it from the comments list on the sidebar, but not editing it directly on the form, which takes a lot more time.
Please advise!

Make sure the "Highlight Existing Fields" option is check marked.
Launch the PDF>Tools>Forms>More Form Options>See if that option is check marked .If it is not ,kindly do that and see if it works for you.

I am having trouble editing track names and information in my Itunes library. Help center says click on selected track, click on file, click on get info, make changes, and press save. When I get to get info, it won't let me change anything. Help??

Trouble Editing 60 fps Stereoscopic Footage

Working with a quadcore, 12GB ram, Win7 x64, SSD for OS, raid 0 for media, which ive tried @ proxies resolutions of 1024/512 & 512/256, using both lagarith and highly compressed jpeg sequences, and premeire stutters incessantly, but only at 60fps, which i have to edit at because this project demands that level of precision. Damn, Im already tired of this consumer grade crap and ive just started. I could bash adobe, but ive had worse experiences on FCP, so all im gonna say is that is a damn shame there isnt a single competent company out there capable of creating a solid NLE for less than the price of a house.

Well, over the years of troubleshooting issues on this forum, I have gathered a useful perspective. Issues sort out this way, and in this order:
1.) System (probably 50% of the issues)
2.) Assets (probably 30% of the issues)
3.) Project Preset (probably 10% of the issues)
4.) Pure OE (probably 9% of the issues)*
5.) Real Bugs in the software (final 1% of the issues)
* Harm takes me to task, as he maintains that 1 through 3 are really OE too, but I hold out that there are differences.
Now, if others have success with their systems, the same Assets and program, that should be an indicator that maybe something is different in your instance. Also, Jeff is not given to even hyperbole, let alone BS. There have been a very few instances where he got something wrong, but I really can't remember those (gotta' be one, or two somewhere?).
He also took his time from an assignment in Europe with limited Internet access and expensive connection charges to try and help you. I would urge you to be thankful and also to show some respect for his efforts.
What some folk fail to realize is that with two exceptions, we are ALL but users. We just offer our help on a pro-bono basis to other users. Even in the cases of those two Adobe employees (in their Profiles), they work elsewhere besides C/S, or T/S, and have "day jobs" with Adobe. They also give freely of their time. If one has found a Bug, this Bug Report is how you get Adobe's attention. They take these very seriously. Be prepared to give them all necessary info, so they can replicate your issue in their lab and get to work fixing it.
Last, as users, we're really not interested in how you feel about Adobe, or its products. We're only interested in getting the necessary info to help a fellow-user solve the issues they are faced with. Might be something to take into consideration. Posting into other threads that one should ditch Adobe products is not useful to that poster, as others are attempting to help them solve their problems. It also does not sit well with people who make a nice living using Adobe products. Adobe is very lenient with references to competitive programs in these fora (far more lenient than any other software company, that I have experienced), but one should only offer up useful replies.

New DW8 User - Trouble Editing Frontpage Site

Hi Everyone,
I manage a website that was originally designed in frontpage,
with PHP code intermingled within the code.
When editing this in Frontpage, I have no problems seeing the
code/design view. Of course, areas with dynamic PHP content are not
visible, but i can see the other layout elements of the page render
OK.
i just bought DW8, installed, works great on my website,
except for one thing, the DESIGN view is next to useless. It
renders a bit of the page, then stops 1/10 th of the way down. What
is visible, cannot even be navigated though, it is just a mangled
mess.
Could anyone shed insight on this for me? thanks in
advance.

Are you using FP includes?
To protect its users from the reality of HTML, FP uses
non-standard include
files, meaning that the files being included are complete,
stand-alone HTML
pages. When the parent file is published, FP's bots strip out
the
unnecessary <html>, <head>, and <body>
tags. It's likely that DW is being
driven over the edge by such proprietary markup....

Trouble editing Tables.

I'm using a JButton and JTextFields to edit empty cells in a table. This is my setValueAt method.

in my actionPreformed method. It's giving me the compile error:

My main class is static. Would that have anything to do with it? If so, how do I fix it?

Tables always exist inside a text frame. Even if it looks like a stand alone table, it's within a kissfit frame.
In order to edit a table, you have to check out its parent frame first.
Click inside one of the table cells. Look at the assignments panel, where all the editable stories (text frames) are listed. Is one highlighted? That will be the frame that the table belongs to. Click the Check Out button at the bottom to check out the selected story, or use any method you like to check it out.
If you can select text inside a table but there is no story highlighted in the Assignments panel, then the designer forgot to export that text frame to InCopy format. It's read-only and uneditable by you in InCopy. Ask them to export the text frame. Then you can File > Update Design (or just close and open the file) in InCopy and you'll be able to check it out and edit it.

Having trouble editing iweb HTML. Help!

I have been trying repeatedly to edit my websites html that I created with iweb. I bought the domain with godaddy.com and changed the cname to web.mac.com so that I could create pages and publish them to .mac, which would then show up on my .com name. After a few weeks of being satisfied, I wanted to make my site better, and iweb just wouldnt cut it. So now I have the html code for my front page of my website to include a random image upload each time the website is visited. I've been reading about how to edit the html in iweb in multiple forums and how-to guides, but none of it works for me.
I attempted to publish to a folder and then edit the html and save it in the same place, with the same name, but this didn't have any effect on the actual website. What do I do? Someone please lay this out for me step by step and tell me what I am doing wrong. This is frustrating! Thank you.

Thanks for your response. Your second idea is what I'm looking for ---I want a few images to display, one after another, while the homepage of my website is open. It's not really a banner that I want the images to sit in (I think of a banner as being at the top of the page). I want to position the images lower in the body of the page. I had researched this topic quite a few months ago and found some things that might help---that's why I didn't start a new thread---but I couldn't locate the information this second time. I guess it's time to start a new thread as you suggested.

That's it, there is no limit to number of images, when you add an image to the page, just add another line: images.push('blah_blah.jpg');

Having trouble editing bookmarks because FF won't tell me where they are when I click on the yellow star.

The yellow star works fine for storing new bookmarks, but if the bookmark already exists, I get only the small "edit bookmark" box, and not the full box that shows where it is and lets me edit it. My bookmarks are all organized into folders, and sometimes I can't remember where that bookmark is stored. Any ideas why I should have such a problem?

Sorry, Firefox doesn't have a "locator" for bookmarks that will tell you exactly which sub-folder a bookmark is located in. IMO, a major lack of usability, but the problem has existed forever and I got used to it.

Without installing an add-on this is what I do. <br />
{ Ctrl + B } to open the Bookmarks sidebar. Use the ''Search'' at the top to find that bookmark, then right-click and select Properties.

Trouble editing smart objects

If I paste a vector element from illustrator into PS as a smart object, and then wish to edit that content later, the smart object is opened in Preview rather than illustrator. Is there some way to specify the editor or just force it to open in Illustrator?

Recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Photoshop CS5.1. What is this new obsession with Preview? I've gotten over the fact that double clicking an Illustrator EPS in Quark > Edit Original, no longer opens it in Illustrator but Preview - nigh on useless for editing. But now my vector smart objects in Photoshop are also opening in Preview as well.
Is there some setting or box I need to tick somewhere to stop Preview hogging my vector artwork. I realise I can change settings so that ALL EPSs open in Illustrator but that's not workable for me as we use a lot of rasterized Photoshop EPSs too and this 'all or nothing' solution doesn't discriminate between the two. This is probably more of a Mac OS problem than an Adobe one, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Upgrading seems to have made my work flow dissappointingly LESS efficient.
Is there a new way to get a vector smart object to open or even export or something to Illustrator? I've a logo currently trapped in a PSD and it needs to get to Illustrator.

Trouble editing in flash

hello,
I am recently bought a flash site template.
I came with a flash cs3 source file, but when i load
it into flash cs5.5 trial, it only has 15 frames.
Which might be normal but when i scroll through
the frames it only changes from a loading picture
to a redbox that says content, what am i missing
i figured that as i scroll through the timeline it would
show the visually so i could edit it?

Look thru the library content to see if you can find the content you need to edit. Some of the content could also be generated using code, so you might need to search thru the actionscript as well.

Trouble Editing To Tape

I have been agonizing over this for a while, so any help would be good. I have been attempting to edit to tape on to a Sony Z1 camera and it the picture keeps coming out all over the place. There will be massive chunks of the creen in the wrong place or not there at all.
I have set all the cmera settings to DV and the audio/video settings in FCP. Is there something I am not doing?

Yes, I am calm now!!!
Basically, I have checked to see if capture works and it works fine. When I go to edit video or print to video the image that fcp shows is not the same as the one showing on the Z1.
For example: I go to edit to tape and I put a new tape in. I then click on 'Black and Code' so it rewinds to the beginning and starts to black the tape. Only it doesn't because what shows on the cameras monitor is the blue LCD which is what shows when it is showing no signal. Sometimes it records a signal that is like a mix of colours on the screen.
When I actually come to record a FCP movie which has been exported and reimported into the browser. Mark in and out point and drag it to the assemble. I have put bars and tone on the front, but what happens is the image that shows on the camera is a jumbled up bars and tone, with bits on the image missing. And that signal remains recording to tape, where the image on the computer monitor is fine.
I have changed firewire cables, adjusted the camera settings and audio and video settings and I don't know what else to do to make it work??? Any suggestions?

Trouble editing published webpages

Hi,
I just published my website to the internet through Dreamhost (not .mac) and I'm wondering how I can edit individual pages already published to my server without having to re-publish my entire website to my hard drive every single time I make a update my site.
Okay, so here is the current procedure:
1) Change a few lines of text and add a few new pictures on a page on my website in iWeb (let’s say the “latest news” webpage for example).
2) “Publish” the entire website to a folder on my hard drive. (Now I have two published websites by the same name in different folders on my hard drive that are only slightly different).
3) Open up cyberduck (my ftp client).
4) Type in the complete url in the “quick connect box” and then I type in my server name and password.
5) Now I open the “index.html” folder for the site and delete the old “latest news” folder completely from cyber duck (my ftp client).
6) Now I just drag the new edited version folder of “latest news” from my hard drive and then drop it into the index.html folder in cyber duck and within a minute or two the new “latest news” webpage appears on my website.
So, obviously this works, but it’s a “wonky” procedure, especially considering the fact that I want to be changing and updating the website on a weekly basis. I’m sure a better way to update webpages exists, but I’m a complete beginner to all of this stuff. Any help or advice would be most appreciated!
